Aura Hotel was definitely a vibe. To book a suite, you need to be a member--which is only $40 annually. The main lobby has everything you might need to spice up your stay (yes, even adult essentials if you forget yours). They offer 4-hour, 8-hour, and overnight stays. It gets pricier on weekends, and availability is limited--so book early. I had the room decorated for my birthday, and it was perfect. It came with champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, a "Happy Birthday" balloon, and rose petals on the bed and floor--such a romantic and thoughtful setup. There's only so much I can share (and post!) about the room and jacuzzi, but just know: a time was had. Definitely a birthday to remember. I booked the Luxe room at the Midlothian location for Father's Day 2025. It was supposed to be a day of relaxation; However, the front desk clerk Hannah made my experience horrible. At 1:00am the room phone started ringing uncontrollably. I was startled out of my sleep. The phone on the second floor was inoperable. I had to run to the first floor. Upon answering Hannah proceeds to ask .... " Did you pay for your room" ... excuse me... did you pay for your room..... I answered her " yes I have the receipt " since it was Father's Day i'd booked the room a month in advance. She then said i'm coming to your room to see the receipt. I couldn't understand what the issue was. if I had not paid then why was I given a room key? I thought to myself... she proceeds to bang on the side door. Which made me even more uncomfortable. I told her my husband and I would bring the receipt to the front desk. Upon speaking to her she then changed her story. She said she thought l'd never check in. Just lying... if that was the case, then why did you tell me to produce a receipt... I was so uneasy, I never went back to sleep. I Left a message with manager Larry concerning the matter. It's been a week and he's never reached out to me. I do NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE reserving a room at any of these locations. If your "public record search" of him years ago was so bad then where was the concern for your guest safety then?? How was he able to have a membership before?? No need, I'll answer that for you....there was NO record search or care of any "crimes" before and obviously there was nothing too concerning to keep him from being a paying guest so don't come on here acting as such! In my opinion your establishment is NOW judging those with a past (even if their life has changed) for whatever bad guest you've recently experienced. Hubby and I stayed in the Bliss. The room was clean, classy and even sexy for the more seasoned crowd. We live 2 hrs away and will visit again. The only issues we have is 1. Would be nice to add a microwave 2. Nice to have a metal hand bar in the bathroom 3. Steam room doors don't clasp which causes water to get on the floor and 4. Please stagger the check in process. Check in was like a traffic jam. After driving 2 hrs checking in was mentally frustrating. (P.S. My 1st attempt at staying here was TERRIBLE to say the least! 1st off I got the Luxe room which is most expensive, you'd think they'd cater to you seeing how expensive the room is, well nope they didn't they acted as if I was staying at the White house!!! I came and checked in with my female friend and we went into the room, 20 mins into us changing about to go to the club (mind u we live an hour away) security calls saying we can't have guests in the room. I explain that we're changing clothes leaving and she's not staying, but we live hours away. Security doesn't give a rats ass and makes us leave. I was soooooo PISSED OFF!!!! We spent all this money for nothing. We did get the money back later tho. 2nd attempt to stay here, getting the same room spending the same 3-400 bucks, I was told I was on their banned list, couldn't stay and needed to contact the manager. OMG AM I PISSED OFF NOW!!!!!! Called the manager that following week, explained the previous incident and he was cool he understood, he lifted my restrictions and gave me a 10% credit I think. 3rd attempt FINALLY GOT MY FREAK ON IN HERE!!!! I was surprised at this location for something special with my hubby, and let me explain the horrible experience I had. First we get into a two story room with a downstairs and upstairs load all of our stuff we brought with us I go to start the hot tub, and of course it isnt working. We call up front waiting and waiting two girls came to check it out after 30 min or so just to tell us its broken and it doesn't work.... very nice so you mean to tell me no one is properly checking the rooms before the next stay? Really nice... Anyways I got over it whatever right, now we are in the room for 1.5 hours its getting hot and not sexy hot but hot as in the AC doesn't work... So you pay this top notch money for broken AC and broken hot tub that no one bothered to check before giving us the room. 2 hours later the lady on Saturday night 12/10/22 into Sunday offers us to go to franklin park location which is an hour away... very nice. She promised us a free stay which was not what we expected or cared for but she brought it up. Called the GM Larry Ryan, so unprofessional and actually rude. Won't stand behind what his employees said we've been calling for 2 weeks and no reply until right now he wants to call back and be very rude and hung up. I would not recommend this place, thanks LARRY you're something else. Next time make sure you tell your employees what to say and what not to say cause clearly you DO NOT HAVE EVERYTHING IN CONTROL. I love this place this is actually my second time here I was celebrating a birthday which I told the staff prior. So they gave me a balloon some complimentary wine which was an awesome touch. And if you ask they also will bring a microwave to the room since I didn't want to have to go out for anything we did like a continental breakfast of our own there. What I also loved there is the customer service they went out of their way to bring me some of the things that I have forgotten like a razor and a shower cap they quickly brought those things to the room we selected in the room called the Bliss which has a stand-up two person shower and deep two person jacuzzi tub along long with a tantra chair with all the sexy lighting surround sound far as the music was concerned and other outlets for your iPad or iPod into the suite. This place is my favorite in the south Chicagoland area to have a night alone with the misses! They are very discreet and well accommodating with the drinks and adult products available in the lobby (which they will also bring to the back door of your room if you're too shy to buy at the desk) The vibe lights make a really nice atmosphere, the jacuzzi tubs fill fast and are very large. The showers are absolutely AMAZING, wish I had these at home, like 2 shower heads on the walls and a third on the ceiling!!! The water pressure is awesome and the hot water never runs out!! The beds are clean and sooo soo comfortable. The mirror above the bed is very large and lets you see ALL the beauty! There is a lovemaking Tantra chair in most rooms and a "wedge" by Liberator on the bed so you both can enjoy every position for the best feeling!! ;) The TV's could DEFINITELY be bigger, but they finally have a decent selection of regular shows and adult shows from most of the different main genres!! The decor is AWESOME for enjoying psychedelics if you're into that!!! There is a fridge in room for your food and drinks, and they have personal hygiene item's waiting for you in the bathroom. The cost is good compared to a regular hotel room, considering how much more you get. I've stayed with them in every different room, the vogue is my favorite for the cost point, but the Bliss and the Luxe are definitely worth the splurge to check out! Ps they even have a love swing available for purchase now I believe, just check the black binder in the room for all the other great amenities!!! My husband took me to the Franklin Park location for my birthday and we had an amazing time. We decided to book at the Aura since it's closer to our home. It's a perfect romantic getaway at a very discrete location. We booked the vogue suite which included a queen size bed, bar table with bar stools, love seat, tantra chair, hot tub, modern bathroom with shower, bath robs, fridge, beautiful modern decor and great mood set lighting. The rooms are very private but we heard a lot of noise from the room above us. If your looking to book last minute you might be out of luck because they do get booked fairly quickly. So plan ahead and book weeks in advance. Also, they only allow you to stay if you are member which is a downside! But overall we enjoyed the evening and will be coming back very soon. read more

I usually go to the Axis location which me and my wife love going there. We came here because other locations were booked. My reservation was 6pm yesterday 7/29/20 I got there to check in and my room wasn't even ready and I knew they were talking about me because they kept looking up at me. She said the room wouldn't be ready til 7 pm due to them being behind. Didnt offer me any kind of discount I even purchased rose petals and wasn't even offered it free due to room not being ready. All she offered me was a juice while I waited. It hit 7 pm and I went back inside she gave me the key to my room but not one receipt. I asked for one she said they dont give any. She said thank you and thats all, like can you olease tell me how to get to my room at least, not even that. It would've been nice to know ahead of time that my room wasn't ready and I wouldn't have left my house that early. I let her know this and she then changed her story and said its because they need to sanitize the rooms 3 tines a day. So I just don't see why lie. I live 8 mins from the Axis location so the drive was not that close. Then getting into the room I like to look around and see if everything was clean properly. This would have been my first time staying here. I was super excited for this and ready to get away. When I got to the front desk to check in, the lady overnight was super rude and disrespectful. She basically told me that I couldn't get the room with my ID. I had informed her that when I signed up for this membership a year ago I was able to sign up with a license or state ID. Also, when I called earlier that day, I asked should I bring my state ID and debit card and the lady told me yes. So all of this could have been avoided if I was informed that the policy had changed. It's been a week and I have been trying to reach management and I haven't got a call back. I still haven't got my deposit back either. I understand that you all rules have change but at the same time, there should be some type of understanding that I signed up before the rules changed and I also asked what I needed to bring and I was told something different. The first thing you'll notice as soon as you open the door but even before you get in is the smell. it is a mixture of bleach, cleaner and stripper dust. the room is great for some fun times, but is a weird mix of sleezy, classy, and romantic. mirrors on the ceiling, adult toy gift box, tantra chair, you know what youre here for. the next morning when trying to get ready is less pleasant as there are no "real" lights, but only mood lights, and there is no door to the bathroom. the shower, toilet, and sink are located on the other side of a half wall directly behind the bed. I felt like this place was not a place for a married couple. I felt like it was a place people go to in order to have affairs or things like that...that's just my opinion. I'd rather had gone to a nice hotel and paid for that. We were going to stay two nights but ended up only staying one. After staying at the Sybaris for about the same cost I would never go back to Aura. We stayed in the bliss room. It was very clean and modern but I found it really weird that the toilet has no door and you can be seen using the bathroom from the bed. I really prefer to poop in privacy and I don't care to see or hear my boyfriend use the bathroom. That was just really awkward. The shower was the best part of the room. It was awesome. BUT if you are going to spend the money go get a pool room at the Sybaris. You can't even compare the two places. I will not return to Aura ever again. read more

The room was nice and clean, the staff was great, its a very quiet, hush, hush secure place, but the walls are paper thin, so in the middle of the night I woke up and heard numerous people moaning and screaming and all kinds of other strange sounds. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Long story short, my boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at this location last year. The next morning I woke up with small, red bites around my ankles and wrists. Before you ask, yes they were....bed bug bites. I called the location and spoke with Larry the director over all 3 locations, who advised he had the cleaners check the room and couldn't find any bed bugs. I offered to come in to show Larry the bites because he used a tone as if my story was fabricated. He declined and stated that was not necessary. I requested a refund for the room and Larry advises he could not refund the room but would be able to apply a $175 credit to my boyfriend's membership account. I initially declined the credit because at this point I'm traumatized and don't wish to return to this location. Larry, advised the credit could be used at any other location and mentioned axis opening in December 2018 and that it would be really nice. Without any other option for resolution, I accepted the credit. Fast forward, we planned to book at stay for this sweetest day at another location and was told no credit was on the account. I didn't think to follow up prior to because I was unsure if we would return at all and I spoke with the Director and why would he lie? Right! So, I called to speak with someone the other day and was declined because I was not the member. I advised them I spoke with someone regarding this matter and I wasn't the member then Either. Finally got my boyfriend to do a 3 way call and authorize for me to speak with Larry (today) since WE had the conversation personally. Larry stated there was no notes on the account and there was nothing he could do. His tone was sarcastic and he was not helpful in the least. He didn't even try to help resolve the situation. He refused to give information for someone over him that could help. He kept implying my call didn't happen because they never breach policy and speak with nonmembers. When I told Larry what I would like for him to do, he basically stated he wasn't going to give me a credit out the blue. He showed no concern for the past issue as well as that the policy was breached and I was lied to. He didn't do anything to try to save the customer but offer to waive a cancellation fee which was something we didn't call about. He was just as bad as the lady we talked to the day prior. They have poor customer service from top to bottom. Knowing that Larry is over all locations, we will not be visiting any of them. On February 2, 2022, I booked the Luxe, with a room rate of $351.00. In addition, I paid a $50.00 membership fee. This was my first time staying at this hotel and my reservation was for 7:00 pm. I arrived on time, only to be told the room was not ready 3 times. Finally, after waiting almost 3 hours we got the room. We tried not to let the situation ruin our night; and the hotel provided a 15% discount, chocolate covered strawberries, rose petals on the bed, and an upgrade to our champagne at no additional charge. Normal check-out was at noon, but we were told that we could stay until 1:00 pm. At this point, I felt okay about the extreme delay. However, the next day at 1:05 pm, we received a call from the front desk asking if we were leaving and I informed the representative that we would be leaving in 5 minutes. I tried to explain the horrible experience we had checking in and the lady accused me of yelling at her. I said that I was not yelling, just trying to explain the situation, and then she hung up on me. She was never listening to me because before she hung up, she said the hotel charged an additional fee after 15 minutes and it had only been 5 minutes. There was only 1 lady at the front desk when I checked out 5 minutes later, and she said her name was Rebecca. I told her that I was going to let her manager know that she hung up on me and she continued to be rude. I finally lost it and said a couple choice words to her, and she had the audacity to tell me that my membership would be canceled. On my way home I called the company and asked for the corporate office to complain and was told that there wasn't one. I left a message for the director, explained the entire situation, and no one ever called me back. I was more that patient with this company and I feel that someone should have at least reached out to me to offer an apology. read more

I have high quality taste, high expectations and was pleased with our stay as well as the value for ur dollar. The hot tub and steam shower worked out well for us! We really enjoyed the space. My boyfriend and I stayed at Aura 2 weeks ago and I was very disappointed. The first problem was due to the cement wall infront of all the rooms I could not get any phone service in the room, I have verizon and have never had a problem getting service anywhere else in the United States. The room seemed to be missing some essential things, the room I stayed in did not have a door to the bathroom so if you're like me and don't want your significant other watching you use the bathroom this would be a negative. The bathroom also does not have a towel bar or anything to hold a towel to whip your hands. The complemetary porn stations on the television were horrible, it seems it was filmed in the 90s and very outdated, the television volumn also does not go up high enough to hear throughout the room. Second time staying at aura. First time we stayed in vogue and loved the room, had no issues with sound. This second visit we tried to book luxe but it was all Booked for the night so we stayed in bliss and sound seemed to travel through the walls a lot easier. The room next to us was blaring music from 11-1am and again at 10am-1230, and trains and traffic was easily heard through the night and morning. The shower and tub in bliss were nicer than vogue, the vibe lighting was better in vogue. The tubs definitely get slippery, getting out definitely need to be cautious with. Downfall with the shower in bliss is the shower bench edge is sharp and tore into my legs leaving bruises and almost cutting my skin open, just sitting on it the edge is sharp against skin. The rooms overall are very clean, the beds are super comfortable, love that the rooms had fridges to store our wine for the evening. The staff overall were nice and professional. Overall we enjoy both stays, cannot wait to stay the luxe room. read more
