I found this gem when looking for a hotel that would allow me to leave my care on the premises until I return. They have a stay and park program that I love. I stay the first night, catch the airport shuttle the next morning, and leave my car. No more paying to park a couple miles away and waiting on the shuttle bus to get there to pick us off or drop us off. When you return from your trip, you catch the free Doubletree hotel shuttle back to your car, get in your car, and leave. No need to check back in with the front desk. The shuttles to and from the airport are complimentary. Just give your driver a nice tip.

The DoubleTree by Hilton in Alsip Illinois is a hard place to review. There are some good things…read moreto note but these positive attributes are outweighed by the negatives. Let me start with the good stuff. The rooms were quite nice. To be honest, this is NOT a 4 star hotel, so do not expect a Ritz Carlton. But the furniture and the furnishings were quite nice and new. The towels were thick and heavy. The toiletries were very nice and plentiful. Likewise, the lobby is nicely done and big enough to handle lots of people at one time. We stayed at the hotel because of a big event/meal and, I have to say the event and food there were really good. The ballroom was nicely appointed and the food was very tasty (a hard thing to do when you're feeding about 300 people). But the hotel event staff ran a tight ship and I noticed a fair number of people going back through the buffet line for seconds. That is a good sign. Okay now to the bad stuff. The front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. They looked at you, if they did at all, like you were bothering them. Housekeeping was sub-par; slow and they did not really clean anything. The bar and the dining room were also not good. The food in the bar and the breakfast in the dining room were not worth going back for at all, ever! One final thing to note is that the hotel is isolated in an area that is not so nice. Surrounding businesses are not interesting, there are no good restaurants and there is no place to shop if that is your thing. The hotel itself might be worth a 4 star rating here but the negative aspects drag it down to a 3 star review. Do I recommend this hotel? No.

Plus honestly this is the best place in the area unless you want to stay at a ghetto motel which charges by the hour. Just stay here trust me you won't regret it. I got a suite and it had a couch, jacuzzi, great relaxing lighting in the room, and of course free WiFi. The breakfast is from 7-10 and is convenient. There's just something about a yummy waffle to start your morning. There's tons of seating so sleep in and grab some coffee. I-294 is just down the street so you have access to downtown in minutes as well. Decent gas station just 100 meters away if you need gas before taking off as well. Overall great deal for a great place settled outside Chicago.

Again emphasizing the nastiness of the female front desk staff. My stay was from 9/16-9/19/2026. Rooms 106 and 108. A return visit is not in the future
