This is a nice, affordable motel full of friendly fellow travelers. It's located in quite pleasant Oak Forest.

One of our party thought it smelled like cigarettes; I could not detect that but I was also dealing with some kind of seasonal allergy. Some areas in the bathroom appear to need a redo or reseal. One of the queen beds kind of sunk in the middle, but we did not see why until we were leaving and looking underneath to make sure we hadn't dropped anything, it had some broken slats. The free breakfast bar is a step up from some places with a decent selection of pastries, toast, cereal, the make your own waffles thing, plus some kind of breakfast meat, mini omelets, fried potatoes and grits. For someone like me who drags in the morning, it's a great thing. However, one of our group needs a gluten free diet. There were some things she could eat, but a staff person believed the waffle batter was gluten free when it almost certainly wasn't. The coffee in the lobby is good and includes dark roast , light roast, and decaf options The location is quiet enough and the free parking is nice. Most important for us is that it's close to Credit Union 1 Amphitheater. I even saw some people making the journey on foot! At 2 plus miles, it's doable but maybe not great for us older folks! Anyhow, it's a very short easy trip by car or by rideshare.

The main lobby has everything you might need to spice up your stay (yes, even adult essentials if you forget yours). They offer 4-hour, 8-hour, and overnight stays. It gets pricier on weekends, and availability is limited--so book early. I had the room decorated for my birthday, and it was perfect. It came with champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, a "Happy Birthday" balloon, and rose petals on the bed and floor--such a romantic and thoughtful setup. There's only so much I can share (and post!) about the room and jacuzzi, but just know: a time was had. Definitely a birthday to remember. The rainfall shower and bench added the perfect touch of luxury. If you're looking for a private, elevated experience--Aura won't disappoint.

At 1:00am the room phone started ringing uncontrollably. I was startled out of my sleep. The phone on the second floor was inoperable. I had to run to the first floor. Upon answering Hannah proceeds to ask .... " Did you pay for your room" ... excuse me... did you pay for your room..... I answered her " yes I have the receipt " since it was Father's Day i'd booked the room a month in advance. She then said i'm coming to your room to see the receipt. I couldn't understand what the issue was. if I had not paid then why was I given a room key? I thought to myself... she proceeds to bang on the side door. Which made me even more uncomfortable. I told her my husband and I would bring the receipt to the front desk. Upon speaking to her she then changed her story. She said she thought l'd never check in. Just lying... if that was the case, then why did you tell me to produce a receipt... I was so uneasy, I never went back to sleep. I Left a message with manager Larry concerning the matter. It's been a week and he's never reached out to me. I do NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE reserving a room at any of these locations. I paid over $500 for a night stay and was treated horribly with resolve

I found this gem when looking for a hotel that would allow me to leave my care on the premises until I return. They have a stay and park program that I love. I stay the first night, catch the airport shuttle the next morning, and leave my car. No more paying to park a couple miles away and waiting on the shuttle bus to get there to pick us off or drop us off. When you return from your trip, you catch the free Doubletree hotel shuttle back to your car, get in your car, and leave. No need to check back in with the front desk. The shuttles to and from the airport are complimentary. Just give your driver a nice tip.

The DoubleTree by Hilton in Alsip Illinois is a hard place to review. There are some good things…read moreto note but these positive attributes are outweighed by the negatives. Let me start with the good stuff. The rooms were quite nice. To be honest, this is NOT a 4 star hotel, so do not expect a Ritz Carlton. But the furniture and the furnishings were quite nice and new. The towels were thick and heavy. The toiletries were very nice and plentiful. Likewise, the lobby is nicely done and big enough to handle lots of people at one time. We stayed at the hotel because of a big event/meal and, I have to say the event and food there were really good. The ballroom was nicely appointed and the food was very tasty (a hard thing to do when you're feeding about 300 people). But the hotel event staff ran a tight ship and I noticed a fair number of people going back through the buffet line for seconds. That is a good sign. Okay now to the bad stuff. The front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. They looked at you, if they did at all, like you were bothering them. Housekeeping was sub-par; slow and they did not really clean anything. The bar and the dining room were also not good. The food in the bar and the breakfast in the dining room were not worth going back for at all, ever! One final thing to note is that the hotel is isolated in an area that is not so nice. Surrounding businesses are not interesting, there are no good restaurants and there is no place to shop if that is your thing. The hotel itself might be worth a 4 star rating here but the negative aspects drag it down to a 3 star review. Do I recommend this hotel? No.

Save yourself some heartburn - AVOID this hotel !!…read more On 12 May, 2026 (approx 8:30 PM) I called The Hilton Garden Inn, Tinley Park, IL (HGI) to cancel 2 rooms (each over $1000 over 3 nights) I booked on 7 May. When front desk agent (I recall as "Erica") promptly emailed me the cancelation confirmation, I explained that there was only ONE cancelation # and that it showed nothing linking it to what I booked: no reservation #, no listing or description of the canceled rooms, no canceled cost .. nothing at all by which I can verify what this cancelation confirmation # actually applied to. Customers need and deserve such information as a matter of business practice. Hilton disagrees and seemingly wants only that I trust their internal word for it that they canceled the correct rooms. Minimally, it would involve more time lost straightening this out ... with people like "Erica". "Erica", asserted that it DOES cover both rooms .. I looked again .. not true. She then said simply, and impatiently .. talking over me and cutting off my response that it does and .. essentially .. boiled down to that I had to take her word for it. Likely, Hilton uses a too-brief standard cancelation template. TOTALLY inadequate from the customers' perspective. My room reservation showed, in detail, what I reserved - why won't Hilton show me, in detail, what I canceled ?!? When I asked for a manager, "Erica" said there was none .. Really ?!?! As a retired 33 year airline pilot, I've NEVER known ANY hotel in ANY part of the world having no night manager available. Finally, "Erica", being completely disinterested that I'm still left with a cancelation # that does nothing to show/prove what exactly I canceled .. said that she couldn't help and hurried me off the phone. This encounter with this hotel is now my second and last ever. At check-out last year in early April, I recall having to spread out all the paperwork and mark all the errors .. took nearly 30 minutes .. with followup days later for resolution with this hotel. Ultimately, aside from their rude and snippy desk clerk, this problem seems to belong to Hilton corp. for its entirely unsatisfactory cancelation-template (presumably) email. Do yourself a favor - stay elsewhere.

Also, the front desk during the day is rude and puts you on hold for several minutes and then tells you to call back in 20 minutes. Apparently instead of maintenance showing up at 7am on Sunday they let them come in whenever they want. The door on our bathroom didn't close correctly, the door for the refrigerator cabinet didn't close correctly and the beds need to be replaced in room 126. This is a $89/room hotel at best. I will stay at the new Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn express on 191st and Lagrange next time.
