I would put 10 stars if it were available they were so nice and the food was the best I have ever had me and my dad came here from Indiana and it was amazing. The service was amazing. And the ambiance was amazing.

NATIVE TEXAN and I have to say this is the BEST BBQ I've ever had!!!! Family owned, small place, old school smokehouse feel. Had the sausage sandwich, potato salad and tried the brisket. The brisket was juicy, amazingly tender, cooked to perfection!!! And let's not forget the BANANA Pudding!! This hidden gem is worth the stop and worth the wait. The service was friendly and welcoming. Outdoor seating only but take it to go!! We ate in the car because of the wind but would do it all over again!

Dry brisket. This photo is 2 hours after ordering.

I ordered a pound a brisket to go, and a brisket frito pie. They cut the bark off my brisket and saved it for themselves I guess, which I didn't appreciate. The brisket was very dry. The frito pie was good, but would have been a lot better if the brisket wasn't dry and overcooked. Hopefully they make some improvements and I'll try again next year.

One our way to the Valley from Houston we decided to stop and give this place a try. We had the "BBQ Roundup". Which came with Brisket and Sausage for Protein and had the potato salad, pinto beans, and dirty rice instead of the Cold slaw as sides. They give you the bbq sauce on the side. The brisket was awesome. Had to just add a little of the yummy bbq sauce. The sausage was good but not the best. But over all good stop to get your Texas BBQ on. And no the blond is not mean. She is great! Along with the rest of the crew. We had a laugh about previous posts about the "blond".

Great place with PERFECT food! There was no one there when we first drove by nor when we stopped there, but the open sign was on so we stepped right on in. We were super surprised at how FRESH it all was! For it seeming to be dead, the food was amazing. The brisket was super soft and had amazing flavor, the sausage was exactly how sausage should be, the beans were on a whole different level of greatness! The potato salad was just right on everything. The bbq sauce it came with had the most delicious taste to it, good little strength in it! We had been craving BBQ and Aunt Joe's did way more than satisfy us. We left stuffed but wishing we had room for more! I can't wait to go back!

Aunt Jo's is a cool spot on Hwy 77. It is a fantastic looking piece of property with a giant pig greeting all passers by. Warning - Only open Thursday - Sunday 11 AM - 7 PM, or until they run out of food. The food is good homemade BBQ. The menu is limited, but then again, so are the hours. Basically you can get: Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, Smoked Sausage, Chicken. Their sides are Slaw, Pinto Beans or Potato Salad. And your plate will come with two slices of bread, onions, pickle and a jalapeno if you like. They also do sandwiches (chopped, sliced and sausage). They also have assorted homemade pies. So, how was the food and why only a 3 Star, A-OK rating? Let me start by saying, the setting is fantastic. Lots of great covered outdoor seating and the area is clean and very well maintained. The place itself is fantastic looking as well. It is very old school ranch house that has aged well. The service is great and friendly. The menu is just what I wanted to see. Nothing over the top, just BBQ. So the food, come on man, get on with it. It was good. So... if I look at Snows BBQ and set that as my 5 star benchmark, use anything in Lockhart as the 4 star (which is what I am doing by the way), then this is a 3 star place. This does not mean anything bad. This means it is good solid BBQ. If you are in the area or do not want to go to Fannin or Mutts, then make the trip. You will be glad you did. And before anyone jumps my case for the 3 Star rating, I have been to ALL of the places mentioned above and they are ALL better which means this is NOT as good as it gets. But it means it is still worth going to and enjoying.

Very nice people and it is in a cool location. The barbecue, however, was not good at all........tough, dry and not much flavor.

I greatly enjoyed my meal at Mumphord's Place! As a new visitor to Victoria I was excited to…read morereceive multiple recommendations from locals along with stellar reviews on Google and Yelp for a good BBQ restaurant. Located on the older side of town a block past DeTar Navarro Hospital on a corner. Don't judge it by the outside, it's inside an older building, I knew I was there from the smell of the Bbq cooking in the air. Inside was cheerful clean and filled with picnic and smaller tables, seat yourself. You place your order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. The gentleman taking my order was friendly and welcoming. Turns out he was the owner! In 3 minutes a sweet young lady was bringing me my food and utensils. They have all of the meats plus all the homemade sides one would wish to order! I went with the two meats (ribs and brisket) accompanied by potato salad and green beans, with banana pudding for dessert later. It's not a full service restaurant but I was checked on and looked after multiple times by servers. Nice big generous helpings. This meal was heavenly, sides like your Memaw would make for family and moist and meaty ribs and brisket, seasoned and cooked perfectly...no salt or pepper needed here, just a little of their delicious sauce! My mouth is watering as I recall it! I will visit them again every time I get to Victoria! Wish I could take them home with me.

I got brisket and sausage with a double order of green beans. The green beans were the star if the show. Nicely seasoned with a bit of a fresh garlic flavor. Good. The brisket was a bit dry and not very flavorful and the sausage was fair. This may have not been the norm but I cant say I'd eat here again.

First time trying RNC BBQ -- I've done the Victoria BBQ circuit (Mumford's, Uncle Mutt's, etc.), so…read moreI had to see what all the talk was about. Everyone kept saying "get the loaded potato," but I went for the three-meat plate instead: brisket, sausage, and ribs with potato salad and green beans. The food? Huge portions, fresh, and hot -- you're not leaving hungry. The sausage? Absolute standout. Best I've had in Victoria from a BBQ joint since Mumford's. Brisket was solid, ribs were good, sides hit the comfort zone. If Mumford's is the refined classic and Uncle Mutt's is the hometown hug, RNC is the solid weekend warrior -- generous, smoky, and worth the repeat. I'll definitely be back, maybe next time for that famous potato. Final verdict: 4 out of 5 -- strong showing, great sausage, and good vibes.

After discussing options, we offered the brisket nachos and bbq brisket sandwiches. They were accommodating to some of condiment requests that they don't normally offer as well. The day of the party, they arrived and went straight to work taking everyone's orders. The workers were friendly and efficient, and the food was top tier. We had plenty of compliments on the food and my girly was happy.
