10/10 I got so much food and every bite was hot, fresh, and delicious! I got a double cheeseburger with fries, fried chicken, a catfish filet, candied yams, and greens! I can't wait to make my way back more more! Bonus: Aunt Bea's is the sweetest lady! It felt like I was sitting in my aunties kitchen. Good conversation, amazing food, bold flavors! You won't be disappointed!

Today was my first time visiting Aunt Bea's Cafe, and I'm very glad I did. I ordered two eggs and cheesy grits, biscuits and gravy, and a side of collard greens. There is counter seating facing the open kitchen, as well as table seating. I chose to sit at the counter. This place is perfect for anyone who likes home-cooked food in a charming atmosphere. Aunt Bea isn't just the name, she actually cooks the food!

Aunt Bea's is the true definition of don't judge a book by its cover. This Rock Island staple will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and is definitely worth the visit. We ordered the biscuits and gravy just to try because other customers were raving about them and boy did they not disappoint. Made from scratch and they are probably the best I have had. I then ordered a bacon double cheeseburger and dinner salad. I am not a huge burger fan at all and I absolutely loved it. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The salad was good as well. The pricing was beyond reasonable and Aunt Bea herself was behind the counter cooking. Please consider supporting this small business, you won't regret it.

It's down across from the river in an older building. There's a good amount of parking and tons of character! We sat outside on a nice night - there were probably 8-10 picnic tables as well as a good amount of seating inside. The beer selection was solid and included a number of nonalcoholic options. The food here is gastropub style stuff and was really good! The Cobb salad was a memorable one with a ton of meat. The kids got Philly cheesesteaks - those were unexpectedly delicious and included homemade cheese whiz. Another kiddo got a chicken bacon ranch flatbread - excellent and reminded delicious out of the fridge the following day! The pizzas looked good too and were (as we found) all available as flatbreads. The service was excellent and despite the busy evening, they got to us quick and took good care of us. We don't often plan to return to out of town spots, but this is one we'll definitely be back to!

One of the appetizers was a morel mushroom soup which was downright exquisite. They also had a 30 oz lightly smoked lobster tail. We didn't get that but noticed several people did and it looked amazing. There is a range of seafood, beef, chicken, duck, etc.; all with interesting presentations. And the desserts are great too. We had the carrot cake and a chocolate chip cookie with toppings. The cookie was about 6 inches in diameter! Duck City Bistro is an all around fun time with great food and epic presentations. From the second we walked in, we were greeted by our waitress and chef came out and gave us a detailed rundown of featured items. The ambiance is great. We had the escargot which was as good as any I've ever had. The lobster bisque was great as well. I ordered the duck, my wife had the filet mignon. The duck was cooked perfectly and was delicious, 10/10 and would have a hard time ordering anything else when we go back (I'm a steak guy btw). The filet mignon was ordered at rare+ and was cooked absolutely perfectly. The sauces included with the steak and duck were both great. We also ordered the key lime and salted caramel cheesecake. Both were 10/10. I will also add that I am very critical of restaurants, I could not find anything to complain about from the service, food quality, price point, and overall experience. We will be back every time I am in the area! Service 10/10 Food quality and taste 10/10 Thanks chef and staff, was truly a memorable experience.
