When I was in middle school, Auletto's was the default banquet space for our many Drama and Music Award nights, and the occasional class dance. I remember, as a 13-year-old, hating the same chicken parm buffer dinner with the lifeless potatoes and the tasteless green beans. So when my then-fiance suggested Auletto's as a possible wedding venue, I balked at the idea. It wasn't until we sat down with Jim Auletto, the owner, that I realized I had no way of appreciating Auletto's for a wedding from the lens and experience of a 13-year-old. We had our wedding here in January 2008, and it was such a memorable, beautiful, wonderful experience! From day 1 when we first sat down with Jim to the last few minutes in the space the night of our wedding, the staff had been so helpful. We had a lot of our own ideas that we wanted to bring to the table, and Jim has done a LOT of weddings there - he was able to lay it out for us what he's seen work and not work in the space. We brought in outside lighting, but decided to go with their preferred centerpiece floral vendor rather than taking on that task ourselves. Even their wedding cake vendor, Termini's, was fantastic. All we did was email them a picture of what we wanted and our cake type and frosting picks, and that was it. The space itself offers a really unique wedding experience, particularly when it comes to their wine cellar for the cocktail hour. Our guests raved about they ceremony overlooking Lake Almonesson in the Terrace Room, then heading downstairs to the wine cellar, and then back up on the other side to the fully decorated Grand Ballroom. It was a very neat series of transitions. I'm sure Auletto's is lovely in the spring and summer, particularly for outdoor weddings and with their new outdoor tented area, but the dark interiors with hints of japonnaise decor suited our winter wedding perfectly. I realize now, that when you're paying the big bucks for big ticket events like a wedding, the food is a LONG way away from the default booster association buffet options of middle school. The menu choices are many, and our tasting, as a result, was delicious. The night of the wedding, the food was impeccably prepared with generous portions, and the wine selections perfectly paired. We went with Filet Mignon, Chicken Savannah, and Sea Bass- my husband and I can speak for the filet (mouthwatering, buttery, HUGE), but our guests loved the other two options as well. Auletto's was also quite accommodating to any special dietary needs. The prices do vary by season; peak wedding months will certainly pay more. But since we were in the lowest-off-season wedding month, Jim threw in a lot of deals and extra upgrades to keep our business, making our wedding truly beautiful and memorable as a result. In fact, Jim made the whole wedding venue process so easy, it was the one part of our wedding we didn't have to devote much stress to - we knew we were in good hands. Just a note: I have emotions behind this review, so it might be too highly rated. My brother, sister and I booked Auletto's for our parents 40th anniversary surprise party. My folks had their wedding reception here back in 1971. I can't speak to that party as I wasn't born yet, but this time we had a great experience. The owner and staff were all amazing and helpful and the epitome of good service save one--the bartender. If not for this particular bartender, we'd have a five-star rating on our hands here. This guy was a straight jerk. Keep in mind we paid for this event and the staff. We rented the space, paid for the food, supplied the DJ, etc. This guy was leaning on me for tips every single time I got a drink. First of all douche bag, trust that you will be tipped heartily at the end of the night like any other private event. He made comments about how my drink choices were "difficult" (I was ordering Ketel One and Diet Cokes and water and bourbon) in front of guests, and when someone would order a beer he would shoot a look over to me and remark to the guest "Thank God your drinks are easy." Toward the end of the night, my brother and I went up to order more drinks and he flat out told us we hadn't hooked him up properly just as my brother was sliding him a wad that he didn't see. He changed his attitude upon receiving the money--and I'm not even sure what Auletto's official policy is on tipping staff. I really hope he wasn't throwing that kind of shade to the guests at my parents' party--I'd be mortified. My sister has contacted the owner about this particular bartender and I don't want to tarnish a good place because of one bad apple, but he really did rain on our parade. I'll post back with the results re: the bartender and contacting management, at the very least to give his name so that you can blackball this loser if and when you book an event here. This asshole aside, we had a great night. We added on the wine cellar option for an hour, and there was plenty of decent wine and a fabulous antipasto spread. Dinner was buffet style, but the food was impressive. Handmade pasta, salads, fruit, carving stations with prime rib, turkey, etc. For the price we paid it was borderline amazing. The staff was really flexible and went above the call of duty to help us keep this a surprise. Kudos to you all--I can see why this business has been around for so long. read more

First time here last weekend and was really impressed how cool the place was. An all inclusive wedding venue where you can do your rehearsal, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all in one place. Definitely awesome when you can walk to everything and don't have to drive to a remote reception location. Overall I thought the venue was beautiful, both indoors and out. The food was tasty, the bartenders and staff were accommodating. From someone who's already married and has no stake here, I'd highly recommend this place for your wedding. read more

I've been to this venue twice over the years; a prom and a business affair. Now, I'm engaged and about to get married. So far so good. I was highly impressed with the how well the grounds are kept, the attention to detail, and how flexible they are with what I can do and the cost that would come with. I saw some other reviews here regarding out-of-date, but I think it's right on the mark if you want a rustic/winery feel. I also am very thrilled that a lot of what I need is already part of the package taking a lot of worry away and allowing me to get a better idea of what my over all cost will be. read more

Have DJ'd 2 weddings here and also a high school prom. The main ballroom is super nice with a nice stage for the entertainment. Huge open dance floor and the food is great from what I remember the couple times I ate. Just a side note, usually pretty chilly in here!!!! read more

So disappointed, the venue was beautiful but the facilities attention to detail was lacking and the food was tasteless. Attended two events back to back. The first event, held in the Terrace Room, was held in the evening and was beautifully decorated, the wine cellar added a special charm to the evening. The food which consisted of stuffed chicken, salomon with a white sauce, steamed vegetables, a pasta dish, pork loin and roast beef had little seasoning or flavor. Easy to overlook when trying to please a large group of 100+. However, the dessert was served from a rolling trolly attended by two waitstaff, this proved a slow process, the event was almost over before the entire room was served. The 2nd event was more of a problem. An awards banquet held in the main ballroom, which consisted of many speakers, was held on a Saturday from 1:00-5:00. A loud party, with DJ, was also scheduled at the same time in an adjoining room. The music and shouting through the wall was rude and disruptive to the award guests and speakers. Compounded by the following: squeaky bathroom door, loud bathroom hand dryers, wait staff clearing food buffet, dumping empty bottles kitchen noise and talking; all lead to an unpleasant experience. I would recommend anyone considering this venue to discuss these concerns in advance. read more

I went to a wedding here and I was really impressed by this place. The couple who was getting married decided to have the ceremony outside and the grounds were very well manicured. The backdrop was the nice pond they have. It really was nice - they did a good job with the ceremony. They had the cocktail hour in the wine cellar, which I thought was pretty cool. They had some pretty good cocktail food - I remember really liking the lamb chops and the bacon wrapped scallops. They didn't have a ton of cocktail food, but definitely enough for the people that were there. The only minor gripe I had with the cocktail hour was that they only served wine. Yes, I know it was in a wine cellar, but what were the people who didn't drink wine supposed to drink? I also understand this could have been set up by the couple getting married. The reception was in one of their rooms upstairs. I believe this place can do multiple weddings simultaneously, but I think we were the only one that particular night. The meal was great. I had a filet that was cooked perfectly. I ordered it medium rare and it was perfect - a lot of places mess that up now-a-days. It also was probably close to 16oz and I had trouble finishing it. Was just here for a wedding and boy did that food suck. It was probably the worst sit down dinner at a wedding I've ever had. Every course was a disaster. Salad was tiny with super water downed dressing. The what was supposed to be minestrone soup was an all broth flavorless disappointment. Now for the main courses. 7 out of the 10 people at our table ordered the Fillet. Some ordered medium some ordered rare what we all got however was well done, dry, and flavorless fillets that no one good finish. Had my friends wedding here. It was very nice. The service was outside facing the lake and a fish pond. Reception was in the cellar and had awesome wine selection with great cheese pairing. Our woman's club was looking for a special site for our 20th anniversary dinner. We knew we found the right spot the first time we sat down with Jim Auletto, the owner. The room we chose usually is reserved for parties of 60 or more -- we only had 30 plus members. Jim worked with us. Since the event was to be on a mid-week evening, Jim offered us a lower price menu. However, he then added meal choices from the more expensive menus. The addition of the wine cellar really made our evening wonderful. The outstanding display of cheeses and the selection of wines was also excellent. Jim even added our choice of three hot Hors D'Oeuvres at no additional charge. He did everything he could to make our event special. The women loved the wine cellar! The evening of our dinner, service was outstanding -- starting with greeters to direct our members down to the wine cellar. Jim, our maitre'd did all he could to provide excellent service. We realized we had forgotten to request a flag which we would need for our meeting portion of the evening. While we were in the wine cellar, Jim found and set up the needed flag. I whole-heartedly recommend Auletto Caterers with absolutely no reservations. I am sure our club will be back for future special events. read more

Just left a graduation ceremony catered there. Food was pretty bad. Out of beef, pork, salmon and raviolis, the Caesar Salad was pretty much what everyone went back for. They must've gotten the hint, because they packed up most of the food pretty quickly for a 100+ person gathering. The help was courteous, but leaning towards the unprofessional side. I had my wedding the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, 9/6/15. I had about 100 guests in the Terrace room. It was a beautiful day to get married! Leading up to the wedding day, Jim, Jaime, and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. Jim is VERY generous and really worked with us on things such as food and pricing. Many aspects of the wedding caused stress, but I can honestly say that not one bit of the venue process was stressful. They let us come whenever we wanted to go over things, or just to walk around the property. The food tasting was nicely put together in their Wine cellar, and was absolutely delicious! On our wedding day, everything was exactly how we expected it to be. Everything that I brought to be set up ahead of time was in its proper place, and the decorations were beautiful. The staff was extremely attentive throughout the day, and made the whole process really easy and smooth. Now, lets talk about the cocktail hour/dinner. I have heard from so many of my guests that the cocktail hour was the best they had ever been to! Everyone raved about the Hors d'oeuvres. We had lots of hot hors d'oeuvres, as well as stations of cheeses, sushi, bruschetta, etc. This was all down in their Wine Cellar, which everyone loved as well. Jim even let us add a couple of other hot Hors d'oeuvres to the list because I am a picky eater. Dinner was absolutely fantastic! We had the Filet, Chilean Sea Bass, and Savannah chicken. The salad was great, the appetizer of Lobster ravioli was very yummy, and dinner was out of this world! They even brought out all three options to me and my husband, which was great because we got to try everything! I recently went to an event at Aulettos. At first I thought it looked lovely from the outside. When we entered the banquet room, the décor was so aged that it shocked me. The etched glass and outdated print photos on the wall were unattractive. The room, however, was set up very nicely. The tables were decorated and the banquet salad/appetizer tables looked nice. I still don't understand why they already had the hot coffee carafes on the table before we even got there. It's like they didn't want to be bothered bringing coffee out during desert. We went down to the wine cellar, where the steps were somewhat hard to manage in heels, and the hand railings were shaky. My friend fell and broke her ankle that night, and was taken to the hospital. The wine cellar had such a low clearance, my boyfriend almost hit his head on the way down the steps. The food choices were crackers, olives, caviar that was so-so, some cured meats and cheeses and dips like hummus. They also had hard boiled eggs sliced in half, not even deviled eggs. All of the food was right out of the package, thrown on a plate. Nothing freshly made. I could have gone to BJ's Wholesale and bought that crap. Dinner choices were dry, tough chicken cordon bleu, shrimp with rice, some different sliced meats in juice, that were very tough. The shrimp in the rice was good, but the shrimp were so mealy that they just dissolved in your mouth. Most of it was unattractive, so I didn't try them. I was glad I didn't, because I heard a lot of complaints at the table. Each table got to go up once. By the time someone actually wanted seconds, they covered the food and all the staff had disappeared. They even closed the gates so that you couldn't get to the food! What a waste of food and bad service. Our tables were attended to for water and dish removal very nicely though. Our bartenders were very fast, friendly and accurate. They really need to work on a higher quality of food choices, flavor and allowing people to eat the food that they paid for. I would not go back there.
