My experience with Dr. Puterman began a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away--before Covid…read morewas a word, let alone a plague. After consulting with a number of specialists, the consensus was clear. Dr. Puterman is the best at what he does in the DMV--and my particular case (don't ask) required the best. I confess, I was skeptical. But a little more than half a decade (and several surgeries later (don't ask), I have a functional mouth again. Not only teeth that work but teeth that look great. Best of all, the pain that tormented me for decades is gone. GONE. Obliterated. Throughout this ordeal, Dr. Puterman stuck by me. And I by him and his extraordinary staff and colleagues. Dr. Puterman was always honest. Always fair. Always honorable. Always kind. And always decent. This is not what I would have expected given the intrinsic challenges of my case and the fickle nature of human biology that doesn't always cooperate with titanium and bone grafts. And yet--here I am--finally some five plus years later. Grateful beyond words for my experience with Dr. Puterman. Don't get me wrong. I won't miss being in his chair for scores of additional hours. I'm a grateful patient. And what makes me especially grateful is that we made it--together. If you desire the best that modern dentistry has to offer, there is no one better--more capable, skillful, and honorable. I could not recommend anyone more highly. Puterman is the best.

If there is a better person than Dr. Madjid Matin in Chevy Chase for complex periodontal and…read morerestorative dentisty I have never found nor heard of them. He is simply the best. When my regular dentist saw a front tooth with a gum area so thin the tooth was at risk, he sent me to Dr. Matin who grafted on a piece of palate skin with great success and minimal pain. After that experience I chose him to do an implant that has never that me a moment's concern. Dr. Matin requires similar expertise in those he employs. The hygienist, Beth, is a genius. If I had had her advising me on keeping plaque to a minimum I'd have saved tens of thousands in dental bills. I will not go to anyone else so please do not fill up her calendar. Furthermore, everyone in the office is cheerfu, super-competent, and accommodating. Nisa, who "mans" the front desk even offered to walk me to the rest room, wait for me, and then accompany me to my car when I had a minor episode of positional vertigo. I cannot speak highly enough of everyone there and am so grateful to have found them. -- Susan

For the past several years I've been meeting with Dr. C. Alec Yen. What a great guy in so many ways. Available whenever i have a question by phone and email, great listener and very attentive. A few weeks ago I was anticipating a predictably painful procedure with him. However... Multiple pain-free anesthesia injections, totally pain-free procedure, and believe it or not, no pain that night and during all the recovery days. I couldn't believe it. Not even a need for Tylenol! I hope i didn't overdo this review. Now I'm afraid if i need him again he'll be fully booked. The reputation of the other docs is also very good, I just have not had any personal experience with them.

Let me start by saying I am extremely picky about, well, a lot of things. It's probably where my skepticism towards a lot of doctors stems from. After what was a lifetime or two of putting off the removal of my wisdom teeth- I found Dr. Prokopets! Truth be told, she found me and decided she'll end my misery. Dr. Prokopets is the consummate professional, highly skilled and exceptionally trained in her field. Her knowledge and how she meticulously did the surgery was much appreciated. She answered any and all questions prior to surgery & constantly checked in during the surgery to make sure I was still comfortable. Obviously it took forever for me to get numb but she was patient throughout it and did not start until I was "securely" numbed. So here I am- telling you I had a thorough and nice experience with a periodontist, because I really did. And I didn't think I would. Have I mentioned that Dr. Prokopets is also a genuinely kind person? So what are you waiting for?! If you have dental needs! :)
