The food was so delicious that way there are multiple nights. Ambience is nice and cozy. The staff…read moreis great and welcoming. The location is a little off the beaten path which made it seem more local and less touring. The prices are also fair

Augustiner Bräustuben was unfortunately one of the biggest disappointments of our Munich trip. I…read morereally wanted to love this place given its reputation, but the experience fell far short. We ordered the pork knuckle, pretzel with beer cheese, and beer. The pork knuckle arrived cold and lacked flavor, while the pretzel didn't seem particularly fresh either. The beer pour was especially disappointing--the amount of foam/head was ridiculous, and for a place associated with such a famous brewery, I expected a much better pour. The photos really speak for themselves. Service was the biggest issue. We repeatedly tried to get someone's attention to place our order, but the servers seemed to avoid eye contact and kept waiting for someone else to help us. Even getting the check was a struggle--we eventually had to get up and go to a counter ourselves. It felt like the staff had little interest in actually serving the customers. The atmosphere itself has the traditional Bavarian beer hall feel, but unfortunately, the poor food, disappointing beer pour, and especially the terrible service completely overshadowed it. I really wanted to like this place, but based on our experience, there are much better beer halls and beer gardens in Munich.

Wow! One of the best schnitzels and beer I have had. I have…read morebeen traveling around Austria and Germany and this is one of the best I have had. I stopped by here by myself maybe around 6pm on a Monday and was seated at a table because the bar was full, but told I only had an hour since they were full for reservations. That was totally fine and knew I wouldn't be more than that. If you are coming here with other people, you definitely need to make a reservation. The servers are dressed in traditional German clothes which is a very cool touch. Everyone I spoke to also spoke English. I ordered the schnitzel and whichever beer they recommended with it. I am typically NOT a beer person, but of course I had to try one and whatever this was, was very good. The schnitzel was so crispy and also very delicious. Highly recommend this place!!

We got reservations for this place because it's good. It's a very nice clean place. The wait staff…read moreis very friendly and helpful. They speak good English. We were there at 6:00 and he recommended the beer that was just opened from the barrel. There beer in a cold mug I'd delicious. My wife got the spicy sausage with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Amazing with the brown gravy. Not real spicy. I got the fried pike fish with a potato crust, potatoes and sauerkraut with bacon. Best meal in Munich so far. They have an area with deer antlers all around. Spiral stone staircase to the water closet .

My girlfriend and I decided to check this place out on our first night in Munich. We sat ourselves…read moreand waited for a waiter to bring us a menu. Our waiter was an older gentlemen who spoke very little English and made zero effort to help us with the menu. The menu was entirely in German and we had no service to translate anything so I just picked the Wienerschnitzel and my girlfriend ordered a vegetarian ravioli. Both dishes came out relatively fast and looked great. My schnitzel was very tasty and fresh while my girlfriends ravioli was extremely flavorful. We ordered the Oktoberfest beer since we couldn't really read or tell what the other beers were. The Oktoberfest beer was very light, almost like a coors light lol the weissbier is where it's at. Highly recommend getting the weissbier at any and all restaurants as it is the stronger and more flavorful selection. Later in the evening a younger girl asked us if we needed anything and spoke English, she also helped us with ordering other drinks and even called us a cab since we had no service to use Uber. I wish she was our original server and was a little annoyed he did not even ask her to help us in the first place. He also did not give me my change trying to take advantage of the fact that Americans tip, and in Germany the tip is included. I didn't want to make a big deal over 5 more euros but pretty rude. This would be the main reason for only 3 stars. Other than that it was a cool experience and beautiful beer garden for outside seating.

A really nice bar, beer garden and restaurant. The schnitzel at Franzz is amongst the best I've had.read more
