Our driver was so awesome, funny, kind, and got us to Bangor safely. It took HOURS but I'll never forget how great he was. I wish we had more options - I travel from Lincoln, Maine to Portland, Maine frequently. I try to use public transportation as much as possible to save the environment and save my car. Perhaps the limited options are Covid related. It was hard getting up at 4:30 this morning to get on the 7 am bus to Portland. I was determined to support our business and also help save the environment. I have been vaccinated against Covid, that has helped me make this decision, as well. They have plastic guards on all the seat backs. They have seats blocked off. The staff are awesome, as always! I love how I can sit back, read, listen to music, or watch a movie. You do have to bring your own headphones now and they do not serve water and snacks. That is fine - I'm grateful they are still in service.

The issues: at $280 a night we felt the room was very dated (last updated about 20 years ago). The room smelled like bleach or really like how a senior living or care center smells which we spoke to the management about. The physical parts of the building, being quite old, showed various states of care/repair/disrepair/wear. Overall I dont see this at $280 but it was an ok stop. Management did acknowledge the issues and said the rooms not yet updated were to be done soon. Perhaps verify if your room choice has been done if reserving. I give it a 2 star towards 3 but price keeps it at 2 in its current condition.

Perfect lake cottages. Clean, comfortable, pet friendly.... You will be back year after year!…read more Angell Cove Cottages has been my "Go To" vacation spot for several years. The location is ideal if you want a relaxing, quiet, beautiful, pristine, and tranquil setting for your Maine trip. Its location is ideal for day trips for shopping in Freeport, sightseeing, and trips to the coast. You can go boating, fishing, and swimming right from your front door. The cottages are clean, well stocked, safe, and beautifully decorated. Each cottage has a grill, well stocked kitchen with utensils and pots and pans ready for every need from burgers to lobsters! They also provide recreational equipment for fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and just chilling out on the lawn, in the houseboat, on the dock, or in a hammock under the trees. Don't be surprised if you see the same vacationers each year.... it is "How Life Should Be" in Maine.

More time for relaxing in a hammock! We hiked around the grounds, found the well-stocked self-service game shed, horseshoes, badminton nets. Also self-service canoe/kayaks/lifejackets. Plenty of chairs by the shore for looking at the view. We took a canoe over to one of the bigger islands for a picnic lunch. The next day we kayaked over to another island where an eagle nest had been reported. We enjoyed swimming at the beach. Be sure to bring water shoes as there are some freshwater clams living here. I truly felt like I was finally on vacation when we were all sitting by the shore of the lake at sunset, listening to the loons sing, with fellow campers playing guitar. Kids were playing by the swings waiting for the campfire to be ready for marshmallows. I wish I could have stayed longer. This place is well taken care of, very friendly hosts. They allow well-behaved pets too, which was nice for our new pup.

All I can say is, we will be coming back regularly. The Cub Carpet was a perfect starting point for all ages. (I was worried about a 4 year old kicking my ass) After an hour we ventured out to Squirrel Run. It took me three tries with a little bit of reluctance and tears, by the fourth and fifth time down I was feeling more confident. They have perfect starter slopes and plenty of room for black diamond goers! We were able to have a nice midday snack and relax before getting back out there. The cafe had plenty of options that weren't as outrageously* priced as most ski lodges. (Still pretty high but you know what to expect when you go skiing). We ended our fun day with a nice craft beer at their new bar. That was a perfect ending point to a great day. Good beer, good people, good laughs. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We didn't encounter one staff member that wasn't smiling and professional. The owners are great people, who love what they're doing and you can't ask for more than that. The owner, Scott, was a pleasure to meet and chat with. Next year we are planning on getting season passes! Highly recommended. 9/10 (women's bathroom was pretty rough, but that's the clientele and not the business. This family camp is a true gem - the best kind of all-inclusive vacation for families. My family of…read morefive loves it. The kids spend time by themselves, my husband and I have time alone and together, and we have time with the kids to enjoy each other as a family. The camp is large enough for the kids to exercise their independence --heading to the barn for activities or kayaking in the cove by themselves without me worrying about them. When we go, I don't cook, clean or plan anything - which as a busy mom, is the best kind of vacation. The camp is rustic and simple but very clean with beautifully manicured grounds - a space just perfect for appreciating nature. The food is delicious (I probably gained 5 lbs last week) and easily catered to special diets. I enjoyed a nice mix of structured activities (fishing, sailing, art, archery, land sports, barn dance, bingo, etc) and down time (time at the lake or for a nature walk or just to relax around the fire). I also appreciated the sense of community that camp strives to create each week among the family members. At about 10-12 families per week, it is just the right size. Can't recommend this special place highly enough and I can't wait to go back.

We were told that our site was on the water and filled out all our information. I was very pleased that they were able to accommodate our stay on such short notice, but when we went to check in on the day of our stay, they told us the site we had rented was already rented and put us in another site about a quarter-mile from the water, and didn't give us any discount or even apologize about this. We then looked at the information sheet we had filled out and they had deliberately written over our reservation and switched it. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this campground to anyone after this terrible experience, especially knowing there are much nicer facilities nearby.
