My Name is Christie Bussey and my family and I were some of Dr. Makerson's first customers when she opened her practice. The kids were still in elementary and kindergarten at the time. So I said all of this to say She had been our family dentist until I relocated to Atlanta, GA in 1996 and even after that because I was still going back and forth visiting remaining family for about two years after that. But her "motto - gentle dentistry" is indicative of the type of service provided at her practice and nothing short in any sense of the word. Just to show you how loyal I am to her practice as well as the treatment I appreciate receiving; even though she is now out of network for me, I just went back this Summer to have her perform a Root Canal w/crown as well as cleaning. I love her very professional staff and the individual respect & patience rewarded whenever I visit and her work is indeed impeccable, it rises shoulder to shoulder with anyone else out there whom you deem impeccable. As I sit here, anxiously waiting for my procedure, I have to overhear the sarcastic responses to what I assume was the person on the phone questioning insurance copayments. "Insurance is only for the sickest incidents" is rude and pathetic. No one needs to hear about your insurance prowess, no one needs to hear about your opinions on student loan forgiveness or what you think of the current generation that was not as fortunate as you to put your two kids through school. These statements make people not want to patronize your establishment. When I returned to my surgeons office I voiced my concerns only to told that they have heard these complaints before. Once you cross into the pre-procedure area, the nursing, anesthesia and surgeons are so wonderful and deserve 5 stars.

It's the WORST experience my mom and I EVER received from a medical office. All we were attempting to do was be established as a new patient. We were spoke to in a condescending disrespectful manner and refused service. We were told that their office policy doesn't allow them to see new patients over 80 years old. I said my mother was actually referred to their office. After 12 minutes of getting the runaround, we were told this would be referred to the office manager and it'll be 2 weeks after she comes back to work on 05-26-2026 before we get a return call. I asked who is the office manager that would be calling us and she said she's not giving us that information and hung up on us. I was told by two office employees that they are losing dental professionals because corporate wants them to cut corners and keep prices high. My concerns were treated as if they were unimportant. I have been there before and I should have known not to go back but I really needed to be seen quickly. The last time I went there I had a tumor growing on my eyelid and they messed around with me and wasted precious time! This time I saw Dr. Wells and she was more interested in telling me about her upcoming trip to D.C. than she was in listening to my health concerns. She told me that I would need to wait until she returned before she could do a biopsy to find out if I have psoriasis or not or that she would be able to go ahead and give me a prescription of shampoo to try until I came back in a month later. She said that if I started with the shampoo, then I would need to stop before the biopsy because it would have an effect on the biopsy results. I took the prescription but did not get it filled because she scared me away from starting any medication. After talking this over and doing my own research, I decided to get a 2nd opinion and luckily found another dermatologist who was willing to schedule me the next week. This dermatologist said that I didn't need a biopsy and that I clearly had psoriasis. She started me on an oral medication and provided me several prescriptions for itching in my ears, the shampoo, and the medication that you leave on your scalp. The dermatologist that I got the 2nd opinion from was very caring and I will be leaving a 5 star review for her after I finish writing this. Please don't go to this office if you are expecting someone who cares because you won't get it. Go to another office! Needless to say, even though this office is very convenient to my location, I called them back to say I would not be returning.
