Dilation waiting area was in the center but was told to go to main waiting which was a slight workflow deficiency, I will not deduct stars for workflow deficiency. Points will be deducted Appearance 90 (some corners of exam chairs have peeled paint and could use a repaint and refresh. The leather as well has cracked on some seats making a reupholstery job a favorable management decision in addition to light repainting and updating the overall offices decor. It feels like it's stuck in 2004) Staff 100 (absolute gems of staff here. Very caring and patient even with rather sketchy eye control in cerebral palsy exam. A CP exam can take up to 70% more time than a standard exam. Here a CP exam takes averaged across five exams approximately 20% longer than a standard persons exam which is impressive efficiency with high complexity care.) Equipment 100 (while cosmetic issues exist such as peeling paint actual equipment is kept in pristine condition and works as expected. In fact the auto diagnostic machine was so clean I plopped my head down and they said "hang on hang on I haven't even wiped it yet!" Your fault for it looking perfectly ready!) Workflow 85 (this one was the hardest to deduct for. They had a central interior waiting room with no windows for dilating patients. Instead they had everyone waiting in main today. Not sure if this was due to the water issue in the building or if this was a workflow defect. Will follow up next exam and remind them of proper use of the dilation room to avoid over irritation of patient eyes during the wait and to improve COVID-19 distancing for patients by keeping dilating patients away from the main waiting to protect them while eyes are in a more vulnerable state.) The polite staff was able to quickly get my daughter in for an eye appointment; it had been over two years since her last exam. Dr. McHugh was thorough and patient as I asked questions. Once my daughter picked out her frame we thought we were ready to go-smooth sailing but the Wauconda location did not have anyone in their lab this particular day. The optician reassured me and quickly made a call to their Round Lake location. The lab had the frame but not the lenses and since it was the day before the holidays the lab personnel wanted to cut out early. By now we had left the store and the optician said she would try to do what she could but we were probably looking at 3-4 days before we would have the glasses. Sometime had passed when my phone rang. The Wauconda optician said that if we wanted to come pick up the frame and lenses, the Round Lake lab personnel would wait for me. Wow! I know he wanted to leave, it had been slow for the lab at that location and it was becoming late afternoon the day before the holiday. Who wouldn't want to cut their day short? We dashed up there where the gentleman from the lab was awaiting our arrival. He said it would take about an hour. An hour! He had waited for us about an hour already. So, two hours he stayed and waited and worked with us so that my daughter could have glasses over the long (2 weeks) holiday weekend! I would highly recommend Accuvision in Wauconda and Round Lake. My experience with the doctor and all of the staff was above and beyond quality service! We have been customers for many years now and have always been treated exceptionally! Please keep up the superb customer service. It will always win over the customers! Thank you Wauconda Accuvision for your fine service and prompt attention to help us out. I do appreciate what you all did. I want to put a P.S. here. Even though we had an appointment, we still waited 30 minutes plus to see the doctor-I don't understand that. I guess you don't REALLY know how long each individual appointment will take.

Let me start by saying I read my insurance policy on my insurance website and then booked the appointment through my insurance provider saying this location was covered in my insurance network. I knew before arriving my insurance plan covered contacts and glasses. When I asked the front desk staff she looked at me and said "most people only get glasses or contacts so just pick out glasses as the best bang for your buck." Cool, so I pick out my glasses. As I'm doing so she pulls up my plan and tells me I have coverage for neither contacts or glasses. I try to explain to her that I work for a multi billion dollar pharmaceutical company and I'm definitely covered. I proceed to take out my company phone and look up my coverage again; where it tells me I'm covered. I look at my paycheck where I've been paying for eye insurance all year. I'm throughly confused. The two other front desk staff proceed to sing and mess around while I try to talk to the other women that thinks I came here with no insurance. The receptionist is the only person helping by calling my insurance company. After getting everything cleared up and experiencing what was the most unprofessional experience in a doctors office. I get my bill. Guess what I was covered for glasses and contact. Next time don't walk up to the customer and tell them that they are not covered until after you've called their insurance agency. Thanks.

When I pressed him further, he said that there are other good doctors for the task, but Dr. Wolin has the uncanny ability to get the lens prescription right the first time. That sealed the deal for me, Dr. Wolin it would be. I had my surgery on February 4th, 2013. My vision in my left eye was perfect the day after the surgery, and has remained so ever since. I may not think about it every day, but there is not a week that goes by when I don't think of, and silently thank, Dr. Wolin for giving me the gift of nearly perfect 20/20 far vision in my left eye. He is the BEST at what he does, in my experience. And I echo the experience of one of the other review posters - there was absolutely NO pain associated with this procedure! My wife and I took a limousine from Dr. Wolin's office to the operating suite, and then back again. This was a very calming and classy way to travel back and forth to the procedure, and I would recommend it if at all possible for you. Now on to the office...his partner, Dr. Dominguez, is who I saw mostly for my follow-up. He is thoroughly knowledgeable and professional, and also VERY easy and pleasant to talk with. And as for the nurses and technicians and administrative members of the team, I always found them very professional, friendly, and helpful. As far as the wait is concerned, I never found it unduly taxing, and it is the price one pays when one has as one's physician one of the very best at what he does! Seeing a waiting room filled with patients is the first clue you get, that you are in the right place. So Dr. Wolin, thank you again for the amazing impact you have had on such an important aspect of my life - Gray Smith

For example, 8 months ago I went in for an eye exam and purchased a new pair of designer glasses from him. I don't have any type of vision insurance anymore because my employer discontinued that from our health plan, so it's all out of pocket. When it was all said and done, he charged me less than 1/2 of what I paid at LensCafters the last time I purchased glasses, when I DID have vision care on my insurance! Then 8 months goes by and my dog chewed up my glasses. I went in to order a new pair (expecting to pay full price) and he set me up with a new pair of glasses and gave them to me at HIS cost! He's been at this a long time and I can tell you that he is a really nice person and will go out of his way to ensure that you are a satisfied customer. I'd absolutely recommend him.
