Although the hearing devices are helpful and useful, I was so mislead and scammed into believing my insurance would cover the cost of the "Cadillac" model as indicated by Ms. Victoria Burner. I questioned that statement on several occasions and was assured by Ms. Burner that I was extremely fortunate to have this insurance as she had worked with them before and they would cover the cost 100%. That was the only reason I agreed to purchase this model as well as a device for my right ear as she spoke with such enthusiasm for my outstanding health insurance and what it would cover. Upon returning my test model and receiving my new set, she again assured me the cost was covered. I returned for a 3 month recheck service for the hearing devices and I asked what fee I owed, again she stated it was covered. Not 2 days after my 90 day return policy expired, I received an invoice for nearly $2,000.00 for my share of the hearing devices. Obviously this caught me off guard and I immediately placed a phone call to the main office in Harrisonburg. They informed me that insurance rarely pays everything and that my 90 day return had expired. I spoke so highly of your business for 3 months until that invoice arrived. I am angry and devastated that I am now expected to expend $2K out of pocket towards this scamming and ill informed employee and BR business practices. I must admit I wonder if they committed this act simply to increase their commission off this sale. How convenient! Also, I called my insurance company and they paid their share of the total due 30 days after the purchase, so Blue Ridge had ample time to notify me that there would be a balance due, not 2 days after the 90 day return policy expired. Feeling extremely taken advantage of as a senior citizen with private insurance. Additionally, Evolution offers daily walk in services after 12 which is highly convenient if there is a short notice problem to work on. The audiologists were recently able to remove a rubber gasket from my canal that had gotten stuck - doing this at a clinic would have taken much longer at much higher cost. Tootie Rinker has been my audiologist and has shown skill, professionalism and kindness. She helped me with my first pair - hand me downs from a deceased relative - which she reprogrammed for me. She then helped me with a second pair - used ones which were better than the relative's and which she also reprogrammed, but which finally broke. And now, I have my first new ones which she helped me line up. They are the best! So clear! I can even hear my phone/podcasts/stored music through them and they have a setting to compensate for my tinnitus. Best I've had! Tootie treated me the same each time - regardless of whether she was getting a sale. A great person to trust. Great office personnel, too, with Martha and Colleen.

I know, doesn't sound hard, but you have to know her to understand. Her lack of hearing adversely affected our family in so many ways. You couldn't even carry on a conversation with her. Her response would always be "Huh?" or "Yea", because she never heard what you said. Of course, I wanted to help her get hearing aids, but I didn't know who to TRUST. I wanted someone to show some genuine care for her, as well as someone with the expertise to provide her what she needed in a hearing aide. When I met Dr. Cooper, I really felt like I could TRUST her. She's caring, and easy to like. She is so personable, and she honestly understands the impact of being partially deaf.
