I am extremely disappointed in my recent purchase of hearing aids from Blue Ridge Hearing…read moreCenter-Woodstock. Although the hearing devices are helpful and useful, I was so mislead and scammed into believing my insurance would cover the cost of the "Cadillac" model as indicated by Ms. Victoria Burner. I questioned that statement on several occasions and was assured by Ms. Burner that I was extremely fortunate to have this insurance as she had worked with them before and they would cover the cost 100%. That was the only reason I agreed to purchase this model as well as a device for my right ear as she spoke with such enthusiasm for my outstanding health insurance and what it would cover. Upon returning my test model and receiving my new set, she again assured me the cost was covered. I returned for a 3 month recheck service for the hearing devices and I asked what fee I owed, again she stated it was covered. Not 2 days after my 90 day return policy expired, I received an invoice for nearly $2,000.00 for my share of the hearing devices. Obviously this caught me off guard and I immediately placed a phone call to the main office in Harrisonburg. They informed me that insurance rarely pays everything and that my 90 day return had expired. I spoke so highly of your business for 3 months until that invoice arrived. I am angry and devastated that I am now expected to expend $2K out of pocket towards this scamming and ill informed employee and BR business practices. I must admit I wonder if they committed this act simply to increase their commission off this sale. How convenient! Also, I called my insurance company and they paid their share of the total due 30 days after the purchase, so Blue Ridge had ample time to notify me that there would be a balance due, not 2 days after the 90 day return policy expired. Feeling extremely taken advantage of as a senior citizen with private insurance. I will never recommend this company to anyone and use my voice against Ms. Burner and Blue Ridge in person and on social media from this day forward. Steve Sherman/Strasburg VA.

I have seen this ENT (Dr. Neal) twice, once for sleep apnea and once for dizziness. For sleep…read moreapnea, he was jovial and dismissive, telling me I didn't look like someone who has it (I do have it). He mostly went on rants about treatment methods he didn't like and did not satisfactorily answer my questions. For the dizziness, he ignored some of the crucial information I shared (that it subsides with steroid use), declared me "a mystery" and ordered a battery of testing. He also refused to issue me a few days more steroids to get me through the wait time between the initial visit and the testing, saying, "It doesn't make sense that they're helping you so I won't give you any more." He then shamed me by standing very close to me, towering over me, and threatening that if I keep taking steroids (I had only been on them for 4 days) I would "need joint replacements by the time I was 46." There was no compassion for the fact that the steroids are the only thing keeping me standing at the moment. I arrived for the test after three days of careful waiting where I was not allowed to use any anti-dizziness medication. I signed in but the receptionist didn't notice, so they didn't call me back for 20 minutes. When they finally called my name they told me the computer needed for the testing had broken that morning and they didn't know when it would be fixed. They did not call me to tell me not to come in, even though they had called me about something else that morning. To top it all off, I was not allowed to drive myself to this test, so I was stranded at the practice before I could be picked up. If you can avoid Harrisonburg ENT, avoid it.
