I head straight to Best Buy in Irvine evrery time, going on 23 years now. So what makes me sit down to write a review today? Greg Bernal. He's the Verizon specialist. This guy is impressively well versed on the best & worst phones & cell service. He's helped us negotiate the phone & cell service quagmire a few times over the years. He's also a computer expert as well, and has helped us there too. What i appreciated about this visit was, thanks to Greg's advice, i did NOT have to buy a new phone yet. He told me what to do & say to Verizon, which worked beautifully and Verizon lowered my bill and fixed the problem over the phone. But a new phone is on the horizon for us, and i can assure you, I'll be right back to Best Buy in Irvine, MY STORE, to buy the next one! Last comment: About the manager of this store, Ricky. Dont know him. I dont know where he gets these exceptional employees, or what he does for them, but our personal experience of every sales team rep or Geek Squad member is its always memorable and leaves us very happy with the experience. We have found them to be knowledgeable, and generous with helping us find what WE need or want, not a store's sales agenda. Never transactional. Thats exceptional. This must be a loyal & trusted manager, because his people seem the same and genuinely happy to be there. They stay, for years. Greg Bernal is certainly representative of all that. Rock star. Best Buy, keep doing what you're doing --- we appreciate it.

It was around 7:45pm on Saturday, May 2, 2026 when I (Asian customer) stopped in to purchase a WiFi…read moremodem. It was not busy and there were about 3-4 younger guys (different races) standing around talking. It was about 3-4 minutes until a taller man (Caucasian) who greeted me and asked if I had some questions about a WiFi modem. I told him I did and (on his headset) asked if someone could help me out (since he was in the middle of helping a customer). No one came and the 3-4 younger guys were still gathered around talking. When I was within 6 feet of them, they all saw me, but instead of asking me if I needed any help, they asked the Caucasian customer who was leaving if he needed any help. I had the intention of buying a WiFi modem, but they refused service to me and I felt so belittled that I was about to leave. Luckily, the taller man - who just got done assisting a customer - came back and approached me and answered all of my questions. Because of his help, I ended up purchasing the WiFi modem. BTW, there was another Asian customer who did not receive any help, but luckily the taller man acknowledged the customer and helped him outs. Unfortunately I did not catch the taller man's name. I had to write this review because I believe this was a case of blatant discrimination based on my race and the way I looked, especially when they clearly saw me (because I made eye contact with them) and they refused to help me, but acknowledged the Caucasian customer who was leaving. I should have asked for the taller man's name because he was so helpful (5 stars for him) but because the blatant discrimination, I'm giving 1 star.

Things to consider: 1. While locally convenient, it took 4…read moremonths to fix my tape deck. Unfortunately had to return it 3 days after I got it. 2. Had to wait another 2 months for the 'Warranty' repair to be completed. After 3 months, I had to call several times for a status/update, always with the same response: 'Waiting on the part'. Within 2 weeks after the 3 months, finally got a call it was ready. 3. Went to pick it up, and was told I owed $30.00, for parts. Asked why since it was returned within the warranty period, now get this, "it was out of Warranty"...ya see how this works now! 4. Sooo...after taking my tape deck home, after the 'Warranty' repair, discovered the tape deck was severely scratched across the surface face. 5. Finally. After 2 days of playing tapes, tape deck didn't work, again, severely dragging. I reported the issue and asked for them to fix, guess what, it was "Out of Warranty". Stated if I wanted it fixed, they will charge me again! In conclusion, you might be better off going to a more reliable & responsible vintage stereo service.

Very Disappointed!!:( I called numerous times for an update…read moreand kept getting told he would have it next week. After several months, I just gave up and went to pick up my reel to reel. He gave it back with one of the reels missing. When I pointed out the missing piece, he got very defensive and aggressive but never owned up to losing or breaking it. Regardless, I still lost, having paid for him (cash only...hmmm) to look at and not getting it repaired and getting my item back with a missing piece. I seriously question his integrity and would NOT recommend doing business with him.
