Mark is the best! I have some vinyl records that are not available in any other form. I just got back my first record along with the CD that he created. I am in awe of the care that he took to create such a perfect finished project. Most important: The transfer sounds flawless. Not a pop or scratch. Just pure, beautiful music as if it were remastered. He carefully separated out each song on its own track. As a bonus, he carefully labelled each track so that when I ripped it to MP3 files they are all correctly named and organized into a labeled album. Excellent. My iMac couldn't recognize a video or the DVD was damaged, don't know cause Apple can't do the magic it once did. I sent Mark three cassette tapes with poor sound quality to transfer to flash drive and he did a terrific job of making them sound string and pristine. His prices are a bargain and he also gives you a great deal on copies, which I also got. My late grandmother wrote music and recorded it on 2 vinyl albums. Since none of my sisters or cousins had a way to play LPs, I asked the owner of Audio-Restorations, Mark, to transfer the music onto CDs and flash drives -- whichever format each person wanted. The entire process was seamless. Mark's website gave detailed instructions on how to ship the albums to him. He got the copies back to me sooner than I expected. Horrible business. Sent some beloved videos of my deceased father in to be transferred. I left several messages that were never returned. It took them 9 months to contact me, then they charged me and sent me back the same exact videos that were not transferred. They also sent me other people home videos. I contacted them to try to resolve this issue and they were very combative and refused to refund me. So if anyone has used this service and are missing their videos chances are I have them. A repair attempt on a broken cassette tape failed in and it went tangled. It was untangled, which took about 11 months to do, by then some of it was U shaped because of the mistreatment, some of it was almost flat and looked almost playable. In the beginning of november 2018 I sent images of it to some several recovery businesses. One of the contacts was A-R, since they had a "You tried to repair it yourself" category with a twisted tape advertised. Most responses were negative, A-R on the other hand responded they had done worse, but also gave warnings that it may be hard to fix. After a short discussion they said they would give it a go. I took the chance and sent it from SE to US in the end of november 2018. In the beginning of january 2019 I had not heard anything from A-R and asked for status update. Got an answer that the tape had arrived and a notice had been sent out in the middle of december but it could have ended up in the spam filter. Which I was not so sure about, since I checked the spam folder daily, knowing the risk. I got a new arrival letter the same day, telling me the turnaround time was 2-4 weeks unless things slowed down. Knowing the tape had arrived I waited patiently. In the beginning of march 2019 (8 weeks later) I got a mail from A-R, telling me the tape was too damaged to repair and I should tell them what to with it. This was a big disappointment, no repair after about twice the specified time. I responded the same day, wanting it returned, but needed a very low or no value on the letter because of the completely outrageous postal system in SE, charging +25% VAT + 75 SEK (8 USD) for anything coming from the US. Actually, no value should be needed at all since the contents was to be a broken outdated tape - zero resell value). In the beginning of april 2019 I still had no tape returned and asked if it was sent. No response. In the middle of june 2019 I asked again. Then I got a response that they still had it and would mail it the same day. Today, close to the end of june 2019 I got a notice from the SE postal service, charging me 12 + 75 SEK = 87 SEK (9,39 USD) for the broken tape in import taxes, because the letter had a value set to 5 USD on it. Maybe I should be satisfied anyway, because I was not charged any processing cost nor return shipping from A-R. So, to summarize my experience with A-R, I was happy that they accepted the challenge, but unhappy with the long processing time without any status updates and very unhappy that they could not repair the tape. The communication could have been overall better. I was glad that no costs were charged for the failed attempt but not glad that they put such a high value on the return letter. Maybe I would consult them again if it was less damaged media, but I doubt it with the current SE import charges. read more

I would rate this business ZERO stars if I was able. I sent him a 40-year-old mint condition LP (still in original shrink wrap) to transfer to CD, requesting three duplicate copies. First-of-all, upon receiving my LP, he sent me a confirmation that he received it in perfect condition. And he also noted that the current turnaround time was running 2-4 weeks. But rush orders will be processed in 48 hours for an additional fee of $49 Dollars, of course. So I thought it was strange when my order arrived back to me in less than a week. But as I soon found out, he sent it priority mail even though I requested media mail on the order form, and billed my debit card the extra shipping charge without my approval. When I opened the box, I immediately noticed that my mint condition LP was heavily damaged, having a large fold/crease in the album cover, and when I pulled the record from the sleeve, it was absolutely filthy! And, no, it wasn't damaged during shipping as the box was still like new, same as what I shipped it to him in. So how else could this have possibly happened? His website clearly states that the customers LPs are very, very, very safe with him, and that they will be returned even cleaner than he received it. At this point, I'm already furious, but it only gets worse! Upon opening the cheaply made CD cases, I found that the CDs had become dislodged from the tray holders during shipment and had numerous abrasions. And the CD artwork wasn't even properly seated, instead bent and hanging outside the cases. I immediately listened to the entire CD and found several major defects. The middle of one of the nine songs is mysteriously missing 6 seconds. Another song has the start of the next at the end. Obviously because he split the tracks incorrectly. And other songs had a terrible hissing/pops between tracks, even though when specifically asked, he guaranteed that I would only hear silence between each song track. Being that I ordered three copies, all three CDs have the very same defects. I sent him an e-mail the very next day explaining the problems, but he never replied back. Nor, two months later, has he replied my following two e-mails. I also called him, but in the middle of explaining my problems, he abruptly ended the call, only saying "there's nothing I can do for you!" Apparently, guilt has no answers! I ended up filing a claim with my bank in an effort to get my money refunded. But they informed me it was declined by Visa based on his statement that "I never contacted him about any problems, so he's unable to address it". But it only proves that he's a liar! After filing another claim for the misuse of my debit account, I have since at least been refunded the shipping costs. Don't be fooled as I was by his fancy website and promises. If you really want a professionally done transfer, look elsewhere. His primary concern is making a fast buck not customer satisfaction. read more

Mark was able to repair and transfer a DAT that had been damaged by a different tape transfer service on the east coast. He did an great job for a fair price with a quick turn around time. I found a really cool old cassette tape of family members made with a portable recorder back when they were kids in 1974. It made a constant clickety clack noise when played, and I only got through one side before the tape broke. Mark reattached the leader and replaced the reel hubs. The tape works perfectly now. He also did a digital transfer of it which is absolutely magnificent. I'm in awe he was able to achieve such a high level of audio quality from such a poor source.
