CRAZY FINDINGS FROM THIS PLACE! Had two subs/amp installed (Kenwood) about 6 months ago. Had a professional look at the work recently and I gotta say I felt like a sucker coming to audio express. 1.) There were an extra THREE UNNECESSARY fuses put in! 2.) They just SCRATCHED the paint to make a good ground 3.) The way they positioned thing was just plain sloppy! 4.) Wires held together with duct tape! 5.) Wires exposed to set my subs up to blow/short out! If you ever go to this place I cannot stress enough to just buy the equipment you need then get it installed by a professional. These guys work there system good for you to fail. Straight up con-artists! Cannot trust them. Just get a little educated before coming here, and SCAN THE RECEIPT CAREFULLY. read more

After my OEM head unit died, I came to this Audio Express to go ahead and buy an after-market unit, and decided to just buy the works. I ended up purchasing (something I had wanted to do for a while) a new head unit, completely new set of Kicker speakers, Amp, and two JL Audio 10" sub-woofers. The guys helped me get the best system within my budget, and then went to work installing it for me. It took a while, as expected, but bring a bowling ball, because their are lanes next door. After a while, they were all done and walked me through the setup, calibrated everything, and sat with me and jammed to some Twenty-One Pilots. Afterward, asked if I was happy with everything, and I was very happy with the equipment and their work/friendliness. After a couple weeks, I did have an issue with one of the subs, and called to bring it in to have them take a look. It was a minor detail and Audio Express fixed it on the spot. These guys are professional, friendly, helpful, extremely veteran-friendly, and really down to Earth folks. I couldn't give them a higher recommendation. They stand by their work, and they will do anything to make sure that you are happy with your experience and with the products they sell; and they sell very quality products. 10/10 Thanks! read more

In the three times that I have been to this store, not once have I never received anything other than excellent advice and service. My first trip was to put an audio system in my previous vehicle. The second visit was to transplant components from my previous vehicle to my current vehicle. And the last trip was to upgrade certain components in my existing system. One word to describe my experience . . . OUTSTANDING !!! Got a Kenwood DNX9990HD bases on the manager's recommendation. I was kinda hesitated since I have read some unfavorable reviews on the unit. But John assured me that those reviews it's just that, someone's opinion which everyone is entitle to their own. Anyway, I drop a bundle $$$ and had the unit and all the other toys that are available installed in my son's new 2012 F-150 "redneck mobile". Conclusion: the unit looks great and work great. Manny was really helpful when I came in for a remote start for my car. He was professional and friendly, and he had me leaving with a smile on my face. The remote start seems to work well. I wish they paired up the aux function on the remote to my trunk, or at least offered. I also was told it would take 4-6 hours to install, and it took 8 hours from my 9am appointment time. read more

These jerks wasted my time and my money: made an appointment a week in advance for the installation of a security system in our 35' RV. When I made the appointment the guy asked me if I wanted to stop by so that they could take a look at it. I told him that I didn't want to drive around with a 16,000 lbs vehicle and that I wanted to get it done right away. So I showed up in time, they spent 45 minutes entering my personal information into their system, looking at the vehicle and writing a work order. After I signed the work order, the guy (who was extremely unfriendly) asked me "so you are dropping it off ??" I told him that I made an appointment and that I wanted to wait. "You might have to wait between 6 and 8 hours, when we make an appointment, it doesn't mean that we start right away. (I had a security system installed previously and I know that it takes about an hour to install it). The question wether I was planning to drop it off and take a cab back home should have been asked when I made the appointment, not after signing the work order. I wasted my time and a lot of gas, driving 40 miles for nothing. These guys absolutely don't care about customers, I would not recommend Audio Express to anybody. read more

These guys are great. I worked with Andrew today. Very polite professional and honest. I did my research before coming to see them and I was very surprised at how wonderful I was treated and how everything was in line with what I understood. Andrew didn't try to upsell me.He listened carefully and then presented what he felt with meeting my needs and still be modular and expandable. The employees were really nice and knowledgeable on their products. I went in to get a siriusXM satellite radio vehicle tuner (adapter more or less). They wouldn't price match the product with Best Buy so I ended up paying $30 over price. But that's not why I'm giving 1 Star. I'm giving a 1 Star because they made a very big mistake. When they installed the adapter they unplugged my subwoofer and messed up all of my cabling. So basically I had to take my whole dash apart to fix something that shouldn't of even been touched. read more

Came in to upgrade my old deck and door speakers. I was upgraded because the one I wanted was a floor model so that was cool. The install did take awhile, I ended up having to go back because of the install, but they totally took care of me. Hands down the best experience I've had dealing with a retail store. Went in at 3:30 and picked out some speakers for a Christmas gift. It was easy and not a bother at all for Mark to help us out. He was very knowledgeable. By the time it was all picked out and said and done, we were ready for them to install them. Mark wasn't sure if they were going to be able to do it today but he asked Eric... Next thing we know Eric says not a problem and by 7 we had our speakers installed they sound awesome.. great guys.. great place... great service!! we can't say enough good things about this experience. read more

Update: Ian the store manager called me. Apologize for the mixup on the equipment I received and took care of the problem. Audio express definitely stand behind their product they sell. I would recommend stopping at this audio express as the new manager is definitely trying to make things better here at the store. Very unsatisfied with the product received from audio express I bought a JL audio 1000 monobloc amp and two Alpine 10 in a box for my truck. When purchasing this the guys in the store told me this is an awesome set up you're going to be so happy with it it's going to pound so hard yada yada yada well let's just say I've already warranty one set of speakers and now the second set. I have have blown which I was being extremely careful with these to prevent them from blowing again all my radio settings are set to zero or off for any bass boost or any of that type of setting. The amp itself only turned up a quarter of the way no bass boost used on the amp. Never turned my pioneer deck above 23 max. So now one speaker the foam has came apart on the cone. And the second speaker just sends my amp into over to load protection I've spent pretty close to $1600 for these three items when I took the last speaker in my it was within the 30 day. And they warrantied it no problem but told me not to bring any more back because it's my problem now. Brandon was so patient with my husband and I when we went in for a new stereo and drop down tv. He walked us through the benefits of what we were getting and worked us a great deal. On day of install, he called a few times to keep us in the loop and update what was going on. Afterwards, he walked me through the settings and how to get everything set up. He stayed late to answer all my questions. We will definitely be back for the back up camera and stereo in the other vehicle! read more

So I had got a new car last year & went to audio express to have them replace all the stock speakers for kenwoods & dynamat the car as well. Finally got around to coming in to get the info for putting my subs & amp in. Cody was more than happy to help the minute I got in there, he asked what I was looking to do. He checked out my setup/ tested my old rockford amp. Then explained everything very clear( even though some of the audio specifics can be confusing) I asked him to explain in normal words lmao. He told me all the possibilities and his opinions & asked if I wanted to get it done today... Got everything figured out and gave him the keys, told me they would call when it was done. Called about 4 hours later ready with my car, and when I get there Cody was busy with another customer so the other associate helped me (forgot his name)but he remembered me from early & my car.. Took me out to my car turned it on, put a song on & SLAPPED. He asked if I was happy & I'm more than happy I really can't thank you guys enough it sounds AMAZING! Overall great customer service & job. If you plan on taking your car anywhere I recommend here they have taken care of all my cars & I wouldn't trust anyone else to do it! I may have given Audio Express 4 stars if I NEVER went back for service to replace a module. If I based my experience solely on their stellar "remodeled showroom" and flashy displays........ EASY 4 stars. However, I had problems with a part which needed to be replaced. It was out of warranty. My total dissatisfaction begin when they vehemently insisted that they never installed my unit to begin with (based upon the looks of their wiring connections inside of my door). Although...... they have sales records that I bought two alarm systems prior to this, for the same vehicle......... Not a great experience. It was not worth arguing the point with this company. The Audio Express sales people graciously offered to sell a NEW system replacement which would exceed $700. They touted that the "new one" would actually "function at a mile distance". Hummm that's the sole reason I bought the previous system that I have now. NOT GREAT. I have lost trust in their process. I chose not to buy the $150 part, plus an hours worth of labor for installation. I had vastly different experience, with my same exact problem, experiencing a tremendously different outcome both financially and in time. I found a hole in the wall stereo shop with deck/owner also happens to be an electrical engineer. This technician pulled the part out of the door, opened it up and discovered bad solder connection on the circuit board and repaired it!!!!!! I was out the door for a grand total of $45. WOW he actually diagnosed the problem and fixed the part! NO ONE ELSE COULD DO THIS. FYI That shop also quoted me in the mid $400.00 for the SAME EXACT NEW AND IMPROVED VIPER system, installed. There is a reason that Audio Express is not a BBB registered company. There is a reason that Audio Express is not the name of the main company. There is a reason that I cannot contact the President: Mr. Edward Santacruz, or the Customer Contact: Mr. John Link, Vice President of Sales. Freight Sales, Inc. is the name of the parent company, and surprisingly it is very difficult to find this information out. There is no place to register a complaint with either company. So I'm warning as many people as I can here is my story. On June 8th 2008 I went shopping around for a new alarm system for my vehicle I checked out a few stores and ended up at Audio Express 1235 S. Gilbert Road Mesa AZ 85204. After talking with the General Manager Kurt Joiner, he tells me how he has worked hard to put together his crew and that they do excellent work. I end up deciding to have more than just the alarm installed I was going to finally have the stereo of my dreams installed. "Dale" is the master technician to do my work. I should have been immediately been worried that a person that is working on my car has not cared enough about himself to manage to hold on to his top front two teeth. I love my 1986 Chevy Blazer it is the first car that I ever purchased and as time has gone on I have restored the truck and dedicated it to the friend I purchased it from who passed away a few years ago. After paying over $3500 for equipment and labor costs I pick up my vehicle on June 21st. I took my truck home proud to have the piece of the puzzle complete. The next day I started to clean out the interior of my car and I found 14 issues wrong with the install! So on June 23rd I returned my vehicle to Audio Express with a document with pictures pointing out the various issues. I was told they would correct the problems and after a week they call me again to tell me that my truck is ready for pick up. I go to the shop to find out the list of issues had not been resolved. I returned the following day with a copy of the letter that I brought to them to find out that half of the issues have not been resolved. I explained to the personnel at the store what is wrong and they inform me that the Manager Kurt is on vacation and they will update him on his return the following Tuesday. Fast forward to today, August 2nd I have not heard back from them in two weeks at this point and I call to find out after all this time that they do not intend to repair damage they did to my vehicle and that it has been sitting at the shop for two weeks with nothing done from when I reviewed my issues with the employees during the managers vacation. Had I know that they would damage a vehicle and not fess up to it after clearly showing incompetence in other areas I would have never let them touch my truck. read more

Went in last week to get a simple DVD player installed (to replace a broken one) before a long car trip. The employee (can't remember his name) said to buy one online then come back and they could easily install it for $40 and would only take about 30 min. He was very nice and helpful. My husband came in to get the DVD player installed today. He talked to R and was told he didn't have time to install it anytime soon (even though no one was there). R also told him it would be $80. R acted like he didn't even want to try to help my husband schedule an appointment. My husband called the scottsdale location and they told him they could get him right in and install. Great service every time I visit here. Ive been coming here for car audio for over 10 years. The quality of work, customer service, honesty and pricing is top quality. Went in today cuz my deck stopped working. Instead of selling me a new one, they tested it on the work bench and found the deck to be fine. Brought my crown vic in for some nice security, they did a wonderful job installing the security system. but they neglected to ask me for permission to run a new wire a bit more hidden by un-screwing my visor, and my custom light i had attached to the visor, and putting the visor light back in a different position.(It took me 3 hours to get this light in that position before they changed it, and 2 more to try and get it as close as i could to how i had it. really upset they didn't tell me. also they did not screw the visor in properly, 2 of the 3 screws were hanging. read more

Terrible! My husband had a sound system and remote starter installed. They installed the remote starter wrong leaving my husbands truck stranded and not abke to drive because it was pulling all of the power from his truck. Burnt something up inside his transmission as well. Our machanic couldn't believe how terrible and careless they were. Over 500 bucks spent for the remote starter just to be torn out and thrown away plus all the money spent fixing his truck. I work with a very large population of people and warn everyone against using these guys. read more

**If I could give 10 stars I would*** My husband took my car in as a surprise Christmas gift, to replace my stock stereo and give me the bluetooth mic so I don't have to use my actual phone while driving. He chose a relatively lower end stereo unit (around $199) and then of course the bluetooth mic. During the install, a plastic piece around the unit on my dash was broken and they ordered it to replace immediatley. The unit was pretty, had lots of colors and great EQ options but was not at all user friendly for me and there were multiple steps needed to simply change the stations past the first 6 stations. I tried reading the manual and it was still unclear. He also hadn't paid the extra money to link the stereo controls back in to my steering wheel and I found the whole thing to be a big distraction while driving. *I will also admit that I am tech challenged in some ways too so that doesn't help* I brought it in for the plastic piece to be replaced and was going to just pay the money to link it to my steering wheel and the store manager Manny Velducea offered to come out, sit in my car and show me how it all worked so I would be happy w the unit. I had lots of questions (prob too many) and still had hard time following all the steps needed to access the extra stations and other functions and he was SUPER patient. He was SUPER AWESOME. Seeing that I still wasn't terribly happy or confident w the unit he offered to change it out, not charge me for the removal of it.. give me credit for the cost of the unit and help get me in to a better, touchscreen unit. This unit would again be linked to my steering wheel controls like I had been used to and would link to my phone and would be way more user friendly to a tech challenged person like myself haha. I was hesitant bc it was going to cost me another $389 BUT I use my car A LOT and continuing w the other unit would have been an ongoing annoyance. They installed the other stereo and when done, again... he patiently sat in my car and showed me the "most used" functions and patiently answered questions. I was embarrassed bc I kinda felt dumb not knowing how this stuff works and he was professional, kind and just really cool about it. I didn't have a charging cable w me and he said if I stopped by later he could show me that too. When I came back to drop off the original stereo box for the one he had removed, he quickly showed me the features w the cable connecting my phone the unit too. Overall the whole experience was above and beyond what I would have expected. The knowledge and patience and professionalism is not some thing I feel we come across often anymore. It almost rare! All too often, employees don't go the extra mile and he easily could have done the bare minimum, fixing the plastic piece and connecting to my steering wheel, and I would have not known any thing different. I would still be driving around w a unit I didn't like. He said he wanted to be sure I was happy and somehow despite spending another $390 dollars I hadn't planned on.... I couldn't be happier. Hello, I have a 2017 Fiat 500 X and I took it to Audio Express to have a BOSS Audio BV9382NV Double Din, Touchscreen, Bluetooth, Navigation/GPS, DVD/CD/MP3/USB/SD AM/FM Car Stereo, put into it. They did a great job, they had to "hard wire" the deck since my car is too new for there to be a wiring harness for it, the stereo works great and the sound is fantastic even on the factory speakers. They even called me the next day to make sure that there wasn't anything wrong, I plan to go back and have them do the back up camera as well. read more

went to store to have two speakes replaced in wifes car. All I wanted was a small tweeter in the drivers side and the center speaker on my dash. The manager quoted me $900.00 i about died I told him I did not need a whole system just 2 speakers cheapest he would quote he would give me is $500.00. About a month ago I came to audio express to get a sound system for my 2007 Dodge Charger. It was good for the first week and the problems came on. First, the install was terrible. They charged me for wires that were "longer and better" but they came unplugged because of how short they were. Then now my car is having electrical issues because of how they installed the amp to the battery. I have heard other people I know that have used other audio stores and had better experience. This is just another retail audio express that lacks quality with installs. I would not recommend this place to anybody. read more
