I brought in 6 seat cushions from my dinette chairs that were sorely in need of an upgrade... 'way too many butts had sat in those chairs! Audie did a superb job guiding me to the right grade of materials, explaining the underneath cushion work to be done, gave me an estimated date of completion and the cushions were completed as described and EARLY! I realize this is probably a simpler job than most upholstery work but to be treated well, respectfully and on time, how can I not give Audie's Quality Upholstery anything BUT FIVE STARS??? I'm attaching before and after... read more

Audie did a horrible job on the seats for my 58 Karmann Ghia. I told him I wanted the original seat covers duplicated and I pointed out details I wanted to retain, like the thin piping and not using any hog rings. Audie assured me he could make them exactly as original and he would make the piping from scratch, so it would match the original covers and he would hand sew all the side corners and bottom of the backs. I made an appointment with him and dropped off the restored seat frames and left him with the original seat covers to copy and sent him a few photos of the seats before the covers were removed so he could copy the hand stitched sections. I also provided him with special order vinyl from SMS farbics in Oregon to match the original vinyl. Audie said it would cost about $2k, so I dropped the seats off on October 6th and he told me they would be done by the end of the month. I called back in November and he said he was almost ready to work on them. I called back in early December and he told me he would get started on them. A week later he told me they were done. It looked like he had slapped them together in a week. He used fat off the roll piping and didn't make it from scratch. He used hog rings to hold the seat back on. He put a seam in the middle of the front panel and on the top of the back, these seams were not on the original covers. There was a lump around the top of the seat bottoms and wrinkles around the base of the seats. I don't think he looked too closely at the original covers. After all this he wanted to charge me $3,800! I showed him all my issues and he told me he would redo them. I called SMS and ordered more vinyl which cost $1k to replace and the dye lot was slightly different and I already had door panels made using the original vinly. At this point I couldn't trust that he would do the job right and I couldn't loose another $1k in vinyl. I told him I wanted my $2k back that I had already paid him and I would eat the cost of the vinyl. He told me if I removed the covers and brought them back he would refund me. I removed the covers and brought them back and he told me he didn't have the money, but would in two weeks. I went back to his shop every two weeks for three months and he never had the money and wouldn't refund my money. I told him he could even pay me back in installments. Nothing. Now I'm out $3k and still need to get the seats covered. You might say that the seats looks ok, but they are not what I asked for. I was completely up front with what I wanted and I provided original seat covers to duplicate and he promised that he could do the job right. In the end all he did was a quick slap it together job to get it done and wanted to charge me double for poor work. read more

These people are deceitful. Took my car in for a new convertible top to be installed. He was doing me a favor by getting it in on short notice as I was moving out of Reno. For that I was grateful. I had to call several times to follow up. No voicemail. I finally got through and was given a date to pick up, but after he quoted me a price for the install, he jacked up the price several hundred dollars. My husband and I went to pick it up and he told us NOT to open up the top, that it needed to stretch. Sounds reasonable, I guess. I'm so mad that I didn't force the issue, especially since we were literally driving out of State in the next couple of days. We left it unopened until the following Spring, only to find it was a challenge to get it to stay in place once opened. The frame on the drivers side is bent and will not lock in place. We spent a few thousand for amateur work. I didn't reach out, as I felt they would not take responsibility based on the lack of customer service I received. And the time that past. Don't trust anything of value to them. My car is a 2005 Toyota Spyder, a collector's item from what I hear. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I called the owner and discuss about putting a headliner in and he called me a price of $1200 and I thought well he must be on crack, cocaine or just simply doing injections of heroin. I price it out and several other areas and I'm getting prices anywhere from three $345-$400 for the same amount of work. Just wanna let y'all know do not do business with this Flamer because he's out to scalp you and steal your pocketbook and not only that I also was told that his work is really are the quality of his work is terrible read more

I went to audies for a n upholstery of a Ford lariat seat recovery job. Took over a month between ordering material and an appointment to complete job. Upon me removing seat an taking seat to reno return in 5 days to pick up seat they had done work with the wrong color leather trying to blame me for picking wrong color I'm an equiptment operator they are the upholstery experts. I am a happily returned customer. Good, professional people with a fair price, good product business practice. Need I say more?!

I needed the foam in 2 sofa seat cushions replaced. Not only was the work top quality but Jacob kindly filled my order overnight. He even insisted that I sit on the cushions before leaving the shop. I offer Jacob and Audie's my highest recommendation. read more

I've known Audie and Cheri through a local golf league for a few years. They are fun and kind people who donate gifts to the league raffle each week. Of course when I had a small upholstery job to do, I took it down to Audie and the guys. They had me in and out the door in 10 minutes. These folks are great. Support local business. read more

Audie forgot my order after meeting with me, going over my vehicle, and shaking hands. Lost the foam and fabric I handed over and said he discovered it under a pile of other supplies. Said he would get it done last minute but didn't get it done until hours after the time I told him I have to leave town. Turned over shoddy work done at the last minute (seams/zipper were in the wrong place) and charged me full price. Not a stand up business owner. I'm not even going waste my time going back to get this fixed. There is clearly a lack of competition in Reno. If you need solid work for a vehicle you care about, look elsewhere. read more

Just want to give a shout out to Audie for not backing up his work! I'm a native Nevadan and love bringing business to locals! Long story short I paid 300$ two years ago now to have Heavy duty zippers put on my side by side doors. First time I brought them home zipper broke right away! Took them back and waited forever to get them back. Finally I had to call him about them and he didn't even know where they where. Nor did his employees!! He finally calls me and tells me there's nothing he can do. I guess that's what happens when your ready to retire. Whoever takes over I hope you back your work Like Audie use to. Thank you Audie next rounds on me at the lake bar and grill! read more

As much as I want to put a good review from my experience it wasn't good at all. So I came in looking for someone to replace my seat cover for my jet ski. I had all the materials and just needed it put on. I came to Audies since no one in Reno does jet ski seats and from a referral from another company to find an installer. Came in quoted me $100 just to put it on should have taken a hint as what was to come. Told me he would have it tomorrow and it was a quick turn around. Came in paid for it. But when I first saw it I saw that it's not put on properly. Audie said to "just leave it in the sun and it should flatten out." But when I got home to check out the staples they had done. It was the wrong gauge looked like they use normal staples not stainless steel coated. Also it looks like they used a household stapler gun when they should be using a pneumatic staple gun. The staples couldn't even pierce the plastic on the seat, so it looks like they tried to hammer it as seen in the photos. Should be called Audie's POOR QUALITY read more

I took the cushions from our 1996 camper to Audie's hoping I could get them back before our trip in May. Audie had me go to the Mill End Store which is next door to his shop to pick out and buy the fabric I wanted. Took the fabric, new foam back over to Audie. He had all 7 cushions made and ready for pick up the very NEXT day!!! I was ecstatic to say the least. The new cushions are a perfect fit which can be off sometimes. Audie and his crew were so nice, professional and are extremely talented upholsterers. Also, reasonably priced and affordable! The new cushions have updated the camper considerably. read more

Brought my boat here for carpet. I saw other boats they did and they looked great. I got mine back and there is glue all over the bow and my consoles. Then looked further and they didn't even tuck the carpet under the trim like it should have been. Just cut the carpet right at the trim and not very straight you can see the deck in some places. And they didn't even put my compartment door back together correctly so while I was at a bass tournament I was having to fix what they did.Right now I hope this will last a few years but I'm doubt full. Really disappointed in this job and it was not cheap. read more

I've got to go with 1 star, but it's not for the quality of work. I drove in from Truckee to show Audie the seat of a car I was getting ready to sell. The upholstery was torn, and I wanted to get it fixed. He gave me a quote and said that he'd have to look into getting the right material. He had me give him a headrest for reference, even though the headrest did not contain the exact material he needed to match. I offered to give him one of my removable back seats, which did have the right material, but he declined b/c he didn't have room for it. He said he'd remember the color and try to get as close as possible. He said he'd call me back in the next couple days. I waited for a call, and got none. About 5 days later, I called and left a message. Still nothing. Over a week later, I came in spotted my headrest in the office and grabbed it. In all, a complete waste of my time. I found the gentleman at KAR Quality (https://www.yelp.com/biz/kar-quality-upholstery-sparks) to be much more responsive and helpful. I will say, however, that Audie seems to have a lot of interesting, high quality work going on at his shop. Maybe if you spark his interest w/ a nice hot rod, he'll be more attentive. read more

Their team did a small upholstery repair on my driver seat and went above and beyond. Pricing wasn't cheap, but more than reasonable when you consider quality work. The short review is...This place is AWFUL. Don't go there. Here is the long review. I brought 6 boat seat cushions and the engine cover from my '92 Malibu to them on a referral from a good friend who had some insurance work done there. My quote was $1,900 which was more than I planned on but because these guys were recommended to me by a trusted source , I went with them without squabbling on the price. Big Mistake. The job they did was mediocre at best and when I asked them to re-do one of the 6 cushions because it looked like crap the manager/sales guy and the owner were all excuses and complained about having to re-do 1 bad cushion. The other issue was this: My cushions were factory made with plastic wrapped around the foam to prevent them from absorbing water that inevitably gets behind the vinyl through the seams. These guys threw the old plastic wrapping away and didn't replace it despite telling me that they would "Put all the cushions back together exactly the way they took them apart". After they finished and I discovered that they didn't replace the plastic wrapping inside I called them on it. The manager's excuse was "We don't use plastic on any of our boat cushions". Two minutes later in a separate conversation The owner told me "We usually put plastic on all of our boat cushions". Ultimately, the only one that they put the plastic back in was the one that I made them re-do because it looked like crap on the outside too. So now I have 5 other cushions that will likely become water logged within 5 years. Avoid these guys! read more
