Update on my Audi of Lynbrook experience with warranty. The issue was forwarded to Corporate Audi for review. Their response was that the car should be driven 10,000 miles a year. My wife put 2200 miles on it in 9 months. That was the reason from Audi for denying the warranty . As requested by Jason Chance, I am providing an honest review of my car buying experience at Audi Lynbrook. I initially purchased my Audi vehicle from an out-of-state dealership due to past less-than-ideal car-buying experiences in New York. However, after my most recent service appointment at Audi Lynbrook, I was contacted by Jason Chance regarding the possibility of upgrading my current vehicle. I made it clear to Jason that I was only "looking" for a larger vehicle as I am expecting my third child, and he acknowledged my intentions. On Saturday, February 8, I met with Jason to discuss a 2022 Audi Q5 with 31,519 miles, priced at $33,337.31. I informed Jason that I had already been preapproved for $50,000 by my bank, my current lien holder. Jason offered a test drive, and I was impressed with the vehicle and his thorough knowledge of it. Although I was interested in the vehicle, I made it clear that I was not willing to pay anything beyond the value of my current vehicle, minus my remaining loan balance. After appraising my vehicle, I was offered a 72-month financing option with a monthly payment of $783.13, accepting a $1,500 trade-in equity. This option was acceptable to me, as I understood my financial commitment. However, I wanted to reduce the monthly payment significantly, but there was limited flexibility as I was not willing to make a down payment, which Jason understood. Despite his efforts to encourage a down payment of $1,000-$3,000 or to consider another vehicle, I stood firm in my decision. Ultimately, we agreed on a monthly payment of at least $770, and I was satisfied with this arrangement. We shook hands, and Jason asked me to post a Google review of my positive car-buying experience. He also requested my insurance policy number and a copy of my registration, assuring me that the car would be ready by midweek. On February 11, 2025, I received a call from Jason stating that they were encountering difficulties with financing, as the banks they contacted were not providing the expected terms. I inquired as to why they had approached other banks, given my preapproval with my current lien holder. Jason stated they would look into the situation and call me back. In the meantime, I contacted my bank and discovered that no documentation had been submitted regarding the vehicle purchase. I attempted to reach Jason multiple times, leaving voicemails, and eventually sent a text message. He returned my call and informed me that my bank had only approved me for $30,000, and I would need to provide a $10,000 down payment or consider another vehicle. At this point, something felt off. I expressed that I was no longer interested in pursuing another vehicle and requested the return of my deposit. Further discussions with my bank revealed that no down payment had ever been mentioned beyond the $770 agreed upon on February 8. Audi Lynbrook had submitted a financing request for $37,163.90, which my bank countered with $30,121, the appraised value of the 2022 Q5. This is not the first time there's been damage upon pick up. The passenger side front airbag had to be replaced about a year ago and the carbon fiber trim panel was cracked in the process. I brought this issue up to the service advisor at the time and she denied any damage. The OEM part is over $400. I brought my car in for service of abother recall and few issues beyond my knowledge less than a month ago. While I was checking in, the valet stalled my car. I informed the service advisor of the issues I was bringing the car in for. Upon picking up the car, I inspected the exterior of the car; the service advisor drove it around for me for fear of it being stalled again. There was significant scratches to the rear trunk where the license plate bracket was replaced. S.A. asked if I wanted him to drive it back to the shop and ask the tech about it. I declined because of course he's going to deny it- the tech should be brought to me- however I wish I would have inspected the interior before the S.A. left. I get in the car and the check engine light was on the dash as well as a light bulb out. As informative as the S.A. was during the process of diagnostics, he should have notified me that while my car was in their possession, the check engine light came on and a bulb blew and ask me if I'd like to have the repairs done since I told him that these repairs were needed to be done for its inspection, which is now overdue, while I get the monitors ready to be inspected. read more

I was impressed by how much she knew about the specific vehicle that I was interested in without having to look at notes. I decided to make the purchase and she was helpful throughout it all. I now had to drop off same Q5 for AC service yet again, apparently having for nearly two months they did nothing but charge the AC and now I am being told it may need new condenser. I paid their service dept. $217 to incorrectly diagnose instrument panel outage to my 2014 Audi Q5. It likely took them all of 10 minutes to do their work - plug their diagnostic tool into the onboard computer to read the error messages. And then tell me that I needed to spend an additional $2200 to replace the whole instrument panel. No further diagnosis or explanation of the issue. The service rep did not know what an instrument panel was. Terrible experience with their service department. They are crooks and incompetent. And just don't care. Most dealerships would work with you and offer to deduct the diagnosis charge if you do the work with them. Especially in this case where it likely took them all of 10 minutes. But, not these rip off artists. It just did not trust them, paid the $217 for their false diagnosis and brought the vehicle to a local repair shop. Sure enough, the local shop found that I had a corroded wire that caused the outage to my instrument panel and did the repair for $100. Thank god I did not have this vehicle follow through with their proposed $2200 repair. Again, they just don't care about their customers. If they did care, faced with a huge repair bill, why would they not have taken another look or done further investigation? Because they are either incompetent or crooks or maybe both. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL PARTS BEFORE LEAVING THE LOT (WHEEL LOCK ETC.) My husband and I leased a brand new 2022 vehicle from them and they gave it to us without the wheel lock. Upon having a flat tire this then resulted in us not being able to put on the spare and having to have our car TOWED. Upon this disaster we noticed that other parts were missing as well. I recently had the displeasure of visiting Audi Lynbrook in search of a new vehicle. From the moment I stepped onto the showroom, Jason Chance, seemed very pleasant and eager to help me. Initially, I appreciated his enthusiasm and willingness to assist. But my experience shifted from good to bad as Jason's demeanor changed during the negotiation stage. During our negotiation chat, we explored various purchasing options. While I initially found his assistance to be helpful and informative, I was taken aback as I proposed my final offer and was met with a request for my credit card to show his manager "my form of good faith". At this point, I found it highly unusual that Jason needed to "show" his boss my credit card before a deal had been finalized. After I left the dealership, it became apparent why my credit card was requested at that point in time. Five minutes after leaving the dealership, I received a call from Used Car Director, Michael Molite. He inquired why I had left the dealership and I explained that I did not see a reason why I was required to present a physical credit card in order to get a manager's approval in my final offer. Michael went on to explain that this is standard operating practice at car dealerships. I informed him that I have never been asked to present a form of payment prior to finalizing an agreement at a car dealership. I found it unnerving that I needed present my physical credit card in order to show in good faith that I was serious about the deal. In actuality the purpose of handing over my credit card was so that if Michael had in fact agreed to my proposal then I would have been charged right there on the spot a $1000 deposit. The reason this practice is done, as explained to me by Michael, was because most people upon reaching an approved final deal will still back out. As I recall, a consumer has every right even if a final deal is reached, to back out of any deal for any reason unless a contract has been signed. This is a cheap and unprofessional tactic used to try and keep you locked into a deal that you may be hesitant about proceeding with. I told Michael when I make an offer I commit to that offer. His response was "well then you're one percent of car buyers that come into the dealership". So be aware when you show up at this dealership that you will categorized as a prospective buyer that has little to no integrity as to the value of your word. I'm well aware a car dealership is hardly the environment where one expects straight forward and honest tactics but when being touted that the level of interaction is at an elevated level at "Audi" then I should, as the consumer, be seen as a more elite consumer who doesn't need to be exposed to shady tactics. Horrible experience 3 times in a row! Sales and Service department! Last year I had an electronic issue with my current car which is an RS model. I leased this vehicle from this dealership in 2019 (Under old management) . This was the 3rd Audi I had obtained at Audi Lynbrook; again under former management. Under the latest management, I was told i could not be given a loaner for 45 days (The problem i was having was an emergency and it specifically says on my contract that a loaner is always provided for repair work) I was offered a valet ride back to my residence until I was told my residence was too far for a valet to drive (I'm 25 miles away) I was told that I could be dropped of at a train station. Needless to say i got Corporate involved, took the car to another dealership (Smithtown) and the problem was solved after a few weeks with immediate access to a loaner. Incident 2 and 3. After waiting a year (coming to the end of my current lease) I decided to give the sales department a chance to rectify what the service department did the year before. In March of 22 i visited only to have my worst expectations met. The salesman i dealt with was arrogant and obnoxious spewing pricing inflated by the so called "covid market adjustment". The inventory was beyond pale, the cars I was being quoted on were either used or base level S models with lease numbers reaching far into the RS range and sticker prices were gouged 10-15k over MSRP. I inquired about ordering an RS7 (which according to Audi corporation would be the best option to avoid dealer gouging) and was told that wasn't an option as no allocations were available. I asked why they had TWO 2022 RS7s (Yes, thats right folks, TWO 22' RS7s) parked outside the dealership and was told they both belonged to employees, the salesman I dealt with and another gentleman working there. I ask this question; How is it that two, I say that again... not 1 but TWO of the the more rare Audi RS models were not available to a customer with 20 years of Audi ownership (8 different Audis) but instead in possession of two Audi Lynbrook employees. August 2022 - With one month to go on my lease, I decided it may be best to extend it. I received a phone call yesterday from Audi Lynbrook Customer Retention and was asked what could be done to get me into another Audi and get back my current RS model. I told the gentlemen straight out. Get me an RS model at MSRP and I'll be down tomorrow. (Asking for MSRP is no gift to the customer btw, a dealer makes thousands over their Invoice price at msrp, especially on vehicles in luxury or performance classes) The excuses began to rain down. We're not in an MSRP market i was told. Ok, then i said, I'll order the car. I was again told no, that ordering was not an option. I stated that according to Audi corporation I could order the car at MSRP and wait for delivery. At that point the story changed to "yes you can, if you go to Ohio" I'm not done. I decided to call Audi financial and extend my current lease after that call. I explained my frustration and was told 2 very interesting things. 1st, Audi corporation does not want the dealers charging over MSRP. The dealers don't have to do that and they are warned not to do that. If they receive too many customer complaints about price gouging through corporate, they can be severely penalized. 2. ordering any Audi, RS model or not - is always an available option and should never be done at a price over MSRP. You may have to call a few dealerships to get it done but they are obliged to sell the manufactures automobiles at manufacturer suggested pricing, not play with allocations hoping to cash in on the highest bidder. Any dealership telling you otherwise is not being truthful or not willing to help you unless they are ripping you off blind. I will never buy or lease from Audi lynbrook again. I have extended my lease until i can visit another Tristate dealership and order another car at a fair price. Ill start by calling Audi corporation to report this latest incidents in detail. Was treated poorly upon negotiating a new Q5 lease after leasing with them three years ago. After showing them my calculations for a new lease which I researched online how to do - they quickly dismissed me. I asked them how they came up with their high numbers where I found the lease should be significantly less and they wouldn't tell me. why is zero stars not available? the service dept is downright incompetent. i decided to give them another shot. why? who knows? i took my car in for 9am service and decided to leave it for drop off. was driven home by "shuttle" (dealership uber). they did not take the car in for diagnostic till 4pm by popping my hood and showing leaking coolant. they wanted 3k for a thermostat housing that should be covered under extended warranty. service manager of 2 weeks, says he could probably "work something out" if i left the car for a few days. I'm a nurse, i need to travel to save lives daily. i need my car! Service dept is a scam! nuff said. read more
