After about three hours, he eventually arrived. He was really sweet, compassionate and kind, and he tested my battery, startup time, and alternator. He showed me very clearly that it was the alternator and recommended that I go to AutoZone to get a new one. He explained that they sold parts, but I would have to find a mechanic to put the alternator in as they didn't provide these services. The "AAA guy" jump started my car but strongly advised that I should go immediately to AutoZone to get my car repaired. Off I went and what happened next can only be described as one of the most extraordinary experiences I've ever had. I arrived at AutoZone, on Guide Meridian in Bellingham, WA. It is a beautiful store, spacious, spotlessly clean and every spare part, mechanical and non-mechanical parts attractively displayed. What stands out even more than the lovely showroom, are the staff. I was warmly welcomed, and it was already almost 6.00 pm on a Saturday evening. I couldn't believe how kind, caring and genuinely helpful they all were when it was almost time to close the store. I would subsequently find out that their hours are long. AutoZone is open Monday to Saturday from 7.30 am until 9.00 pm each night and on Sunday from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. I walked straight up to a lady, who looked as if she was in charge. She was. Her name is April, remember that - you're going to need to know her name. This is the best Auto Parts store I've ever been to. I explained my dilemma to April, she listed and I told her that the "AAA guy" had told me that I'd only be able to buy the alternator at their store, BUT would then need a mechanic to take my old alternator out and put the new one in. She nodded her head and concurred that they only sell parts. I confessed to April that I was broke and only had enough money for the alternator. She told me that she had an idea and it would take a few minutes to call a friend of hers, to see if he had any ideas. I gave her some space and privacy to make that call. She came back smiling and said kindly; "I have some good news for you. My friend, Kyle is coming from Burlington (that's quite a drive!) to Bellingham, in about an hour's time, and he'd like to look at your car and see if he can help you". I was in total disbelief; I'd never come across such incredible Customer Service like this before. Kyle did arrive shortly, and he and April together worked on my car, until it was fixed. They also didn't have the exact alternator as I had originally bought my car in Canada. So, April called O' Reilley Auto Parts and fortunately they had the exact part that was needed. No problem for April, she drove me up to O' Reilley's store and I paid them for the alternator. If you're still reading this review, you have to agree with me, this is truly going above and beyond any Customer Service that you've ever heard of, and for me personally, an incredibly high bar in comparison to what I was used to from other service providers. BUT April and Kyle were still not finished with my car and the two of them worked diligently for at least two more hours, until the car ran perfectly and they felt I was safe to drive home. I wish I could give these two wonderful people 10 stars instead of 5. They both gave unstintingly from their hearts, not because they had to, but because they wanted to, AND for that, I'll be forever grateful. In addition, I also saw how well their staff in the store were trained. Nathalie and Juan looked out for the other Customers while April and Kyle were taking care of me. Juan is April's second in command, while Nathalie made sure that every person who came in with a dog, was sure that that dog got a special treat. They truly are like a family. BUT mostly what I experienced that night was what the Gold Standard for Customer Service really looks and feels like. I'm not going anywhere else from now on for any auto parts. I've told my family and friends and now I'm happy to tell strangers. If you ever need Auto Parts go to AutoZone on Meridian in Bellingham, WA. You won't regret it!

With lots of used cars, dealers add mandatory fees like Lojack or paint finishes or whatever to get you to pay more. The advertised price is just a lure to get you in the door. My experience with Honda of Bellingham is that what you see is what you get, there were no random extra charges, no sneaky fees, no unnecessary hidden options. It was so refreshing and easy... I was told quite definitely that the reason was that the grill had to come off, and that accounted for the cost of labor. I didn't feel good about that and mentioned it to a friend who does a little car maintenance for himself and he offered to take a look, We went to O'Reilly's for a replacement bulb and the woman behind the counter actually offered to have a look herself. I popped the hood, and my friend felt around an said, "I can feel the bulb." The woman suggested he remove the battery for more room to work and the task was completed in about fifteen minutes. Two questions occur to me: 1) Was Honda aware that such a quick and easy fix was available and simply attempting to take advantage of my ignorance? I hope not. 2) If not, why did these certified professionals not know such a quick fix was available, if my amateur friend went right to the root of the solution? I went in to discuss this, and received a polite hearing. To be fair, the service manager called me soon after and explained that they did not often work on Acuras and that by golly once they realized they they had such a quick and easy fix they would have done it gratis. I'm inclined to take his word for it, but am glad I did not have to.

In reality, the "winnings" were nothing more than a $25 tire repair discount. This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic designed to mislead people into visiting the dealership under false pretenses. Even if technically legal, it's deceptive, wastes people's time, and destroys trust. If this is how they treat potential customers, I'd never buy a car here. I wouldn't advise anyone to waste their time with this establishment that pretends to care about its customers.

After spending $1000 on the engine and another $1400 in labor, the engine was leaking coolant all over the floor. They would not refund my money, and blamed it on the shop I had been going to for 15 plus years. Not only do they have horrible quality control, but they do not have integrity and are not honest business people. Lastly, their staff was rude and overpriced the engine (there were competing garages selling the same engine for $600, but theirs had "lower" mileage. I check up the VIN in car fax, and the engine had 220k miles instead of the 113k they listed. AVOID GUNDIES AT ALL COST! They LIE, CHEAT, AND STEEL YOUR MONEY. THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS.

And if they don't have it, they'll order it for you. They're also honest about the scope of your job, and whether or not it's something you should be doing on your own. (Not that this has ever happened to me...!) Their hours are a bit limited, so plan accordingly. In other words, don't wait until 6pm on a Sunday to decide you need something from these guys.
