I am an investor/flipper and I use Auction.com as one of sources for properties. I also use other auction websites and sheriff sales. I mostly buy in Louisiana and Tennessee. In my opinion this website/company is not for beginners because you will have unexpected costs and issues. I find that the website is easy to navigate and filter. Please understand that a lot of what goes on with the listings is beyond Auction.com's control. The bank determines the reserve price and may pull the listing due to title issues, bankruptcies, etc. As a flipper I factor in Auction.com's fees as a cost of doing business. I will say their closing fees are excessively high (still can't figure out what an $800-$1500 escrow fee is used for). Once you get past understanding that this is a for-profit business you can account for the commission, closing cost, and whatever for the deal. Know that this is a big company that often partners with a local agent to list the online auction property. Sometimes you can get info from that agent. If it is a sale on the courthouse steps then the company is just the auctioneer. Overall as always buyer beware and use this company as a tool to invest and do your homework. read more

I have watched a couple of homes up for "auction" on Auction.com and I noticed the homes would keep having their dates changed, like a non stop auction! One home has been on their site around a year. It is true, they have the homes up for "auction" until they get the price they want. That's not how an auction works, is it?! I feel bad for the homes on this site because they sit and deteriorate in the meantime! Please, do NOT fall for Auction.com's scam. Very sad for the people and the homes. But I do wonder, is there a home auction that is legit? Shame on Auction.com. read more

BEWARE of this company. They are advertising property's that are not even in foreclosure. My wife and I just closed on a property in North Carolina and immediately after closing (and recording) this company started advertising our property on Zillow as an available property for auction. We contacted the customer service department and all they did was hang up on us. We have contacted attorneys both in NC and California (where we live) to start the process of removing this fraudulent ad. read more

I bought a property under their  wrong information posted(  No unit number for a condo, and 200 sq ft more than it is actually).  I found it out before the closing. This is another one of those online businesses that should never be allowed to exist. If you're looking for a good deal, this is DEFINITELY NOT the site to follow. It is very rare that someone gets a good deal on this site. I've tried to buy several properties from Auction.com. With each property, I was outbid by the SELLER for more than twice what the value of the property was worth. So, the seller, in essence, bid themselves out of making a sale. Craziness! If you want to sell your property for twice what it is worth, then be honest about it and start the bidding at your way-over-inflated price so that people at least don't waste their time thinking the property will sell for the market value (and then be frustrated by watching you, the seller, bid the sale up to twice the value). Question: do you want to sell the property or not? If the answer is yes, get a hold of your delusional mentality and understand that a $100k property will NOT sell for $200k, no matter how many times you relist the failed auction attempt. For would be buyers, I suggest you figure out what the maximum price would be that you feel you can pay for a property, then NEVER pay more than that on this site. If you do, you will almost certainly be overpaying. Try not to let your emotions trick you into bidding higher... which is the reason sites like this exist. Like Ebay and other auction sites, they count on you to lose your composure while bidding. Stay cool and disciplined. Don't let Auction.com "trick" you into overpaying. Just my two cents. I have bought many properties over my lifetime from all different kinds of sources (part time investor). At this point, Auction.com is a site I consider VERY low grade and only worth a minimal amount of my time. I consider Auction.com the "roadside used car dealership" (associated with crooked sales) that we all see from time to time and just KNOW it's a rip off. Be very careful. read more

I'm very disappointed with the customer service. I won the bid last Friday emailed proof of funds and requested where to send the wire for earnest money. This is the worst online property auction site. The auction properties are overpriced and often got the high bides just fall through and properties put back on the again and again. I know for a fact that Auction.com works if all goes smooth throughout the process, up to getting the property/deed in you name. However when the process goes wrong, well Auction.com abandons ship and leaves you out to defend for yourself. I say as the closing company (Ginali Associates) in which Auction.com handed me off too, had me close on a home that was no longer available. I learned this the day after my closing in which I already wired them 80K and signed off on the closing documents.. However my disappointment with the closing company is a negative review that I'll leave for them on their page. For the purpose of understanding this review, I just want to point out that Ginali eventually stopped following up with me on the status of returning my funds. Furthermore I had to contact the seller myself and work directly with them on returning my money. Overall it took 7 weeks to get my $84K (with EMD), that's after I wasted 4 of those weeks trying to work through the closing company Ginali Associates), before calling the seller directly. My issue with Auction.com is their inability to assist in the matter. I know they're going to respond to this review and say their only the facilitator. However I didn't select Ginali to act as my closing company, it was Auction.com who did. So too me Ginali is an extension of Auction.com, in which I started this process with after a winning bid and providing Auction.com with a 4K earnest money deposit. My main problem is that my closing specialist within Auction.com is Cindy Allen, which makes me wonder why have the title of "closing specialist" if Auction.com says they're not involved in closings. Anyways it's extremely difficult to get a hold of Cindy if you have questions not only about this issue, but even including leading up to the closing in which I wanted to communicate with her about status and/or questions I had. She's extremely difficult to get a hold and seems to only contact you when you haven't signed off on a doc-u-sign electronic signature document. One of those times was a phone call from Cindy after I haven't signed off on the doc-u-sign in which releases not only the 4K EMD too me but releases Auction.com from any wrong doing or further action to be taken against them. The call was taken by my wife and I over the speaker phone, the call was on a Thursday morning 2-weeks after learning of my inability to acquire the deed to the home. Cindy's inquiry was about my reasoning as to why I did not sign the doc-u-sign, in which I explained I wasn't releasing anyone from any legal action in case we have to hire a lawyer. That call ended with Cindy saying she will follow up on her end to figure when my money will be returned to me, that she will get back in touch that day or Friday. Needless to say she never did get back with me and when I emailed her in the middle of the following week, well she never responded to my email either. In that same telephone conversation I pointed out to her that some of the negative reviews I read mentioned people struggled to get their money back to them and it seemed 6weeks to 2months was the standard, and Cindy assured me it wouldn't take that long. Well guess she was wrong as it did take 7 weeks and within those 5-weeks of our phone conversation I have yet to hear from Cindy or anyone at Auction.com, even though I received the doc-u-sign reminder to sign nightly. I highly suggest to anyone considering Auction.com to purchase their home investments to do your research and read through these reviews. Prepare yourself that if things go wrong with your purchase, Auction.com is not going to assist you and more than likely you're going to end up like me making your own phone calls to the seller and/or possibly hire a lawyer like I almost did at $250 an hour. I know from Auction.com non-willingness to assist in this matter and not following up like Cindy said she would do, that I will no longer use Auction.com to purchase my homes. In addition this action was monitored by two friends who have purchased homes themselves and decided they'll no longer use Auction.com, after they reviewed my emails and listened to regular updates as to what was occurring during my situation. read more

Auction.com failed to list full information about a house, even though Auction.com was aware of the storm damage. Auction.com kept showing the PRE storm roof pictures, and ignored the pictures of the damage that I forwarded to them. While Auction.com knew of the storm damage to the roof, no repairs had been made and that rain continued to fall into the house, Auction.com added this little, incomplete, misleading statement to the Auction site: "The condition of the roof is unknown and may require repairs at the Buyers expense. WARNING My all cash, no financing, bid on a house met the reserve and I was the high bidder. Then the bum's rush began with all the high pressure on me to sign the most unreasonable purchase agreement I've ever seen. Then came the threats and abusive calls and emails from their contracts department to sign and send my money NOW! (even though their contract was incomplete and defective). The first sign of trouble is when they disqualify the broker you selected because you are related to them. Read the fine print. Read the bold big print. Read all the print because the devil is in the details. In short, it's their way or the highway. Potentially kiss your deposit good bye if you are fool enough to sign that purchase agreement. You must agree that they could come after you for the full purchase price if you don't close and if they decide they not be satisfied with keeping your down payment. What a joke. A FOOL AND HIS MONEY ARE SOON PARTED! I've been in the real estate business for 40 years. I already own many houses and even bought two of them on another auction site called Realtybid.com who was easier to deal with. BUYER BEWARE! If you like getting your credit card messed with, your earnest money put in jeopardy and your buttons pushed by overbearing people, then Auction.com is just the place for you. I offered to put the entire purchase price into escrow and do away with this obnoxious contract, but like I said, "It's their way or the highway." Auction.com IS A NIGHTMARE. I mean that literally. Thinking about what they might do to you will keep you from going to sleep at night. read more

This company is absolutely horrible and unethical. I won a house at auction, and i went to pay. They sent me over a ridiculous contract that stated, specifically, that I agreed and acknowledged that they had been given me 7 days to inspect the property, including the inside, and that I had access to the property and had completed a thorough interior and exterior inspeciton. Of course, I did NOT have access to the inside, and Auction.com refused to provide me with access! They refused to strike that part of the contract. Note this should be Auction.com but I cannot change the title of an existing listing. I have gone to their auctions many a time. I used to go often years ago when they were newer. I have now gone recently when they also do the courthouse steps auctions. The courthouse steps was always pure chaos, and now with them there its gotten more organized. Your county will have one set day a month where this is done. I live in Georgia where its always on the first TUESDAY of the month on the courthouse steps. It used to be that anyone can come up at any hour throughout much of the day with no identification and start babling with a low voice that nobody can hear and that surficed for the legal requirements of auction on the courthouse steps. Auction.com doesnt have a lock on each and every auction on that day. You will see others, but you will know their listings in advance and you can choose which to do your homework on and be ready for. Unfortunately, this type of thing is very hard to rate. SO MUCH is beyond the control of Auction.com. You can do your homework and be all ready for the desired listing of your choice, and you can see it disappear off the list at any moment right up to the seconds before it is called. This is disappointing, but its the nature of the business. Somewhere somehow, something was settled, someone discovered a certain paper or permit wasnt right, endless reasons why and you will generally never know why You also have to make sure there is nothing wrong with the property that isnt visible. Things like Federal Income Tax liens that dont go away in a sale like this. You might inherit them. You could also inherit a toxic waste dump under the property you can not see. I recommend this only for seasoned experts. When you get to the auction you present yourself and fill out a form even though you did it online that seldom means a thing. You get your numner, and you generally have to show proof of funds. Your supposed to, as these are cash only auctions so you have to have cashiers checks payable to yourself. Get them in diff amounts. Any excess is given back in closing. For the average person this might be hard to come up with. You will given a premade list of properties by number. You might find then and there your property is gone. There will be a board up in squares in the order of auction. Green is good to auction! Yellow is pending and if it doesnt turn green before they get to that number it will be passed by. My pet peeve is the language this auctioneers use. SO MANY unnecessary sounds they must be totally impressed with themselves and how annoying they can be. Its the same sounds you hear at other auctions. Mostly total useless sounds and I wish they would change that. Most people are totally confused as to who has what bid and with that obnoxious noise and hands flying all over its only the very seasoned who are there constantly who have a good idea whats going on. Stand up close and make it clear you need clear communication. You will usually get better communication when your front and center and he sees your serious. Never even raise your hand in any way, scratch an ear or touch your head or anything during an auction. It confuses everyone. So keep your hands DOWN at all times and raise it HIGH when you are bidding. Auction.com also does online auctions and auctions in auditoriums and elsewhere but those are getting fewer and far between now with the internet and them taking over many a courthouse steps. I see too many people get caught up in the excitement of all this and bid too high. DONT DO THAT. Also it never hurts to hang around as many who bid get up later and fail to have what it needs to carry though. You can leave and your desired property might come up again right after your gone. read more

I have to be honest with my review. The registration process was simple and It was very easy to bid on a property. I was the highest bidder and I won my condo way below value. After reading some reviews on yelp I thought I would never get it, but they turned out to be wrong. Customer service was perfect, a phone call away to help me answer any questions I might have. I purchased a short sale and process took 2 months, but it was way worth it. If you don't mind bidding and putting in some work to get a good deal. I highly recommend auction.com read more

This is for Auction.com. This company is very unscrupulous and anyone wanting a good deal on a house should not be tempted. Ever hear the saying "too good to be true"? Well, that's what auction.com is. The prices they show are fake you will never get a house for what they post. I bid and they had a fake computer program bid higher, not a real bidder. They are also posting listings on Zillow but if I see the listing is associated w/ auction.com I run the other way. Scam artists, 100%. If you do business w/ them you will regret it. Also, read the other reviews. The people who give the highest reviews of 3 stars even say how difficult it is, how crooked auction.com and there affiliates are like the brokers and lenders. Why anyone who is trying to get a good deal risk losing more money dealing w/ these crooks is beyond me. If you do, it's because you think you can get away w/ a cheap deal but believe me, these crooks are professional crooks and it's more likely you are gonna be the one that got worked. read more

I recently finished purchasing a home through Auction.com Beware of the condition of many of the properties. The home I obtained had repair costs that were 10x what I thought they would be even with the exaggerated figure I used. You're going to need to get a property at 60% to 70% of full market value MAX to have a chance to come out ahead or even. Beware of title issues needing resolution. Beware of spear bidders raising the bid price with no intention of purchase. Beware that after you win an Auction you may have issues with Auction.com contacts returning your phone calls or email. Especially with regards to the assigned closing agent on their side. My first two contacts were great (You're handed off to different departments as the process evolves) but I hit a brick wall once I was assigned a closing agent. Save yourself future headaches and always get title insurance. If there are title questions just run away and save yourself pain later. There are many auction companies who will guarantee a clear and clean title. This is a must. If you do plan on using Auction.com bid only on properties you can inspect, that have insurable titles and are Bank owned vacant. Do you really want to purchase a family with your house? In my opinion it should be legally required for the bank or foreclosing entity to remove people who will not vacate a property and also provide a clean title. There are some instances (military and others) where you can not actually remove residents or through other processes have it become an extended court task. Anyway - My 2 cents. read more

I purchased a property on Auction.com. Their closing costs were 8%-10% higher than they would be in a traditional transaction. They require you to pay the seller's attorney fees. The seller's attorney charged $1,500 which is two to three times higher than typical seller attorney fees. This is on top of the fees I paid for my own/buyer representation. Still not clear how an attorney can accept a fee from one party but represent the other party in the transaction. The sale came with a 5% buyer premium above the purchase price. This was disclosed but this premium is substantially higher than what a purchaser would typically pay in a real estate transaction (2.5%). Their purchase agreement did not allow contingencies or a home or property inspection. Their purchase agreement did not allow any modifications or allow the addition of language that would be typical in this state/jurisdiction. Their was no interior access to the property and the property was occupied by the owner that had been foreclosed. Their agreement prevented me from speaking with the occupants until I had closed on the property. After the closing I had to undertake an expensive and time consuming eviction. Purchasing a home from Auction.com was not a traditional purchase and came with significantly more risk and expense than a traditional purchase would have. Buyer beware. Auction.com is basically a sight that offers homes for sale on terms favorable to the seller, with no protections to the buyer, and at a transaction cost significantly higher than traditional sales. In my opinion, Auction.com is not a viable source for purchasing a property for the average consumer. read more

I used Auction.com for online bidding and in person bidding. These are things I discovered during my experience with them: - As with most REO transactions, settlement will most likely be delayed due to title issues. - The contract is VERY one sided and non negotiable with no contingencies and no exit route. - If you have an agent, he/she will not be fairly compensated. (So budget for that) - On average 1 out of 10 auction.com properties that you like will actually be sold on Auction.com. Most of the time, the reserve wont be met, and the property will be taken off the market. - Other people who bid might not be interested in buying the property. They do shill bidding to raise the price to make sure the reserve is met. - Talking about the reserve price, every auction has an undisclosed reserve price which is nowhere near the starting price. - The condition of the property is ummm let's say the bottom 5% compared to other foreclosures. The condition of the property will also change over time, meaning the from the time you win the auction until settlement, a decent fixer upper might turn into burst pipes, flooded, covered in mold. And again, you can't get out of contract, because in some part of that 100+ page contract you've been warned! - It is nearly impossible to do financing. Most properties are cash sale transaction only (typically occupied). Or even if they are not occupied and Auction.com says financing is allowed, the condition of the house is typically not considered habitable to be approved for FHA or Conventional. And the settlement timeframe typically does not give you enough time to do rehab loans like 203k or fannie homestyle. - Many properties that are listed as occupied are not really occupied. The bank assumes that they are occupied, yet the time of bidding might be several years after the last time the bank updated their record. - You can still get a really good deal, but know that an auction deal that is 30% below MLS comps might not be a really good deal... read more

356 Cypress Drive Mastic Beach, New York is currently listed on AUCTION.COM website. The home has several issues with it. You as a potential bidder needs to do your due diligence. Look at the documents that they provide. The Town of Brookhaven has 2 judgments against the owner which was never paid. There are issues that the new owner will need to deal with. Since there are several families living there it is going to cost you a bunch of money to have them move out. I can tell you now with 100% certainty that $3,000 won't cut it. They will stay until they are evicted. The case is still going on in the Suffolk County Supreme court in NY. I believe April 6th 2018 is when they return to court. SO HOW CAN YOU SELL A PROPERTY WHEN IT IS STILL IN LITIGATION??? AUCTION.COM KNOWS THIS. iF someone does purchase this home they will be in for a rude awakening. It's not fair to the prospective purchaser. It will not be possible to get a conventional mortgage. This property has been auctioned off several times but the reserve was not met. At the last auction it said under contract for about 2 weeks. Then mystically it came back and was relisted. The area- This week several cars were broken into. Drug deals are the norm. Tried to help a relative buy a foreclosed property on auction.com. Here's what we learned: 1. Bottom line: Stay away! You should feel more comfortable walking down the streets of Tehran shouting USA! USA! than bidding on this site. 2. Online bidding is a horrible experience. We had the high bid with 3 days to go, but reserve not met. Then the bid was topped by $10K, the minimum increment. Still not meeting the reserve. 3. We decided to wait till right before the auction ended to perhaps place another bid. With a couple minutes left, someone else bid higher by $10K; reserve still not met. 4. Then next bid placed $5K higher. Wait a minute! Minimum bid increment is $10K, isn't it? Oh, now site says MBI is $5K. Reserve not met. 5. Now next bid is $2.5K higher, and auction is extended for another minute! MBI again changed after the fact to $2.5K. Reserve not met. 6. Several new bids, now $1K higher (MBI adjusted after the fact), and auction extended by 1 minute several times. We're now 45 minutes after the auction was supposed to end. Something smells BAD. 7. Auction finally ends with the reserve not met. Site says property is "GONE". 8. We read the fine print to discover what others below have mentioned: Auction.com can bid on behalf of the seller, at least for reserve auctions. We are pretty sure we were the only "real" bid in the auction. 9. As pointed out, auction.com acts as a "shill" bid, and it's detestable, whether legal or not. Even worse, they get to play by different rules than the rest of us, submitting lower minimum bids and extending the auction termination at their whim. Why would anyone place trust in this process? 10. Besides future potential bidders, I hope a number of other parties read this review: a) banks with foreclosed real estate, who think they are saving time and money by using auction.com; b) regulators, who at least ought to snoop around and see if these guys are truly legit; and c) auction.com, who must notice that their head of customer service is the only one to write a positive review! I would give them negative stars if I could. Auction.com delayed the closing on the house that I won by SEVEN weeks. After patiently waiting thru the multiple delays from auction.com, my bank was ready to close. One week from closing, auction.com decided to cancel the transaction. So, after FOUR months of waiting to move my family into a new house, we were left stranded. I am now waiting for my money to be refunded, which I was told by auction.com that it will be up to six weeks. I was required to have the EMD wired to them within 24 hours. Nothing about auction.com is pleasing. They take four weeks to review the documents that they create, oh, and you have to review and return those within 24 hours as well. But they get four weeks... Their customer service is horrid at all levels of management. They are flat out rude, not only to customers, but to lenders, the realtor who "owns" the house, and the title company. Thanks to auction.com, I am currently living in a hotel with my family. Still waiting on that refund of my money........ Don't waste your time with this company. Auction.com is absolutely BOGUS!! Their site is chock full of INACCURATE INFORMATION, some of which I have proven to be completely fabricated by them. For example, I was interested in a property that Auction.com listed with an estimated opening bid amount. To verify their information, I called the trustee attorney's office who informed me that the auction had been cancelled more than two weeks earlier, and that an opening bid amount was never even established. What a fraud by Auction.com! I see no reason why anyone would use their website not only because their information is entirely unreliable, but they go even further to fabricate false and misleading information. They have completely wasted my time, after I mailed out marketing materials and visited properties that were never even up for auction. USELESS! read more

I placed a bid on a property and auction.com counter bid but its not a real counter bid. It's simply a counter bid to raise the price on the property that has an unknown reserve amount set by the seller/bank. It would save lots of time if auction.com just disclosed the reserve amount so bidders do not waste their time bidding on a property. The property I was bidding on was listed on their website but also listed as a traditional sale with Century 21 prior to the auction which I thought was unusual. read more

Run, don't walk away from Auction.com. I was the "winning bidder" on an auction and thankfully did some research before actually signing the contract and sending the earnest money. What I found scared the heck out of me. In my case the Seller of the property was NationStar. The property had been foreclosed on by B of A and B of A had sold the mortgage to NationStar but never transferred the title. The title itself was actually still in the name of the foreclosed party and B of A had never completed the title work to take possession of the property, probably because they didn't want the liability of the upkeep. After jumping through the hoops at Auction.com I was told that this often happened and that the title attorney was working on the title and it should be transferred to B of A this week. I was also told that NationStar held a power of attorney for the property. I asked for a copy of this POA and told Auction.com that I could not enter into an agreement with a seller who did not hold title to the property. Their response was that without a signed contract they would have to realist the property, and would not provide me with a copy of the POA. Their contract is completely one sided and dangerous from a buyer perspective. If you are contemplating buying a property have your attorney look at it. Once signed you have no recourse against auction.com or the seller (primarily NationStar mortgage) for performance of the contract. The contract also has other issues - You state that you have had the sufficient time to inspect the property when none is allowed. - You have had the opportunity to examine all title matters and waive any rights in this area. - The seller may be selling the property "land only". - Buyer has read, received, and approved a copy of a preliminary title report and the recorded master deed which are NOT provided when asked for. - Seller has no obligation to remove any title exception, bear any expense to convey a clear title, otherwise make the title insurable. I can go on and on about this one-sided terrible contract. I believe it is illegal to attempt to sell a property that you do not hold title to and will be checking with my local Attorney General on the subject. I have purchased literally dozens of homes at sheriff auction, from private sellers, and through other REO services and will never use Auction.com again. Buyer Beware! read more

After months of home shopping, I Recently "WON" on fixer-upper house on a beautiful lot, so I paid more than its as-is value. The Bank ACCEPTED my cash-offer a few days later. Escrow was opened , seemed all good...BUT THEN Out of the Blue they CANCELLED the contract 2 weeks before close. I later found out that a day AFTER my contract was accepted by the bank, the home was transferred to HUD as part of their inventory. Auction.com did NOTHING to explain the reason or defend me as the buyer. they simply cancelled "according to provision 12B" (Basically covering the Bank's screw-up!!) I called the bank, was told to contact Auction.com. I called Auction.com they said sorry it was cancelled "we dont have to give a reason". I called HUD, they said yes it was transferred to our inventory (a day after the accepted contract) and you can buy it through a realtor within couple months when we list it. Apparently contract law and dates on valid contracts is not something that AUCTION.COM cares about. I expect this if we were in a 3rd world counrty but to see it going on in America in 2015 is a concerning sign of the times. Either the regulators are looking the otherway or they have found the slimy little loop holes in contract law. Save yourselves alot of time, money and frustration and do business elsewhere. read more

IMHO Auction.com is a scam. I tried to bid on several properties without any success. This is not an auction because you are bidding not on property, but on chance that your offer will be submitted to the bank (seller). Everything is completely biased toward bank's interests. Auction end time means nothing - it's magically extending with bids continued. Bid increase is by preset large amount that gradually decreases, but because starting bid sometimes set very high and high initial bid requirement it makes no sense to even start bidding - combined amount is higher than market. There is always a very high Reserve Price set. So, basically this website's job is to find an inexperienced fool, rip him off, and top with high fees (for nothing). Auction.com is a greedy bank's outlet. That's it. It has nothing to do with investor or investment. The real danger for investor comes from Auction.com been chosen by several posting companies to do auctions! If you participate you are obligated to go by Auction.com rules and pay fees to them. Compare it to court-steps sale! "0" stars! read more

Up until the day of the foreclosure auction, I would have given Auction.com 4 stars. Their site seems to have lots of good information and they responded pretty quickly to any questions. I had studied and I was Ready for my first auction. The Auction.com site strongly advises bidders to arrive at the auction site one hour before the start of the auction - to complete registration. I did that. Nobody anywhere to be seen. After 15-minutes, I called the Auction.com phone and, after 3-minutes waiting while they called the auctioneer, I was told he was running late and would be there at the scheduled start time for the auction. He did show up precisely at 10am, auction start time. But he was surprised that I came early - "I never get here early." Three other bidders showed up at 10am also. AND THE MOST DISAPPOINTING - before he started the auction, auctioneer told us that there was a Low Bid (the $175,000 Minimum Bid price advertised on Auction.com) and a High Bid ($251,000 apparently submitted by the lender) and that no bids would be accepted unless they exceeded the High Bid. All of us who had come to bid on the property agreed that $251k was significantly higher than we had planned to bid. I even have a 16-page Broker's Comparative Market Analysis that places the fair value at about $220k - which all of the bidders agreed would have been a fair price. As it was, none of us bid on the property and we left unhappy with the Auction.com process. WHY did Auction.com not put the correct Minimum Bid on their site. If the lender was not going to accept anything below an inflated price, make that known - and save us the time and effort of even showing up for the auction. read more

Read all the reviews on this company. Every review I read is dead on correct. I experienced every one the the complaints. But I do have a new one. They do not hire people that has a good command of the English language. Also they do not hire people that understands real estate transactions. Or go ahead and bid then you can find out for your self. read more

Lack of realistic business hours. Start an auction on a day that their company is closed for two consecutive days leaving just 2 days to try and see the property (if at all possible) before registering to bid. No clear statement of title or deed to property in question. read more
