Really excellent Tour at one of the less touristy distilleries; very knowledgeable guide with helpful advice on what to buy.

Wonderfully knowledgeable staff, very good, mild, whisky and reasonable bottles for purchase. An easy train + taxi ride from Glasgow, too.

I love their whisky, they do some amazing top notch ones, but I love the Arran Gold more. This is many many many times more superior than baileys liqueur. Arran gold is their mighty fine whisky with honey and cream, that's it and its damn tuppy tasty :0) Nice cafe in the distillery, nice grounds and beautiful location, it is a must visit on the Island

Well done, Arran! When it comes to the cherry on top of a stellar visit to a spectacular island, a…read moredistillery tour was just the ticket for me. First of all, the location of the Isle of Arran Distillery is hard to beat, even for me as I visited on a typically chilly and overcast day in February. Nestled right in amongst scenic mountains at the edge of Lochranza, you can easily reach the distillery by bus (or by hoofing it from a lovely walk with a potential for some lazy seals nearby). As soon as I walked in the door of the place I was impressed. This is obviously a new(er) distillery, which means that it's clean and shiny like a new penny, and also features some pretty dern cool waterfallage right where the distillery tours set off. Awesome! There's also a sizeable gift shop where in the low season you can buy your tickets and do some perusing. For me, I arrived breathless having overshot my seal-watching a bit, and despite it being a few minutes past the set-off time our whisky spirit guide was happy enough to take one more. Extra points! Shortly after your initial welcome you'll be taken in to watch a video (also very techno-savvy and modern) where you can sample your first dram of the Arran 10-year-old. Naturally after this comes examing all the stills and casks while your spirit guide explains the ins and outs of the trade. I've been to at least four distillery tours now and never fail to enjoy this bit, especially with all the smells and sights. This one was no different, especially with our very well-versed (and well-accented!) guide. He was seriously the nicest chap! After the tour you leave the building to head back to a bar for the rest of the tasting, but a pause may take place to see if you can spot some of the eagles that are featured so prominently on the Arran labeling. Any place that digs their local fauna as much as the Isle of Arran distillery does gets some extra points in this one's book. Following that, you're plopped down in an very charming bar area, where either your tasting continues with more drams if you went for a more serious tasting experience, or for those on the lesser end with a wee spot of some mouth-wateringly delicious whisky liqueur. I may have savoured that one for as long as humanly possible before I had to dash out the door for my bus back to Brodick. If you're visiting the Isle of Arran and are a whisky fanatic, to my mind this distillery is a must-visit. Or even if you're visiting and -aren't- a whisky fanatic, you should go because come on, you're in Scotland so it's time to do as the Romans (er, Scots) do--and I don't think anyone could dislike that sweet sweet cream liqueur! So go forth, learn about all things whisky, and sample some delicious wares! And, if you proceed to get a wee bit too blootered then you can pop by their cafe for some grub to help sober up--either way, you're totally sorted! (Extra perk: maybe you'll even see an eagle nearby!)

We were here back in 2019 when the distillery did conduct tours pre-pandemic era. The tour was great in how they let you sample and understand their product. My favorite was their cream whiskey which I wished was sold in the US. I now have special ordered it to be shipped, so we can enjoy it from home. I do hope one day they are able to recover from whatever losses they suffered from the pandemic, so they are able to give tours again. We will continue to support by buying through the retailer online we use.

There is ample parking in a lot across the street. I highly recommend taking a tour. The tour that I took was fun and informative. Our guide, Tara, was friendly and knowledgeable of the distillery and the whisky-making processes. The grounds are beautiful! The distillery is still making whisky the old-fashioned way. They no longer malt barley here (they get it delivered from another company located near Inverness) but they do the rest right there. You won't see a lot of electronic equipment controlling the equipment but you will see a lot of valves and workers scurrying about making adjustments. To me, the tradition of whisky-making being kept alive at Edradour makes it worth visiting...and keeping a bottle or two in your bar!

The new state of the art space is absolutely enormous, very modern and sleek, multi-leveled with enormous windows to let in loads of natural light (and, artistically I imagine, to allow visuals of the city to spill into the room with you), and has a lot going on. As of writing this, you can do a: 1. Classic Tour & Tasting (75 minutes, £28 per person) 2. Gin & Chocolate Pairing (90 minutes, £35 per person) 3. Mix & Muddle Cocktail Class (120 minutes, £50 per person) 4. Gin Making Experience (3 hours, £140 per person) I can't speak to any of them at this point, but whichever you choose BOOK IN ADVANCE. You can also stop by to simply pick-up a bottle at their shop or have a drink at their bar which is open to the public (in nicer weather, enjoy their rooftop terrace). I was lucky enough to be here on their opening weekend, and was allowed a private tasting (still not entirely sure how that happened). The Rhubarb & Ginger gin is lovely and well rounded, the Orange & Basil is a little too basil forward for me, the Raspberry Gin is good but I think Stirling Distillery has them beat there, all of the liqueurs are somehow fantastic, but most importantly: if it's available, you have to get the tiramisu gin. It's one of the most unique things I've ever tasted!!! This is my favorite gin in the world; we always have a bottle of Seaside on hand! I'm excited to return with my partner and have a new tour and tasting experience different from their previous cellars vibe.
