I can't say ENOUGH about Sara. She's awesome. It is very true, she can be considered an "acquired…read moretaste" because she is loud, and can be rough with the wash, but she's also loving, kind, caring, funny, genuine, and awesome at what she does. Sara has been my stylist for over 4 years, and I used to drive from Bowie, MD to get my hair done by Sara, and now I drive from Centreville. Her prices are awesome. $35 for a wash and set, blow out optional. I have seborrheic dermatitis...when I leave her shop, because of her diligence, I have no flakes and I walk out with silky, shiny, healthy, CLEAN hair, and confidence to the sky.
To the other people saying she doesn't put protectant on the hair, all you have to do is ask. Sometimes I want it on my hair, like the last time I went, but I'm going today, and I won't ask for it. Most of the complaints I've seen, can be fixed simply with a conversation. Like I said, been a happy customer for over 4 years. I've never seen these "rude comments" and "inexperience." She's been a stylist almost as long as I've been alive...over 20 years. She's not pushy with extra services, she just tells you what she sees in your hair and offers a fix. If you say no, she won't try to convince you to get it. She'll say "okay," and move on. Too much heat? I don't sit under the dryer for an hour because I don't like that much heat on my hair, and Sara understands. Of course I keep my same place in the line, just without sitting under the dryer for the entire time, because my hair dries quickly, and I don't wanna bake it.
If you trust Sara, she won't let you down. I came back home from college with horribly short and damaged hair, due to coloring, chemicals and excessive heat. I've been going to Sara for over 4 years now, and my hair is healthy, and flowing. It has grown from shorter than a bowl cut, to well past my shoulders -- ALL BECAUSE I TRUSTED HER. I thought I knew what was best for my hair, but she knew better.
Drop by and have a conversation with her. You won't regret it.
