Foies gras for starters and a couple of delicious "fillers", that cleansed our senses, readying us between courses, were as delicate as they were unexpected. We chose wines from the high end of the price ranges - which was very close to shop prices. Either they're really good at wine shopping, foreseeing enough to buy well in advance or they just don't add a lot their price. In any case delightful to be able to taste expensive wines without bleeding - which gives them the fifth star - it's really good value for money. We sat outside and the hot summer exploded into a rain festival - which was not problem at all, as the massive umbrellas provided sufficient shelter for all of us 9 guests. The waiters managed to cover all servings of courses at the cost of soaking themselves. That's commitment. The desserts were slightly less convincing than the starter and main course - hence the introduction, almost perfect. I know it's not very French to give a tip but I was really impressed by the food, wine and they were very service minded, so I tried to convince the waitress to add 10%. She downright refused. Told me to go elsewhere with my fancy manners. With a a smile that convinced me to come back. The restaurant has an associated hotel which I will give a try the next time we're in this area. And off course we will have dinner again.

I wanted to taste authentic French Onion soup before leaving this beautiful country and we could not have selected a better place. The soup was, of course, the most delicious onion soup I have ever tasted and the duck breast and green beans which followed were equally amazing. My husband ordered the egg and duck confit appetizer which we were initially puzzled as to what to expect but it was DELISH! As was the duck Shepherd's Pie! To top off the wonderful food was the friendly, gracious service through which it was provided. These two gentleman made our final evening the best. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

These smaller bistro type eateries are the lifeblood of the local cuisine. They consistently offer reasonably priced dishes that are full of flavor and technique. The wine and drink options are well catered to the menu and they provide options for most price points. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.
