Typical ambience of a fancy French Michelin star place, but it's quite small by the way.
We went there for a Christmas dinner.
It was a ready menu set. So we could choose only our wine and drinks to accompany the food, everything else was previously decided by the Chef.
Dinner started with a small amuse bouche. Then came out a soup of Comte cheese and pumpkin.
After followed a carpaccio of scallops and oysters. It was really something, a masterpiece I liked the most, very delicious and beautifully decorated like a chess board - black and white squares. Original and tasty.
Then came out a soup with a lobster. That one was kind of with a Japanese hint, a lot of spices and herbs, and it was not creamy as was said on the menu. Because of too much spices - you couldn't feel the real taste of a lobster.
After was "Le chapon roti" - a domestic coq served with truffles, pie of artichokes and foie gras. It was really great, very delicate and palatable, especially foie gras and truffles made the dish that savory.
A cheese tart, literally, of Savarin, with a bouquet of fresh garden grass and nuts. The cheese was delicious, but I didn't like the nut streak in the middle.
And a lovely stunner strawberry macaron with a rose sorbet for dessert. And a lot of sweet compliments for your after donner drinks or coffee. To make your life sweeter before you see the check.
The wine list here will not leave indifferent a true wine expert. More than 1000 of various items, old vintages, all possible French wines. The fact is that Alain Dutournier, the Chef, in addition to his restaurants owns in the vicinity of Paris a huge wine cellar "les Caves de Marly". And what is especially captivating that here, in contrast for example to the more pompous his restaurant Carre des Feuillants, the margin is minimal. So, for real wine lovers, there is another good reason to visit this place. Sommelier looked like a teenage boy, we don't trust them in this age. Sommelier is supposed to be like some special wine - the older the better, more maturity.
Service was not impeccable, just ok. And too much of a time waiting between each set.
It was a good experience, but that's not kind of a food you eat on a daily basis. read more
