Meals arrived before our aperitifs, so quickly that we knew they weren't made to order. Sauces tasted like they were from a jar, vegetables were soggy, and fries tasted like they were frozen from a store, basically cafeteria food. We didn't bother with dessert. Service was ok, nothing special, and the coffee was decent. The food wasn't the worst, but we wouldn't go back. If you go, keep your expectations low and expect to pay tourist prices.

Since then they have definitely renovated this place. The rooms are pleasantly appointed. We even had a lovely balcony with chairs and tables which unfortunately were full of snow. But in the summer it would be great to sit and had some coffee or red wine. We chose the half board and had a lovely five course gourmet dinner the two nights we spent. The food was prepared perfectly. The second night our meet course consisted of filet mignon. We ordered it blue rare, and it actually came that way. For breakfast there was a lovely buffet with a variety of jams, fresh baguettes, cereals, yogurt, cold cuts, cheeses, two different types of cake, and even German Christmas Stollen. The Beau Site has a sister property a block down the road. There hotel guests can use the spa facilities. There is a lovely heated pool, a Jacuzzi, as well as steam room and dry saunas. There is a charge for this. When we arrived at the property he already had robes, towels, and slippers waiting for us. They also offer a variety of treatments but we passed on those. We will definitely return some time in the spring or summer.

Our waitress, whose name I sadly did not get, was extremely wonderful and she made our experience even better. Once the restaurant slowed down, she took the time to chat with us. The decor is lovely inside and out on the beautifully friendly and open terrasse.
