Memphis Shades - Front of the bike after install

I hate adding anything after market to my Honda Rebel 300. It has the cleanest retro lines. But…read moredriving without a windshield is impossible on the freeway so I added (and installed myself) a 3rd party windshield. I opted for a short, 13" windshield in dark smoke. The next size up was a 17" and it would have made the bike look more like a scooter than a motorcycle so no way I was going that route. It was a challenging installation. The windshield is supposed to be easily-removed with just two easy catches but I could not get the windshield to fit around my headlight that way. I had to think outside the box and use the installation instructions in reverse by installing the windshield brackets to my bike before attaching the windshield to the brackets. The instructions told you to do it the other way but that would not work on my bike unless I first removed the headlight. But even then it was never going to be an easily removable windshield on my bike. In short, to remove it requires a complete uninstall. After the install I took it on the Interstate freeway for the first time. I had it up above 60MPH since I owned it but always without a windshield it felt as though I would be blown off the bike. Without the windshield I literally had to lay down on the gas tank on very windy days especially. That is uncomfortable for long drives. The tiny windshield makes a huge difference. Now the wind is channeled over my head instead of in my face and chest. I felt for the first time that driving the Honda Rebel 300 at freeway speeds for an extended amount of time is entirely possible. It was so much more comfortable with the windshield. I may not have looked quite as cool driving it but the sacrifice for being able to drive it on the freeway is well worth it. My regular truck gets under 20MPG and I regularly have to visit my Mom about 2 hours drive away. So for the good weather anyway, I will save depreciation by adding the miles on my motorcycle instead of my expensive truck. I got this windshield online from 'Memphis Shades'. They said it would fit my 2025 Honda Rebel 300 and it does. I love it. The install took about 30 minutes because first I tried to install it following the instructions. Once I realized I needed to assemble it in reverse then it only took about 15 minutes to install. It has 4 sturdy C clamps holding it to the bike. It is a solid install. I had already added the side bags for storage. The side bags completely hide the gorgeous rounded fender of the back tire. This rounded fender actually adds to the retro style of the bike so while these things are necessary for travel, I feel as though I have detracted from the overall look of the bike with these things. The bike was impractical without them. There are different kinds of motorcycle storage bags but side bags are the most common. One of my friends commented that the side bags make it look like an old man's bike, lol. Well I will be 65 this year so I guess I qualify in any regards. I took it on the 95 freeway for the first time today flirting with 75MPH, no problem. Some of my friends and family said I should have bought the next size up Honda instead (the Honda Rebel 500), but it is a heavier bike. When choosing a bike it is important to consider what you will do when the bike needs service. The Honda Rebel 300 that I bought weighs under 400 lbs without the accessories. But the Honda Rebel 500 has the same sized frame but is well over 400 lbs. To load the bike on the back of my truck I must be able to push it up a ramp from the side. I can just barely do this with my Honda 300 myself. As it is I need to remove the accessories to load it. With more weight in the case of the Honda Rebel 500 I would always need assistance to load and unload. The Honda 300-350 CC have always been Honda's entry-level bike. Because of this Honda makes them good because it builds brand loyalty and Honda Rebel owners often become Honda Gold Wing owners later on. The 2025 Honda Rebel 300 is an awesome bike. For me it has plenty of power. I can leave most any automobile sitting back at the light. As long as I can compete in traffic (and I can) I know I bought the right bike for me. You can find Memphis Shades online. They have a great tool for finding the parts that fit your own bike. I highly recommend this product.

Made sure all dust/dirt was washed off and areas being worked on were cleaned. I keep this bike in excellent, clean condition. Picked up quad two weeks later to find mud, dirt and rocks built up all throughout the undercarriage, wheel wells and on top of the bike. Areas that I specifically made sure there was ZERO debris, are now filled with lose clotted dirt and rocks. The four wheeler has 16 new miles on the odometer, and the gas tank went from 3/4 filled to nearly empty when I picked it up. The shop owner swears that no one would take my quad off-roading and that the dirt, mud and rocks could've come from "over spray when washing other quads near by". I asked him how golf ball sized rocks and caked mud/dirt can get in the axle areas and underplate by over spray. The odometer reading on their paperwork reads 0 miles in and 0 miles out although I watched him document the mileage when dropping it off. This shop 100% took my quad off roading into deep mud and did a terrible job trying to clean it and hide the evidence. I was actually planning on buying a 2022 hayabusa from this shops showroom until this happened. Potential customers beware of this shop. Terrible attitude from the team the entire experience as well.

Once I arrived home with the bike I noticed an oil leak and immediately called Chris my sales rep, and explained my concern. He told me to bring the bike back to the store the following day ( Saturday, March 22, 2025 ) I arrived at the store Saturday at 9am to be greeted by Preston from the service team. He showed great empathy for my concern. Preston checked the bike in to investigate the oil leak at that time. Several hours later, Preston came to me and assured me that they fixed the oil leak and my concerns has been resolved. I took possession of the bike and rode it straight home. Once I arrived home 30 minutes later , I found to my surprise the bike was STILL leaking oil. Now I am frustrated and demanding a refund. I contacted the General Manager Reggie and explained my concern and frustrations but all he offered me was to work on the bike and that they would not issue me a refund and take the bike back. Mind you , I haven't had the bike for a full 24hrs so I'm confused on why I could not return the bike. Reggie sent out a rep to come pick up the bike from my home so they could work on it AGAIN, I still do not have the bike. I no longer want the bike at this point. I am very disappointed and frustrated with the situation. I feel that I am being taken advantage of, and not being treated as a valued customer. I'm loss for words on how to proceed. I have contacted my attorney to council me on my next approach. In closing, I value Harley Davidson for what they stand for and product they stand behind. But this situation leads me to question the leadership for this amazing brand!
