I've had my hair highlighted and colored in the past but never had this technique. I was a by nervous because as seen in the photo I posted, my hair is dark. I didn't want the color to be "orange" as sometimes my dark hair when lightening up turns. I explained everything to the stylist, Alexis, and she calmed my nerves and explained the whole technique and didn't continue until I was comfortable with the price & procedure. I would ONLY recommend going to Alexis because she has a vision for current hairstyles and engages options for the client. After visiting with her a bit, she shared about pursuing current hair techniques and taking additional classes after hours to offer various hairstyles/cuts for her clientele. For instances, she took a before photo and I was able to see my current haircut from different angles, and then explained the technique she wanted to apply before doing it. I am a very thorough person and enjoyed getting an explanation. Overall, from the receptionist staff to the hairstylists in the background, I would recommend this salon to my friends and family. When I returned recently for the exact same service, they charged me $80-- a 100% increase from the original price. When I questioned it, I was told the new price starts at $55 and still insisted I pay $80. The owner refused to come out and speak with me, instead sending the receptionist. To make it worse, they even threatened to call the police if I didn't pay the full amount. That's not how you treat paying customers. Some people have no business owning a salon if they can't deal with customers the right way--with honesty, professionalism, and respect. If prices have increased, they should clearly inform clients before the service is done and confirm if that's acceptable--instead of trying to trick people into paying more and using intimidation tactics. I've had blowouts all over the U.S., and I've never experienced anything like this. It was completely unacceptable. I will never return. If you value fair pricing and decent customer service, stay far away from this place.
