Although I planned on meeting him around 12:30, quickly headed out door as he was okay with eta of less than 20mins. Derek did a thorough job in explaining everything. What I really like about Green Scene is their videos along with the detailed photo report. They also use thermal imaging. Long ago, I had an inspector briefly point out things and provided written report afterwards. I was definitely okay shelling out more money for a piece of mind. Derek did nitpick a bit but, with this kind of investment, nitpicking is very welcomed! He even gave me his business card, inspection/notes paper and pen in case I thought of anything once home and brain had time to digest everything. :-) Highly recommend Green Scene!

During that visit, he made unprompted remarks about my personal life that had nothing to do with the inspection. When I told him that his behavior felt intimidating, he responded that he had researched me on the "deep dark web." We then asked that our interactions remain strictly professional and limited to inspection-related matters, but he declined to agree to that boundary. The encounter left us feeling unsafe and deeply uncomfortable. We have since filed a formal complaint with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) regarding this incident. It is our personal recommendation to stay very far from this company. Homeowners deserve respect, professionalism, and basic privacy when inviting someone into their home.

Chances are if you live in an older home not built up to today's building codes, and even if you…read moredo, the insulation & ventilation in your attic may not be up to par with the current standards. My home was built in the late '70s, and the previous homeowners did nothing to rid the home of its original rockwhool insulation. The minuscule 6-8" of insulation that was once in my attic was ridden with rodent feces/urine, turning to dust, and wasn't as effective as it once was. This not only caused my home to have imbalanced heating/cooling, but also strained my HVAC system, making it work significantly harder than it otherwise would. Combine the lack of insulation with improper ventilation, and you set yourself up for a home that's not comfortable to live in, while in the process of taking precious dollars away from your pocket, all due to increased electric/gas bills. I called Energy Attic back in 2019 to see what they had to say about my attic, and they came out to do an energy audit. They filled me in on everything that was wrong, and what I could do to fix it. The estimate they provided was very insightful, breaking down the cost of every service, and allowing you as a homeowner to do what's best for your house and pocketbook. At the time I was unable to afford the job, so I decided to hold off on the project. Fast forward to early 2022, I gave them yet another call, and due to a mishap in getting the square footage of my home incorrect (was overestimated due to some vaulted ceilings), we decided to have them come back out to my house to give things a look. I spoke with their sales representative Mike for a decent amount of time, making sure I understood what was best. Mike's insight was incredibly valuable, and I ended up going with a whole host of things to improve my attic space: - Removing all old insulation - Sealing any air gaps - Spraying in fiberglass insulation to R49 (16") - Installing a radiant barrier - Upgrading existing fan with a solar fan Energy Attic ended up scheduling the job for the next week, and three of their employees ended up working for nine hours, knocking everything out of the park the same day. I've had a lot of contractors & such work on my home, and these gentlemen treated my home with dignity, cleaning up after themselves, and ensuring the job is done perfectly. Almost immediately I was able to notice the consistency in temperature throughout the home, and not just that, but also my HVAC system kicking on less. I'm stoked that the days of dealing with certain rooms being colder/hotter than others are gone, and my attic space can properly reflect any heat thrown at it away with the radiant barrier, and push any heat out that did get in with the solar fan, regardless of wind conditions outside. While a job like this is costly, making your home comfortable to live in year-round is very much worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Energy Attic for any of your attic or HVAC needs. I'm pleased with what they have done, and I can't lie, my attic space sure does look better than ever!

I know for a fact that I asked if the quote and payment we gave for attic insulation, included over the garage. I was told yes, and I know I asked at least three times, and was told yes. The two other people in the home, heard it as well. The over the garage was not insulated. Now I understand, that I should have checked before I left the other review. That's on me. I shouldn't have taken anyone else's word, and I should have gotten the ladder and looked. When I texted the man who came here, I was told yes "no, it only includes over living space". The insulation over the living space is nicely done. I am very pleased with that. Just very irritated that, what I was told was going to happen, and included, turns out it's not.

At no point was there a push to sell or upsell. His main focus was to ensure that the customer got the most from his visit. Will be using their services to fix some of the issues identified. The duct cleaning was scheduled for a different day. The techs arrived early and were very efficient and thorough in the job they performed. The work and cleanup was completed to my satisfaction. The pricing for the duct cleaning is competitive in comparison to other companies in the market. I highly recommend the services of Climate Doctors for your duct cleaning and sanitation. Then we got our first electric bill and it was outrageous. I started Googling because K knew there had to be someone who could help us. I luckily stumbled across ACT and gave them a call. Ricky came out the next week and did an energy audit of our home. It was so extremely detailed and thorough - quite impressive. I immediately had faith in our issues being identified. Of course, we had a number of problems, but all could be resolved - hallelujah!! Ricky and his crew came back the following week and spent 2 days fixing all the issues. Broken ducts, soffit vents that were clogged, over a gallon of caulk to seal up various leaks in the attic, as well as the installation of solar vents on the roof. I can't pretend to understand how their scoring is done, but we went from a score of 285 down to 118. New build homes are required to be at least at an 80. While it was a chunk of money, I can already see the results and know the return on investment will be swift. So so glad I stumbled upon this company!!

About 3 months after our initial install we got a call saying that the technician who installed our panels originally didn't do it right and is no longer with the company. They said they would have to come out and reinstall everything including moving our battery from inside the garage to outside of the house. They then informed us they're booked out for about 2 months so we would have to wait. We ended up not producing any electricity all of April in May because of this. During this whole ordeal it was like pulling teeth trying to get anyone to talk to us. We finally got things fixed and I was hoping that was the end of it. When we were sold the panels they told us that they monitor everyone's usage so they would be aware if any of our panels went out before we did and would promptly fix it. That isn't the case. We noticed that we had a panel go out at the beginning of this month (August) and they never noticed. It's almost the end of the month and we've tried calling every day this week to be sent straight to voicemail and the voicemail box being full. We've tried to send emails and messaging through other platforms but all we're getting back is radio silence. I'm getting concerned about the quality of our panels and service. Our initial experience was really good but after we paid them things just haven't been going well. I'm hoping we hear back from someone soon so we can fix our broken panel. We're really disappointed with how things have been going.
