I was in the ER for 19 hours because they didn't have any beds upstairs. That is unacceptable. But the doctors and nurses did their best to care for me until I could be admitted. Wen was part of the overnight staff and was incredible. The ER was not sanitary. The bathrooms in the waiting room and within the ER especially were not being maintained and I might have contracted the flu from using them. Once I was admitted to the second floor, the levels of care were exponentially better. I had around the clock care and a call button for if I needed anything. They made sure I knew what was happening with my body and gave me full control over my treatment options. The food was surprisingly acceptable; sometimes even good. One thing that I found strange was that I never was told about how billing worked or what my insurance would cover. I am lucky that they are contracted with my insurance and I only owe $50 from the ER. But it is concerning that I never was told about billing while I was there. TLDR: Hire more sanitation workers!

My mom and I were having a very difficult day, and from the moment Joshua greeted us, he made us feel safe, welcomed, and cared for. He kindly guided us to the front of the ER, and when it was time to leave, he personally helped my mom in her wheelchair all the way to our car. It wasn't just what he did...it was the genuine care and compassion he showed while doing it. His kindness, patience, and willingness to help lifted a heaviness I was carrying that day and reminded me how much simple acts of compassion can mean. Joshua went above and beyond his role, and his professionalism and empathy made a lasting impression on us. Garfield Hospital is fortunate to have someone like him representing the hospital. Thank you, Joshua, for treating us with such kindness and respect.

Only to get to waist time going to be sent home and have them say go to your primary doctor. Been there 3 times for all different types of conditions and they definitely lack knowledge and experience. This is more of an urgent care type of place. Also the bathrooms were nasty and discharging you is key yet charge you for your visits full cost on that insurance policy. Granted some nurses are so friendly but what can that resolve medically really? Please don't waist your time here unless it a common cold type of thing. Best of luck to those who do get treated. Everything is handled by call. Also took my blood without reading my results and my urine sample. Discharge papers wore never given to me without any further update. Lawsuit if you as me...

He's the past mayor of Arcadia. Yelpers, meet Dr. Michael Cao! I was referred for a CAC (Coronary Artery Calcium scan) to check for arteries clogged by too many Yelp events. No referrals here, the scan is done right in the office by a trained radiologist. Dr. Cao himself reviews the scan and follows up if there's more to be done. Fortunately, my diagnosis was no build-up, continue Yelping. The doctor is very approachable and popular, given a very full waiting room and a huge staff moving everybody around. Despite being so busy, I felt like I was the only patient around that day. Thanks Yelp for my new cardiologist.

I am deeply disappointed with the care my father received from Dr. Michael Cao and his office…read more After my father was discharged from the hospital in August 2024, it was urgently recommended that he see a cardiologist due to his heart issues. Dr. Cao saw my dad in September, and a test was conducted soon after. However, when it came to releasing the results or reviewing them for potential risks, Dr. Cao and his office became incredibly uncooperative. Not only did they make it extremely difficult for us to get the test results, but they also caused unnecessary delays for both my father's primary care physician and his high-risk doctor in obtaining critical information. The office staff kept the report from me and my family which I know I have the rights to obtain. After countless of heated arguments with their office staff going back and forth about the results by the time they agreed to send the results it was time to see Dr. Cao for the follow-up. Then Dr. Cao just simply said our case needs to be referred to another specialist when they could've referred us directly to begin with. Despite the urgency of my father's case, it seemed like Dr. Cao was unwilling to prioritize the situation. My father passed away in November 2024 due to cardiac arrest, and I can't help but feel that better communication and more proactive care might have made a difference. I expected better from a cardiologist, especially when my dad's health was at such high risk. Sadly, this experience has been a frustrating and painful one, and I would not recommend Dr. Cao to anyone in need of urgent care. During this time I heard he is the mayor so it seemed like he was too occupied and prioritizing that over the care for his patients.

ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT and HORRIBLE DOCTORS, OFFICE STAFF, AND MANAGER. Their malpractice and…read morenegligence had delayed my cancer treatment by more than a month. Dr. Howard Yeh told me to come in 6/16 to determine whether I would need additional chemotherapy. When I arrived for the appointment, he asked me for my PET scan results BUT I had no PET scan results because he FORGOT to authorize a PET scan for me. So I asked him if he could at least tell me the results of the two blood tests he had me take prior to my appointment. But when he looked at the tests, he realized he FORGOT to order cancer markers as part of the blood tests, and instead was only checking white blood cell count. He tried to blame it all on the office instead of taking accountability. I booked a blood test for the next day, but because of Yeh's malpractice, the soonest PET scan appointment I could get was a MONTH later. TOI couldn't do anything to help me so I had to call other places myself looking for a sooner appointment but I would first need to find an appointment, get a new authorization for the new facility, cancel the old authorization, call back the new facility and hope that the appointment didn't get booked in the meantime. The Oncology Institute manager Ana Barrilas said she would everything she could to help me ONLY AFTER I mentioned that taking legal action against Yeh may be necessary. She promised to call me back and told me that I could text her anytime and she would get back to me or have someone at the office get back to me. HOWEVER, most of it was lip service. She wasn't able to get me a sooner PET scan even though this was a result or Dr. Yeh's incompetence. FURTHER, I was the one who had to call her back anytime I wanted an update on anything. She would promise to call me and then leave me hanging for days. Luckily I was able to get a PET scan because another patient cancelled, NOT because Ana did anything to help. Then when I FINALLY got a PET scan, Yeh went on vacation BEFORE looking at the results!!! If you value your physical and mental health, go elsewhere for treatment. Dr. Howard Yeh is incompetent and negligent. Ana Barillas lies and pays lip service in order to try to placate you so that you don't rightfully sue the hell out of their doctors for malpractice and negligence. She does her best to deceive you and appear sincere, but she consistently breaks her word. She doesn't care about you.
