She is in a wheelchair, so mobility, and assistance is key for her daily routines. Within a short time, the staff at Brandywine have become her family. Every department makes resident life their priority. When covid started in the spring, the staff quickly introduced new protocols, and have done a remarkable job keeping everyone safe, and healthy. We receive weekly status updates on staff and residents, and more if necessary. Although the pandemic has created anxiety and concern, our family is grateful everyday she lives there. We cannot imagine her living anywhere else. Now, our mother plays bingo, poker, attends happy hour, and is involved in most activities. All done with small groups, scheduled, distanced, with masks. Our mother is living the last years of her life happy, healthy, and safe.

I found community among the residents. I became sick and needed to isolate. The managers have never contacted me or asked if I needed anything. I have had to call several times to have a package brought up that I needed, received 6 hours later. Before you move in, the management is all over you. I believe the tone is set by management. I am disappointed. Before you sign on, consider what I have experienced. I will make the best of what is. Hopefully, this may help create change. Kindness and compassion goes a long way in providing a caring and supportive environment.

I am thankful for those who took such good care of me during my five week stay at Care One. I also watched how others who had problems more difficult than mine were treated. Has to be one of the most difficult jobs taking care of the very sick who are unable to communicate with their care provider. From what I witnessed the people at Care One were very professional and caring in the treatment of their patients. Of course there are those who are more attentive than others. But in my opinion they are very special people.

The nurse and aids get about 75% outstanding and 25% should not be working in patient care…read more I spent about 8 days here after having my ankle fused because I could not take care of myself. I was very weak. Mostly I got plenty of help when needed. Got meds and food on time. Got a little tired of kosher food after a week but it was ok. THE BIG PROBLEM WAS THE BED. IT WAS BEYOND UNCOMFORTABLE, IT CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY lower BACK THAT I STILL HAVEN'T RECOVERED FROM. Same beds as at Cambridge rehab. Again I doubt anyone checked these bed out before buying them for the entire facility. My back got so bad, I would just sit on it and cry all night. The nurses tried to help. Lidocaine patches, extra medication but the pain was as bad as my ankle. I couldn't wait to go home. Shame on hospital suppliers who sell beds that have a hard rod running horizontally across the bed right where you lumbar spine meets you sacroiliac. How do they expect us to recover.
