I had always been a solid standardized test taker and achieved good scores through self-study with books from Princeton Review, but that approach did not work for me this time (likely due to me being out of an academic environment and out of engineering for 10+ years). A family member suggested I try a prep class or tutoring, and I'm so glad I did. I opted for the private tutoring with Steve (the founder/owner) because I felt it would be more effective for me given my specific GRE strengths and weaknesses, and I also thought it would be a more efficient use of my limited time. It worked great for me on both these points. The additional strategies and structure, combined with personalized instruction from Steve were just what I needed. In addition to very good instruction about the overall test and strategies for different sections, Steve added tremendous value by walking me through the diagnostic assessment for each of the 4 or 5 additional online practice tests I completed. This aspect of the test prep was hugely helpful, as it pointed out where I was spending too much time, which types of questions I tended to get right or wrong, where I needed to focus on answering faster but still accurately, and more. Overall, the weeks of tutoring, homework, practice tests, and reviews were excellent training that helped prepare me for the actual test; it was kind of like training for a marathon or other big event. In the end, my scores saw a significant improvement, and I'm thankful to Steve for the coaching and instruction and to everyone at the office for the positive encouragement throughout. A few minor things I think could improve the overall experience: 1/ I was caught by surprise on test day when a 3rd quant section popped up. I had read about the "experimental section" but had forgotten, and all of the practice tests had just the 2 Verbal and 2 Quant, so I had gotten used to that. I'm generally okay under pressure, but would have preferred no surprises in the actual test. This note is mostly for test takers to be aware, but maybe Sandweiss could also provide a little reminder about this during the practice test reviews, or something. 2/ I wish I had done another tutoring session just focused on the essays; in two of my test review sessions, Steve reviewed my Issue and Argument essays and provided useful feedback, but I did not feel as well-prepared on that section of the test. Perhaps an extra session on that would have helped me feel better prepared. 3/ This is nitpicky, but the office building is fairly old. Would be nicer if the offices were in a newer building with nicer facilities and more parking, but I understand this adds cost and all-else being equal, I'd rather keep the rates low and deal with an older building.

Instead of going to law school, I found other things to keep me busy and when my score expired this year, I decided to try and take the exam again. After looking through the different potential programs, I decided on Blueprint. I liked the web interface and their ability to track your performance on different questions seemed like a good idea. I had no idea how right I was. The course was two months and took place at the University of Washington. The class size was small enough so that the teacher, Chris, was able to get to know everyone. Both Chris and the Blueprint materials effectively taught the Blueprint method for all three sections on the LSAT. Chris was a great instructor keeping everything relaxed and relevant (by using comic real world examples) but also structured and moving forward at a brisk pace. We took six practice exams, but the course also offered an extra 11 exams that could be taken on your own. If that wasn't enough, one of the real benefits of the Blueprint method was the website and the data analytics. The instructors have created a database of questions and classified them based on a type and how difficult they are. That way when you get something wrong, you can figure out if you're getting the same type of question wrong and then drill to get it right. I found it very useful in targeting which type of logical reasoning questions I was weak on and which games I was having trouble on. All in all, I was very satisfied with my experience at Blueprint.

This will give some users advantage and put others at disadvantages the speedometers won't work on some so you are left guessing how fast to go. And they WILL FAIL YOU if you go too slow. So learn to read speed magically. 2. They ALSO test against the different bikes. If you are LUCKY and get a nice bike you Pass! If you don't, you WILL fail. Why? They won't say what the time limit is But you are tested against time. So all nice BMW bikes get to pass whilst all other bikes, most of them fail. 3. You WILL NOT be prepped for the test. The test has different criteria you should meet than what you practice for And just found out..PAY 50$ to retake endorsement test and guess what... they will TRAIN YOU for the test so you can have prestige runs till you get to a point where you can pass. Apparently this is not included in the Basic course worth 350$. Why? They don't have an answer. So expect to pay another 50$ and hope you pass then cause they got the money! This will be lengthy. I would rate the district with five stars for my normal child. It's very…read moredifficult for me to give a rating based on my slightly autistic child. Autism is becoming more prevalent and the need for teachers that are trained specifically to deal with autism isn't required (not in this state, and I'm honestly not up to date on what is required here or other states). Even our special Ed teachers, or teachers working in CLC classrooms. For the most part, I think our experience is average, and I wouldn't equate that statement to a compliment. IEP's are stressful, and at times I feel that specific needs aren't met. By law, schools are required to be inclusive, meaning our special Ed kids should have as much time in their regular grade level classrooms as possible, which is good for the general education classes to experience as well. I can understand (having a regular kid) some debate against this; I wouldn't want my general Ed child having less of an education because the teacher is spending all their time with a special needs child. And I'm uncomfortable with the cost of an aid standing by my child full time, even though he should have it if he needs it. The last couple of years my autistic child was in school, he wasn't aloud in a regular classroom setting. He does need a lot of support though, so, I'm somewhat understanding. I feel that this creates a breeding ground for bullying. He would be alone during lunch time, and excluded by the other kids who wouldn't allow him to sit at their table. He had to sit at the peanut free table while eating his pb&j, something that his teacher never did anything about. We have had some kind and compassionate teachers, and only one horrible general Ed teacher experience to speak of. I would say that my experience with having a child with autism in this school district has at times been very sad and heartbreaking. I have had other parents quit speaking to me entirely upon finding out that my child is in special Ed, and while that has nothing to do with the district, it says a lot about the attitudes you might expect. Certainly not all parents! Some haven't acted any different when they learn this. My general Ed kid goes to Crystal Springs, which unfortunately doesn't have a special Ed class. It seems like the most understanding parents I have met, have been here. I would rate this child's experience with different schools in this district with a one star. I don't wish to offend most of his great teachers with this rating, rather point out that big changes for these special needs kids needs to happen. There are so many aspects of the implemented system that can make a parent feel like their child is equal to dog poop, in the districts eyes. I would also like to add that if you met my son and didn't know anything about autism, you would never guess he had it, which can actually be a big disadvantage even dealing with teachers. I now have my child enrolled in Northshore Networks, which is a homeschool type program. Initially, when I tried to enroll him, the person I spoke with told me I had to get a new IEP written up and then the process would be started. I did exactly as directed but when I brought in the updated IEP, this very same person then indicated that they typically won't take kids on an IEP..... I felt so upset and angry about this. I am in a lucky enough position to be able to homeschool my child- not everyone can take this on! He did end up getting into Northshore Networks, and things are so much better. His teacher there is above fantastic, and my son is being educated now at his grade level, and he is no longer depressed. I am grateful to be able to do this for him, and that the district has this program. I would rate Northshore Networks with 5 stars! Great option and wonderful people here. I would still rate it this high even though enrolling him had its frustrating moments. I wish this program was a little bigger so as to allow more kids this option. That may be why they are selective? Please keep in mind that Northshore Networks is a homeschool program and means that as a parent you become entirely responsible for education, only meeting with a teacher once per week, to check assignments and get new ones. Thank you Northshore for letting us into the homeschool program, and for my daughters wonderful school. We have a ways to go though, for our special needs kids education and socialization. It's probably not the worst, but certainly room for improvement. One more thing I would like to add: my general Ed student has never had a teacher that we didn't love. Every single one. And they have all been above our expectations.

A lot of other places would advertise a given amount (for example $35-50) but then the CPR book and skills portion were extra. Sometimes costing near $100 total! SafeGard was thankfully upfront and it was a flat $35 for the online class and skills portion and they are an actual training center for the American Heart Association. Getting registered and taking the online test was a little winded and lengthy, but eventually I was set up and taking my classes right away. I then was able to take the skills portion at the actual office which is just next door to Black Raven brewery. Carrie was our instructor and was very lively and informative. Class was 2 hours and after quite a few chest compressions on a dummy I got my CPR card! It was so easy and affordable. I'd recommend SafeGard for anyone needing to get certified ASAP.

Sherry's enthusiasm and passion for motorcycling and teaching were amazing. She has a very vibrant way of teaching that easily holds your attention. Both Sherry and Sean were super helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. They WANT you to succeed and they're beyond great at what they do. That being said, it would be nice if the class sizes could be smaller. Our class was 16 riders. On the range, we had both instructors present, but I felt like if there had been fewer riders, there would have been more room for individualized help and feedback. I want to be very clear that this is a critique of the WMST class itself and NOT a fault of the instructors in any way--the instructors truly did their absolute best to help everyone and spent extra time with the people who needed it most while still being attentive to everyone. Having more time on the range would also be helpful for nailing skills down. The bikes seemed to be well-maintained (take with a grain of salt since I only rode two). I liked that we got to pick what style of bike we wanted to ride. I felt extremely lucky with my classmates; everyone was super kind and supportive of each other, which was awesome! Honestly, a big highlight of this experience for me was the other wonderful people taking the course alongside me--to say they were great would be an understatement. *** End of review, advice below *** I have literally zero experience with motorcycles and was lucky enough to pass my permit exams first try. This is a whole new skill you're learning and you absolutely need to set yourself up for success! *Your course includes the Champ U NEW RIDER online course, at the BARE MINIMUM you need to complete the portions outlined in the email. But don't stop there. COMPLETE THE WHOLE ENTIRE ONLINE COURSE **BEFORE** YOUR IN-PERSON COURSE! You really need to set yourself up for success with the book learning, especially if you don't have access to practice with a motorcycle. Even if you have previous experience, I would still recommend completing the entire online course because you want any misconceptions corrected before they possibly hurt you. The online course covers a lot of great stuff, there's really no reason not to do it (it's free!). Plan ahead and start it early because it takes a while to get through everything, but this is a lifelong skill and I promise you it's totally worth it! *ENGAGE IN CLASSROOM DISCUSSIONS!!! PAY ATTENTION DURING CLASSROOM PORTIONS! Show the instructors that you are listening by engaging with the discussions! IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, ASK! The instructors are super friendly and are more than happy to explain anything you're wondering about. *Watch videos of the permit test on YouTube so you know what to expect *Take deep breaths and try to relax! Watch what everyone else is doing and see how everybody is making mistakes. IT'S OK! That's part of learning! It helps your confidence when you realize that pretty much everyone else is struggling and learning too! If you don't pass the first time, don't beat yourself up. A friend wanted to get his motorcycle license so I decided to take the class with him. We took the…read more3 day "Learn to Ride" class with WMST in Auburn. This class is the first of two classes to get the motorcycle endorsement. Passing the Learn to Ride class gives you the permit, allowing you to legally ride and practice riding for six months but with some restrictions (not riding with other passengers or at night among other things). Passing the returning rider course gives you the actual endorsement that does not have any restrictions. The Auburn classroom location is next to the Johnny Rocket's and across the Dave & Buster's at the Outlet Collection Mall. Day 1 was on Friday evening and consisted of a couple of hours of learning safety rules, myths vs facts, tips, and laws of riding motorcycles in the classroom. Day 2 started off on the range where we rode the motorcycles provided by the class and learned the basics of riding. In the afternoon, we went back to the classroom to learn the rest of the material and then took the written test. Day 3 was on the range where we continued practicing our riding abilities and then ended with the riding exam. The written exam consisted of 50 multiple choice questions (mostly common sense questions) and you need an 80% to pass. The riding exam consisted of 5 riding exercises to test basic riding abilities. Now onto the class itself: it is meant for beginners and those with no motorcycle riding experience, but the instructors moved quickly and skipped a couple of things that I thought would've been important to tell students in case they have no knowledge about motorcycles. Extremely simple things like how to know if a bike is too big for you, how to shift gears, and how to properly hold the handles without getting wrist pain. I learned a good amount of the basics from asking other riders because our instructors didn't teach us for whatever reason. It's a class where they let you go and figure things out on your own and they jump in when you need it. I like that but I'd also appreciate knowing how to do some things to help accelerate our learning. At some points the instructor was more interested in telling jokes than actually teaching the class which wasn't ideal. I never planned on buying a motorcycle or riding one on the road, but I wanted to try something new and this was an educational class that got me out of my comfort zone. I passed both exams which I'm happy about but the class itself wasn't the best experience. The instructors were interesting characters but not the best educators. Some other things I wish I would've known: - You can use hiking boots as your riding boots. This would've prevented me from buying motorcycle boots just for the course that I won't use again. - They have helmets that you can borrow if you don't have one. Again, I bought a helmet just for the course. - Read the motorcycle operating manual before the class so terminology is not new to you if you're not familiar with riding.
