I…read moretook the Product Management Certification course with Tarun Gangwani to help further my attempts to break into Product Management. Tarun offered real-world insights into the topics and often engaged the class to go above and beyond with our work. I came out of the class with applicable knowledge that I am now applying even in my engineering role. Tarun is a great guide for the Product Management space and offers great material to keep growing and pushing forward even after the certification is over! As for the downsides of the class, there weren't many, but these were the ones I thought are worth mentioning. The learning management system that Product School uses seems pretty dated, I'm hoping they come through with an updated format as I feel that it did detract a little from the learning experience. The other would be the choice of communication from Product School. Their Slack plan often has messages disappearing due to message restrictions. Be sure to keep your own notes and copy over any pertinent information from the Slack messages! Despite those minor inconveniences, I felt that Tarun overcame these difficulties successfully and was able to create a great learning environment for the entire class. He really went above and beyond in the transfer to online classes through the quarantine (such an unexpected scenario was handled swimmingly). I definitely trust Product School with the talent they choose for their classes and imagine that other classes emulate similar experiences (but definitely try to take Tarun if you can).

The quality of the class seemed to vary widely depending on how many people were in the class. The online classes seem like they accommodate a lot more people than the in-person sessions, so depending on what kind of experience you want from the class, it would be an important factor to consider when registering. I registered for the in-person class in Seattle, which only had 5 people. Due to the smaller class size, the instructor, Mark Tan, was able to customize the syllabus a bit to what we wanted to learn and we even got the opportunity to hear from other product managers from different companies. The only drawback to the class was that sometimes the final project seemed a bit out of sync with the class material, and there were some points during the course where we could've benefited from a more in-depth dive into things, but I think a lot of those gaps got filled in towards the later half of the class where we had a little more flexibility in planning course content.

Headon was my son's first drive instructor and she insisted that I ride along so that I knew how to correctly instruct my son when I was teaching him. She was a perfect driving instructor. Then, he had Pam for two drives and his final test. She was so sweet and thorough. Each instructor gave important tips throughout the whole drive time. I highly recommend this location.

What I found was an incredible set of tools and methods to be more effective in my every-day life. By understanding and focusing on what is most important to me, I have been able to combine my passion for technology with my love of working with people in a tech management role at an early-stage startup. I have since taken a variety of other courses from Context and each one has been incredibly valuable, helping me understand what motivates me, the experiences I want in life, and the legacy I want to leave behind. We are incredibly grateful for this school, the holistic education it's provided our children and the community that has been the anchor for our family life. The teachers are excited about what they teach, care deeply for the students. With enthusiasm for their subjects and the freedom and support they need to follow that enthusiasm they make engaging, responsive, project based learning the norm all through the program. The kids stay excited about learning, comfortable asking questions and learn to ask for what they need as a learner. Our modern lives are designed in a way that is isolating and can wearus down with the load of demands of parenting- but the model of cooperative school (that's very flexible/understands we work too!) means that you can build real relationships and community in a society where that can be incredibly hard. At U co-op our children end up with so many loving adults who know and care for them - I can't overstate how valuable that is. Especially when life brings rough seasons or crisis. We know each other's kids and support each other through this parenting journey. The nurturing, adventurous environment helps kids be comfortable and confident in themselves -quirks and struggles included. My kids love going to school and I love the joyful childhood it has given them.

We have loved this place…read more We've been with U Co-op for the last two years, with almost a year and a half of that during the pandemic. I can't express how incredible the school has been. The most extraordinarily compassionate teachers and staff, and a parent community that has been supportive, resourceful, kind and caring. There is a warmth to the building (which we are thankfully back in - and masked) that we fell in love with from the first tour. It didn't feel cold or modern; it felt like creativity and childhood. There are nooks for reading, spaces for found art, paintings up everywhere. The teachers allow the children to follow their curiosity and even adjust the lessons to be relevant to the things that interest them. The kids are learning just as much as peers at other schools, but in a way that focuses on their self development and self esteem. This school has been a great find and has helped carry us through this difficult stretch.
