I travel around for worn across the U.S. I'm always looking for awesome man cave additions like 1:1 busts and cool replicas. I walked into a this place it was a really cool. Nice people who work there, supporting gaming locally. You can have a beer, and play games at no costs. They had some cool collectibles even though I didn't find my busts they had some nice gentle giant statues. Highly recommend checking it out. read more

Is this Heaven? No, it's Atomic Empire. Hard to tell the difference though. Great selection of board games, friendly staff that is helpful, not pushy, friendly. A really nice gaming space that was clean and accommodating, really good beers on tap, lots of board games to borrow and try out. We had a super fun time there. read more

Unfortunately I'm not close enough to visit the physical location, but I wanted to leave some feedback as all the interaction I've had with their online store and subscription service have been top notch. To start, they have a great selection of toys, statues, and back issues, and the best part is they're not at jacked up prices like a lot of other retailers. The subscription service is great, and it's super easy to cater it to your needs, including shipping frequency, auto bids for variants, and the great discount structure depending on the number of books you have on your list. Not to mention they somehow have some kind of magical Package Service USPS shipments, which somehow reach my CA location at the speed of Priority Mail. The real topper though is their customer service. I've only ever dealt with Erin, so I'm assuming she's in charge of the online component, but I always get speedy, polite responses to any question or issue I have. I only hope I might make it out to the physical location at some point. I can't recommend AE enough! read more

Don't Buy anything online unless you want to wait 2 week to get info on if its in stock even if it says in stock and then another 2 week to get it maybe. Waited 2 week to get a message of out of stock on something i paid already and they got my money just to say we are out so you can wait till we get more or refund. Wow even big stores dont take this long anymore and this is a brick and motar store??? This is a trash move of a store!!! read more

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! I ordered a comic to give as a birthday gift. I paid extra for fast shipping. After the expected delivery date had passed, I still had not received my order. I then sent a message to their customer service. They replied stating that my item was out of stock and that they, "apologize for the lack of communication." Because they didn't let me know that the item was out of stock, I was unable to order from another company in time for the person's birthday. read more

Liked the store in general. Did not like the service at all. I drove 2 hours to check out this store and I am not happy at all about the service. I just left the store exceptionally mad. After a long drive here. I had to drop my merchandise that I was going to buy $60 worth next to the checkout and immediately leave the store. And go home. The woman behind the counter was going out of her way to check out all other customers before she would even acknowledge me standing at the register. As I walked up to the register and she called out to another customer that was on his phone across the room for him to check out. He was not ready but decided to ask question on top of question and then order something then check out. 15 minutes later As a line started to form for check out behind me. She then took the customer behind me for the next check out. With out even acknowledging me standing at the register. She did not seam to care when I said "what the" when she began to talk to the person behind me. This prompted me to drop what I was going to buy from this store and promptly leave. I will not be treated that way in any store. I WILL BUY ONLINE before I buy from this store ever again. The store needs to look at it police for customer service. Or at least not to prefer the local gamers over people that are not local. I spent 4 hours on the road to come to this store and was treated badly. I was not willing on principle to wait on that staff member to decide when I would be served and refused to give Atomic Empire any of my hard earned money. Boo, Atomic Empire. I went in last night on a mission for 2 very specific items. I was looking for a specific board game, and I was looking for a mystery puzzle. I entered the store and was not greeted. I then spent 20 minutes looking around the games area. There were at least 2 employees who definitely saw me but no one ever approached me to see if I needed help. The employees chit-chatted and spoke to other customers - apparently regulars. I'd never visited the store before last night, and I felt out of my element. It would have been easy for an employee to ask me if I needed help or explain how the store works, but instead I was left feeling out of place and awkward. After 20 minutes, I left without a purchase. No one said good night to me on the way out, either. I went home and made my purchase online (definitely NOT my preferred method - I rather purchase from local businesses, but if they can't be bothered to help me then I'll just buy from an online source!) read more

I have received nothing but great reviews from friends and family who live in the RDU area about Atomic Empire. As a result. my family and I decided to stop in while we were passing through the area. While the store has a great selection of collectibles and memorabilia, I would not recommend it to anyone particularly those of ethnic or other minority groups. The reason that I say this is my family and I were altogether ignored during our trip to and time in the establishment. To be specific we were not greeted upon entering, we were not offered any form of assistance, and we were not thanked for stopping in. As a matter of fact, my wife put her hand up to wave upon our exit and was yet again all together ignored. What she received instead was a stare as the two associates continued in their conversation. Our 10 year old daughter subsequently said, "Wow daddy they were rude. Are they racist?" I responded, "I can't be certain if they're racist but they certainly are rude and that is why they didn't receive a dime of my money." It's rather appalling when a child notices such things. Shame on you Atomic Empire for ruining what was supposed to be a fun family experience. read more

I ordered 5 items from Atomic Empire. More than 3 weeks after my order was placed I received an email that they didn't have 2 of the items. They gave me the options of continuing to wait until the items were available (with no eta for when that would be), exchange the items (with no options for what was available for exchange), ship the 3 items they did have and refund the missing 2, or to ship the 3 available and ship the remaining 2 later with additional shipping costs (I would have to pay the additional shipping!!). I elected to have the 3 items they did have shipped and the 2 they did not have refunded. Within 5 minutes they emailed me back that another item I ordered was discontinued and unavailable. At this point I cancelled the entire order and had them process a full refund. I can deal with a website that doesn't update their inventory (frustrating but somewhat understandable) but the fact that it took them 3 weeks to let me know that items were missing tells me that they had not even begun to process my order until that day. Needless to say, I will not be doing future business with such a disorganized company that procrastinates to that extent. read more
