ALways looking for a cool comic book shop where people aren't awkward and weird when you walk-in because you aren't a regular. Stumbled upon Atomic Comics so we went in and took a walk around. They have a very huge selection of everything - comics, collectibles, etc you name it. Everything is organized and in decent order. The people that work there are ... typical comic book folks. They are super helpful, but not super social but not awkward either. Nice place, inside, the parking can be a little a tight, but it's not bad. Prices seem to be on point with other places in the area. I like it and I am glad we stumbled upon it. read more

Looks smaller than it actually is. Comic selection is pretty big compared to some other stores. Unfortunately, they don't carry Pokemon singles. Besides that, the card selection seems pretty good. They have older magic and yugioh cards as well. The Asian guy in the front was saying that he's pretty new to comics. But he definitely didn't lack in the service department. He sold me on a sentry comic and recommended I give the new avengers a read. Only downside is that's it's kinda messy up front with all the boxes and what have you. Other than that, it's a good spot. read more

I have known one of the proprietors of this business for close to 20 years. He started out as a tabletop card game player and comic book enthusiast. Now, he helps run one of the best shops in SoCal, in my opinion. Comics are prepared and ready to pick up when people create "pull lists." The staff is friendly and understanding. Every inch, except the bathroom, thank god, is decked out in fandom and geek materials. Do you like Power Rangers, Pokemon, Superman, Wolverine, Magic: the Gathering, My Hero Academia? They have all of that and more. If you like comics, cards, statues, toys and everything in between, then this is the place. The guy behind the counter and the owner do their best to keep prices in step, especially when it comes to new items and the driving prices that tend to skyrocket. Could not recommend this place more. Except to say that when you walk in and see a smiling face with a beard, please say Hello, Jesse is an amazing person and a better comic book shop worker. read more

$5 an hour for the arcades is a hidden gem in a not so side room in a comic book store. My husband scored cool points for sure with our 8 year old. Arms are sore from rapid fire arcade & cardio down memory lane. Lol. Highly recommend if you're remotely close in the area! read more

Everything. I've been to places not well organized and that should be such a base. This place has a vast catalog of books that invites new readers. This visit was actually bringing my GF to show her how shops work after going to another that was ALL bad. She got a bonus bad and 1 out of 2 we won a lot of fun stuff. Side note. I'm a POC reader and they had a side room of things of things to come and I never felt like I was targeted for exploring this space. That's rare. I'm 30 miles away and incapable of a pull list and hope those that are know, this is the place to be. read more

I used to go here all the time but it has gotten worse. The place is poorly organized, they don't have much of a selection, but what's worse is the service. Everytime I go in there to get help on something the staff seems too preoccupied and have no desire to assist. The last time I went there, I stood at the counter waiting for awhile for the worker to help but he was too busy on his phone so I just walked out. I'm done with this place. read more

We were helped by the Hispanic gentleman and he was super helpful and even showed us lucha libre comics which we had no idea existed! Loved the store and their huge variety, I wished it could've been easier to go through everything but you can't really complain about their huge collection. Definitely a good comic store read more

Pretty nice selection but a bit on the expensive side. If you're looking for a dollar box or something of the like and not in the mood for back issues, then you're out of luck. Customer service is friendly enough. read more

Great LCS! I've found many back issues to fill in the gaps to the sets I'm trying to complete. I could spend days going through all the boxes, but my wife would probably come looking for me! I joined the membership program and the discounts have definitely more than paid for the cost, it's a great deal. Also, I've sold some of my duplicate back issues and got offered a really fair price for them. I'll be going back again and again. read more

I went to the store and was only there to find video games and funko pops. I found that the store has classic NES and N64 games. I went to check out the games, and he had the two Super Mario Bros. variants, the one by itself and the one that comes with Duck Hunt. I took the Mario/Duck Hunt variable since it's a 2-in-1 game. I gave him a hard time deciding what to get, so I apologized to the owner. The only minor complaint I have with the store is that the owner charges customers $5 to play only 1 hour of their arcade games. The guy could improve on it by making the games free to play. Overall, it's a nice experience, and I had fun looking at all the comics, video games, and apparel the store had available. Definitely recommended for comic book enthusiasts. read more

This place is chill, a little messy but no uptight owner hovering over you. They have some back stock and some graded items. They have tons of toys, only thing, you need to scavenge through it all. More then a few times I found hard to find variants here still at regular price where Frank & Sons had already priced up. Good spot read more

A true family owned operation! You can see how hard they work! Several things I appreciate! First FLASH WAS ON! second gave me that 1990s comic book vibe! Also the back room bring your friends and games to play whatever there is! Also check out the comics and action figures! My hubby felt like he was living his 90s so did I... Also bathrooms are clean! If you're playing games except snacks and drinks to be available for purchase! I will definitely be coming back atleast twice a month! Super happy we found this place! My Boyfriend enjoys ducking into Comic Book Stores once a month or so & I wander around while he looks for what he wants. He seems to enjoy Atomic Comics the most. The shop recently moved just one door down from itself & is now larger than before. The first time we came in, there was a card tournament going on. I had no idea what was happening (The Gathering, I think) but the participants were totally into it! Everything is well organized & there are action figures & related collectibles on display. The Owner is super nice & you can tell he has a passion for this business. He's also very helpful, buys as well as sells & wound up tracking down an issue that my BF needed to complete a series. The store is located just a few miles from the Cerritos Mall with a nice size parking lot. read more

The guy working at the store needs some customer service training and public health awareness. My partner and I walk in and the guy just says hi and goes back to watching supernatural on the TV in the back. A big red flag should have been he wasn't wearing a mask during this pandemic. we were left looking around with no help and he did not make himself available. When we were ready to check out we just stood there for 15 minutes waiting if he would come to the register until I had to go get him myself. He finally put on a mask when he got to the register and was very short with us about any questions we had. This was an unpleasant experience and unfortunately happened again when we returned two weeks later to grab some new issues. Last time I go to this shop. read more

Been many years since my time with comics and I ventured in because the closet space would be useful to recover. Brought a small stack in and Eric relayed what the values would be on them. Came back a week later about educating me regarding the condition-grading criteria. Appreciate his time and sincerity in helping me in an area I'm not familiar with. Our conversations have been pleasant and as a customer this builds confidence towards a shop that you'll like to deal with. My experience selling has been great! Amazing new Comic Place close to home! First thought was Finally a Comic Book Store so close home? Now I can actually buy physical copies instead of having to go far to get one only to say F-it and not buy any at all. And now I come to the place maybe 2-3 times a week! But yea back to Atomic Comic: The store is New and Roomy. Great selection of Comic, I was able to find all and some new ones that I wanted. Owner is friendly as is his employee who is also very into comics and helps out with questions you want to ask. I like the membership perks the place offers in discounts and such. And also the option to buy Cover and Board with your comic on the spot so you got everything covered by the time you get home. They also have kids readings in Saturday and Card Games tables on Friday. I definitely recommend this to new and old readers to come and visit and make this your new shop if you live near by. read more

Awesome store !! Great selection of back issues, and they had the Fish playing! Great to see faith-friendly businesses in this state, especially a comic shop. Bought a bunch of JMS Thor back issues, and will definitely be returning. PS the customer service is beyond great. I witnessed an employee have to deal with a terribly rude customer who was practically yelling at him and wouldn't give him a break. I believe the issue was over cards or something. I patiently waited for her to notice I was ready to buy something, and the employee was very friendly toward me. Strength and blessings to this shop and its employees ! read more

Clean and new store with a dollar bin to sift through, a case full of collectible comics that are reasonably priced, back issues that have some oddball goodies, action figures, and tables for games. The only thing this place is missing is an eighth day of the week. Never had a bad experience being here and it is a prime spot to sell comics or cards. Eric and Jesse and both great only bad thing is Jesse who is super knewledgeable on comics thinks doctor doom has magic powers. lol jk. read more

My family and I have been to this place quite a few times. The owner is really nice. Lots of great selections and the prices are fair! If you look at their inventory hard you enough you can find some gems here at amazing prices! They even have a game room for those who play magic cards, heroclix and other tabletop games. read more

Funko pop section was messy, unorganized, and scattered around the tables. You can tell they don't really care about the condition of these collectibles and price them as if they were mint. I would suggest buying display shelves for them and organizing them to make it easier to find the ones I am looking for. read more

This place gave me the 90s vibe when i first got into magic and comic books. They have a huge selection of comic books with a small section of card games. I get it, its in there name so gotta focus on comic books. All in all its a great place to hang out play some card games and buy some collectibles. The owner is friendly easy to talk to. I've been frequenting this place as my main LCS since moving back to the area, and this place is like the new and amazing S/O you have after a terrible past relationship--except with comic stores instead of actual people! This place has been pretty great, with MANY key issues in their back catalogue filling up my wishlist of comics I've wanted to own (a LOT of first X-Men appearances FYI). This place updates regularly with a lot of new stuff from smaller publishers as well, so don't worry about only finding Marvel/DC stuff! I was surprised they'd been in the area for a while, but the store itself seems to have had a recent expansion, so that might've caused the store to be a bit more noticeable. Kyle and Eric are a huge help, and they're both pretty knowledgeable about a lot of events, right down to being able to help you find a specific issue with a event (even if you badly describe it to them). The staff dedication here is great! You can definitely tell they get enthusiastic about comic runs when you strike up a recommendation discussion. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Eric P.

The owner is Eric Patterson. He grew up collecting comics with his older brother. His favorite to read back then was Richie Rich. Later it became Thor. Since then he always kept in touch with the comic world and continued to grow his collection. Owning his own comic book store was a dream come true.

To be honest, dear reader, I am not an avid comic book reader! While I do enjoy the superhero…read moremovies that come along each year, and I do casually read certain runs, or listen to explanations of certain comics via Comics Explained, I do not keep up with this medium as consistently as I do with Video Games. The only run that I have kept up with on a consistent basis is the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, both the Archie run (slightly before Ian Flynn would take over) and the IDW run as I am a huge fan of Sonic. Due to this, I do like to visit a comic book store every once-in-a-while, and this is my #1 spot! I found out about this nice little spot back in 2006 or 2007 as after learning about the Archie run via the Sonic Mega Collection, I wanted to start reading these comics. I noticed this place from time to time in my family's travels to Bellflower and asked my Mother to take me one day. I stopped going for a long time, not because of any specific negative reason, but just because they stopped selling the Sonic run. Since Sonic is the only comic book that I read, I had no reason to return. I did find out about places like Pulp Fiction, but I found that the customer service was consistently not up to par and eventually stopped going. Last year, during Free Comic Book Day, I wanted to stop by a Comic Book Store in order to pick up some of the free comic books. I first went to Amazing Comics & Cards, but found the selection to be very limited and a similar problem of the customer service being poor. I went here after so long to see if they were participating in Free Comic Book Day, and luckily enough, they were! Going in, it is still majorly organized as I remember way back when, but just now with more Graphic Novels and Manga. One thing that I can always say is the best about this place is the customer service. When I went to Free Comic Book Day, they gave people a list of what was available and crossed out any that were not available, they allowed an individual to get way more comics than the previous store I went to (like 5 comics in comparison to 2 or 3), and when I was conflicted on which comic to get, they just allowed me to have both. Not only this, the main guy at the cash register, I never got his name, but is an older white gentleman that usually wears a cap, is always nice and helpful. I don't remember him from years ago, but immediately from our first interaction, he has the best personality. Easy to talk to and start up a conversation, and leaves a definite positive impression after stepping out of the store. And this isn't just one interaction, I had been going from time to time in 2025, and the attitude was always solid. They never seem to run out of the comics that I am looking for and just generally seem to be great spot hidden away in the Bellflower area. In all, from what I remember back in the mid-to-late 2000s and recently, I give them 5 stars. A great place for comic readers and worthy of being one of my favorite spots to stop by when I am in the mood of purchasing a comic.

Always a great place to go when I'm looking for some MTG…read morecards. They let you look thru the bulk yourself and they always have a great selection of boosters and singles. And it's not even their focus!!! Staff is always so great some of the nicest people ever, I had turned away from other shops because the staff in these spaces could be rude or somewhat elitist or Cynical and I almost turned away from the hobby as a whole but the folk here are so nice and welcoming that they single-handedly kept me in. Amazing value and prices for singles and honestly very fair prices for their boosters. They do buy x for x deals on their boosters and it helps you save a bit!

I collect mostly Transformers figures/comics and it's kinda hard for me to find a shop that gives me a little bit of everything about my favorite franchise. But a while back they had a HUGE selection of IDW Transformers back issues. I went crazy and got a bunch of them whenever I stopped by to pick up the current Skybound run. All the staff is super nice and genuinely super kind! I've had no bad experiences here and they're all super knowledgeable about the things I'm interested in buying. They also provide really good suggestions for me which is great. Overall a great comic book store and nice figure options!

They have the latest ongoing issues from Marvel and DC, plenty of trade collections and graphic novels for all ages, and an independent comic creator display. The walls are lined with funko pops of real people as well as fictional characters, there are t-shirts, action figures and toys, and just generally cool geeky things to buy. The shop is bright and clean, well designed for browsing with plenty of space to move around eye catching displays, and the assistant was very friendly - the whole vibe makes you want to come back and support them, which I hope you will do!

I even found not one, but two copies of an old movie I've been searching for in every secondhand store for five years! Weirdly the copies were in totally different sections of the store, and the noticeably dirtier disc was the more expensive one? But the slogan is right with you don't know what gems you'll find just by spending your time looking. This location though is not for the faint of heart introverts. Lots of people in this location, being attached to a busy mall and Costco. The crowd was intensive and the staff were basically running around showing people where things were. Hope this location gets as much staff coverage as they need because my visit didn't seem like it, and workers seemed overworked. When I was helped they were nice and fast though!

The associates working were nice and kind to hold my books for me when I went to the restroom! This is a great place to check for any books that are missing in your collection or a new read! TIP: The closest restroom would be Round1 which is up the escalator! Parking is ample!
