This place has made such a positive impact in my life. I have never done physical therapy prior and chose this location because it's close to home. Making an appointment is easy, but it is highly recommended that you make your appointments in advance since their calendar can fill up quickly. This is the only business where you'll pay; get physically/verbally abused (in a good way of course) and you'll come back asking for more. It gave me some relief for a couple of years. In the past 2 months I have taken Platelet-Rich Plasma shots; 2 in each knee. The results are unbelievable. I can literally jog after these treatments. I also have a torn rotator cuff and slap tears of my shoulder. Unfortunately, I have not had any success with the PRP shots for my shoulder, and will be going for surgery. I strongly recommend that if anyone experiences joint problems and wants to avoid surgery, they should consider visiting this practice. I did a lot of homework before I agreed to these shot. During a visit-she presented a concern about her clothing, and I went to the desk to find an explanation. I tried to speak with the nurse who spent a great deal of time attempting to ignore my presence at the unit desk/counter. After I garnered their attention simply by calling out "Hello Nurse", I discovered they practiced a type of nursing that most people would find objectionable and resist in our modern world. I really thought Nurse Ratchet was a thing of the past- BUT I was wrong. The nurse was rude, and resistant. I believe by the nurse's behavior was a demonstration of a standard and not an exception to the rule. In my protest I was visited by the administration- (DON probably) but that wasn't helpful, but it was packed with an immediate response. I didn't ask for an apology, or any other actions, I just wanted to be informative. The main reason I engaged in the awkward conversation with this administrator, was to reveal something serious but I didn't feel satisfied that it would create change or cause an immediate address. Afterward I felt a pit in my stomach and uncomfortable leaving my aged loved one, defenseless, and feeble in the care of those who didn't mind shouting at me being healthy, robust, and able to voice my concerns. I could only imagine what type of treatment my grandmother had experienced in my absence and how much she'd be willing to tolerate if left alone with unsympathetic staff. I questioned to what extent this behavior and bad customer service presented. I would still recommend it to anyone, because the atmosphere is calm and clean. You can tell it was created out of an abundance of concern for the sick and shut in but the staff is not as compassionate as the facade suggests. I would only recommend it for families that will be an active and present while their loved one stays at Ozanam. Create a shift for loved ones to show up all day or even hire a trusted person to sit and help your loved one while they stay.

My family didn't place dad there blindly, it was by choice, after weighing all the options. We have a family member who is a long term resident there currently as well as a long time family friend who is there too. They love the care they receive and the staffers they receive it from. Their recommendations were well received. From the moment I entered the front door and was greeted by the front desk attendant Lana, I knew dad was in a great, loving, caring and Holy place. I went up to dad's floor, was greeted by every staff member I passed. Not just on my first visit, but every visit. No matter how busy they were, every single person said hello. As time went on, those greetings were by name. It truly felt like dad was being cared for by loving family. My visits only lasted a week or so as I live about 700 miles away, but my experience and my opinions of my dad's treatment are fact based. He could not have received better care anywhere else. The facility was spotless, well maintained and the staff all love why they do. It takes a special kind of person to do this work. Ozanam is blessed with the best. Ozanam is even updating the rooms one floor at a time. It's nice to see the investment back into the facilities. The office staff was extremely helpful, kind and very communicative. They assisted in every way possible, making the daunting logistics of dealing with the insurance companies a less daunting part of the experience. I could not ask for better! I'd like to name everyone I met there who cared for me dad and assisted my family throughout, but I would have to name every person in the public eye as well as everyone behind the scenes there. By God's plan, my dad, Donald B. declined due to advancing medical conditions. He received great personal care and was treated with dignity up to and beyond when he took his final breath. He passed on Sept 22, peacefully in his sleep. The staffers who knew him were as sad as we are. Thank you to everyone at Ozanam Hall of Queens for all you do for every person in your care every day. I deal with neck pain that would sometimes force out of bed at 3am and I would have to sleep sitting up to make the pain go away. Ever since I started coming to this facility, I have not had that problem any more. I am currently still rehabilitating my neck but the progress has been excellent! I can sleep until it's time to go to work. That's something I won't take for granted anymore. The staff are brilliant and fantastic! Rose and Ziba work at the front desk and are sincere, sweet and extremely helpful. They make sure you're informed of everything you need to know and are on top of your appointments. Rose also steps in to help you with exercises when needed. Very knowledgeable and reliable. Venki, is the PT. He does an excellent job communicating in the sense of seeing where you are. He'll always ask if you feel okay from stretches to make sure there is no discomfort. I really like that we have conversations on the possible triggers of the neck pain and always proposes solutions. Dr. Andrew, provides the chiropractic care of the therapy. Filled with personality. Makes you laugh while giving me major insight into my injury. Never rushes you, encourages questions and makes sure you leave satisfied. I enjoy the fact that he helps me to understand my condition better than the other doctors I have been with. He educates me on that. I truly appreciate that! Finally, Glenn works with me on training. He gives me exercises to make my neck and the muscles around my neck stronger. If I have difficulty understanding something, he'll explain it to me in a different way. Overall, I find the entire staff to be compassionate, attentive, professional, intelligent and committed! There are those that swear by their Chiropractor and there are those who don't even believe in going to a Chiropractor. I have had experience with many chiropractors and I understand both perspectives. I have tried Chiropractors that accomplished absolutely nothing. I have also had the pleasure and relief of finding Chiropractors like Doctor Roit, that become trusted saviors from the pain that can resonate from the back and throughout the body. As with anything; you have your good apples and you have your bad apples. Doctor Roit is one of the best! I was barely able to get out of bed this morning and stand up straight. The pain resonating from what I believed to be the sciatic nerve had me almost completely frozen, locked, and collapsing to the floor. My biggest fear was I was not going to be able to stand and support my own body weight within the next 24 hours because this was not the first time experiencing this before. And I know first hand and could never forget how unbelievably worse and relentless the pain can become. I walked into Dr. Roit's office today having to take baby steps. Once he assessed me he got to work and by the time I left his office; I was standing up straight, taking normal walking strides with pain at a minimum. I was told not to worry that they do not accept my insurance, because they will accept whatever my insurance does not cover. I now received a bill for $665! It's outrageous! They told me that because I felt better after one treatment and no longer needed their services, I have to pay. Where as if I continued coming for treatment and continued to pay the $20 copay, I would not have had to pay this bill. Outrageous! The only reason I went once is because I did not care for the therapist or the office as a whole. They either accept what my insurance pays or they don't.
