I bought a new one, had them come back out to replace it, and they charged me almost $1000. Talked to Micheal Hoadley about how that happened and he said that since it was a pedestal sink, it's kind of a big job. It took two guys five hours to replace it and they trashed the rug on the landing outside the bathroom. They didn't think it would be thoughtful to maybe take your shoes off or cover the rug. That cost me $180 to clean after they were done. Michael tried to tell me that it was a 3x5 throw rug without ever seeing it. As other reviewers have said, they know plumbers are hard to find and so they are charging ridiculous amounts and could care less about their customers. They think they have a endless supply.

Contractors and Homeowners Beware -- Extremely Concerning Experience…read moreOur company, was hired to perform electrical work on a project involving South Shore Mechanical and its owner, William Holley. During the project, they installed incorrect RTUs, creating a significant issue that needed to be corrected. We were subsequently asked to perform the electrical work necessary to help correct the situation. We completed the requested work, supplied the necessary labor and materials, and did our part to get the project back on track. The result? William Holley / South Shore Mechanical has refused to pay our outstanding invoice for the work we performed. As a fellow contractor and business owner, I find this completely unacceptable. I wouldn't trust this company to pour water out of a boot even if you told them the instructions were on the heel. We have made multiple attempts to resolve the outstanding balance directly with William Holley before reaching this point. Unfortunately, despite the work being completed, we are still left with an unpaid invoice. Based on our company's experience, I cannot recommend South Shore Mechanical or William Holley to homeowners, contractors, or businesses considering working with them. Running a construction project is difficult enough without having to spend months chasing another contractor for payment for work they requested and received. We would have much preferred to resolve this privately and professionally.

I was apprehensive about the ductless units being on my walls in the kitchen and living room. They were very honest and open about what it would look like, where the units and piping would go both inside and out of the house and assured us that the two units would cool the house down completely. After receiving the quote we decided to wait a few days to talk it over. When we called back, they were able to come out the next day to install our units. We had two men do the installation. They were very kind to my dog and even took their boots off when they walked into the house! We told them it wasn't necessary as we have a dog and my husbands in construction but they insisted. They swept up after themselves and took all trash with them. You couldn't even tell that they were here except for the fact that our house was nice and cool soon after they left. We got a few quotes from different businesses but the customer service and fair pricing made us chose them. Where do I start? In mid-June of 2026 both our upstairs and downstairs A/C systems were completely dead. Bob Fleming came to the rescue in a big way! It was H-O-T hot! And it was very uncomfortable to sleep upstairs with no A/C. We decided to install a SEER20 Bosch 36k BTU Bosch heat pump A/C system, which supplies both A/C and Heat at a cost effective rate. It was a big project that also required replacing the air handler in the attic. Since this wasn't going to happen overnight, Bob went out of his way and bought 3 new window AC units for us to use upstairs (which he installed) until the work was completed. He didn't charge us a penny for these. He let us borrow them for free! That bridged the gap perfectly. The new A/C system works perfectly! It's quiet, efficient, and very professionally installed, along with a smart Ecobee thermostat that I quite like. The heat pump also supplies heat during the winter. Bob smartly set it up so that it automatically uses the heat pump when the outside temperature gets down to as low as 35F. If the outside temp goes below 35F, then the energy source automatically transitions to our pre-existing natural gas system. Supposedly that's the sweet spot to use both systems as effectively and cost-conscious as possible. It's brilliant! Bob also reinstalled our old A/C lines that went to three different mini-split systems on the first floor. He professionally pressure tested everything, and it's all working perfectly. Bob was so polite, asking whether it was okay to work past a certain hour as he wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible, while also respecting our family's privacy. He cleaned all of his work up leaving nothing behind. That summer, I felt in a strange way that Bob became an extension of our family. He was so polite to all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed having him around the house, and completely trusted him. I am so fortunate to have found RLF Heating & Cooling. His reviews were fantastic.
