Called Genie of Fairiew Door as I had a previous good experience with them. They did schedule a service call for Friday when I could be home; the technician was there a little late for the scheduled time and was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately he couldn't do the repair, but he did see what had happened; he suggested replacing the springs as well since they were also original. He took one of the springs with him so they knew what needed to be replaced. The office called and scheduled the repair for the following Friday. The 2 man crew arrived on time and were great, they replaced the springs, cables and some other hardware, tuned up the door and got everything done in about 1/2 hour. The job was done professionally, efficiently and with no drama. Even better the job ended up costing significantly less then the original estimate. The garage door is operating better then any time in the last 20 years. I was extremely pleased with the service by Genie of Fairview Door, I would highly recommend them if you need service on your garage door. Great job and a big Thank You!! Original Review: 2020 The Genie Garage Door opener I bought and had installed from one of the large home improvement stores stopped working after a couple of years and after 5 calls to the home center and no response I contacted another garage door repair company located on the East Side and they advised me over the phone that it was not worth fixing the unit and offered to replace it with a new unit for about $600 dollars. I finally called Genie of Fairview and they were incredibly helpful. When I explained my schedule they gave me the first service call of the morning on a Monday after the weekend. The service tech showed up and he did a fantastic job; inspected the opener and the door, readjusted the sensors, reset the unit and even adjusted the springs. All it took was about 20 minutes and he got the door working better then before it stopped. Cost was about $90 with the $10 off coupon on their website. This was exactly what I expect from a service provider; on time arrival, quick and efficient use of time, excellent results and professionalism from the service tech. They came out and provided an estimate, but I did not follow through with the project due to financial issues I was having. I reached back out to the company a month ago when I was ready to move forward with the project. They took a few days to get back to me, which was understandable. They requested a deposit by zelle to order materials and I promptly sent it. After the deposit was sent my texts and calls would go unanswered for days. I decided to go to the address listed on the website to speak to someone in person and there was a totally different business occupying the space. When I did receive a response it was very sarcastic and condescending. I was promised a completion date of April 8th. I will be waiting, but I am not optimistic that the work will be done.

We received three quotes for a fallen lintel over our brick garage. OCM were not the cheapest, but I really liked their office manager, Mallory. We paid our $2000+ deposit and Mallory confirmed that they would be out within a week to begin work on a two-day project, around August 10, 2023. I left the matter in my office manager's hands because I had to travel out of town for two weeks. When I returned, nothing had been done. I called and left several voicemails. I also texted several times. I finally sent a frantic text in mid-September demanding either the work be completed immediately or my deposit returned. After a few "tomorrow" push-offs, they finally arrived and started demo. They arrived without the proper equipment or enough people. They could not complete demo efficiently and dragged it out more than two weeks. They did not bring the proper adapters for their power equipment and rewired our garage to route a line for their equipment without my permission. They ordered the wrong I-Beam replacement and we had to front them 80% of the job cost in order to continue work. They completed this on Oct. 27 and harassed me until I returned early from an out of town work conference in order to hand them a check. The young man was using the wrong tool to trim the insulation and said he would be back that evening to finish trimming it with the correct tool. I regret that I paid them then anyway, because I knew Joe the owner had overextended himself financially on the job. Only later I discovered they had not fixed the electrical in the garage as they said they had. It is December 1 and they still have not completed the job. The I-Beam is replaced, the brick is up, but they did not finish the trim and they did not fix our electrical, so we have an entire wall of outlets that does not work. We run a free store and a mobile food pantry out of our garage to help support the needs of our community. They have negatively impacted our ability to continue our work.
