We were in Rome and what's more we notice several locals that ate there multiple times.

After traveling all day,…read morewe arrived for an early dinner, between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. as Yelp showed the restaurant was open. We were met by the owner, who, while allowing us to come in, was noticeably unfriendly and came across as rude, which set a negative tone for the meal. We chose this restaurant because of the outstanding Yelp reviews, especially the praise for the pasta dishes. One of the main reasons we ordered the Cacio e Pepe was because several reviews described it being prepared in an authentic cheese wheel. That was not our experience. It was not prepared as expected, and spinach had been added to the dish even though it was not shown in any of the photos we had seen beforehand. Because of that unexpected ingredient, our daughter wouldn't eat it, which was very disappointing. We also ordered the spicy chicken, and it was, unfortunately, the worst chicken my husband and I have ever had. It contained a lot of bones, was extremely fatty, with very little meat, and was simply unpleasant to eat. Considering the quality of the food, the discrepancy between what was advertised and what was served, and the unfriendly service, we did not feel the meal was worth the price. We left disappointed and would not return or recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

We ordered a bottle of white wine and the mista salad to start. I started with the carbonara rigatoni and Dave started with the ravioli. The pasta choices were very good. We then split the broccoli e salsiccia pizze bianchi. It was different but very good. Ended with the tiramisu and a complimentary taste of limoncello. Service was great. Ample seating. Very reasonably priced. Will absolutely return if we end up back in Rome!

It is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Be prepared for a bit of a trek--the route includes several sets of steps and passes through many dark alleys and poorly lit roads. It felt a bit isolated, so keep that in mind if you're walking at night. We tried a variety of pasta and pizza. Unfortunately, the pasta was disappointing; while the sauces were heavy and "rich," they surprisingly lacked actual depth or seasoning and didn't taste great. However, the pizza was a much better choice. If you decide to eat here, stick to the pizza. There aren't many dining options within walking distance of the hotel, which makes this a convenient spot by default, but the food (specifically the pasta) didn't quite live up to the recommendation.
