The WORST! Nobody knows what's going on in the office. I will find a better office. They try to get you to come in even though they don't take your insurance. i've had 2 VERY successful surgeries from the Doctors at Atlantic Spine. my first was a laser removal of a centralized stenosis that was shutting down my right arm and causing heart and lung issues in 2012. Dr Liu took all my pain away and gave me back my lifting abilities all while treating me like an actual person, not like a dollar sign as i had been in Erie. he explained the surgery completely, and the team set up everything from my hotel as well as travel to and from the hotel to surgery center. i have often spoke with folks debating on getting surgery done and hands down the most amazing place i've had work done. and because of that, i went to them again last year for detrimental cervical spine issues. In early 2025 was told my spinal column c5-c3 was unstable and in x-rays you could see it tipping off to the left. the pain i endured was so bad, i often thought about just ending existence. my pain was as if someone put red hot coals under my skin and into my muscles from my skull down to my lower lt region and across my entire back and into my shoulder and down both arms...and the pain was 24/7 with zero relief for months. Dr. Bitan preformed a double discectomy with the insertion of 2 cadaver bones and a mesh around c3-5. I INSTANTLY had relief of all that pain. recovery went well as i was back to doing the bulk of my normal life within a couple days and as the pain subsided from the surgery (he really had to move things around as i have a large, muscular neck) i've been accomplishing more and more of my life again (this spring i will go back to cutting firewood) and i've even picked up a few NEW hobbies in life.... Dr. Bitan and the whole team of Atlantic Spine Center ( his whole surgical team as well as office staff -Love you to death Lisa- truly treated me with compassion, understanding (in my darkest hours of pain i was not a pleasant human) and overall REALLY gave me the feeling they cared about my health. they moved mountains for me and i went from putting together end-of-life plans to now living again. i was not sure i would make it to my 50th bday in the end of january, but Dr. Bitan and the team all DID make it happen and now i'm finding more happiness at 50 than i did the last couple yrs of life (turned out this issue had been going on for a couple yrs only on a smaller scale and had built up to life threatening after an incident). i've been sending everyone i talk with through my business (we own a meadery in Erie pa and are on tons of events as well as folks coming to the bar) to Atlantic Spine Center so they can truly find respite and a life again. sorry if i rambled, i'm just THAT happy and excited to have this pain gone AND be able to do my old life PLUS more again. thank you and much love to Dr. Bitan, Lisa and the whole team of Atlantic Spinal Center!!!!!! read more

Suite 110.. not on the floor you'd expect. Entry is "ground" floor I suppose, and a stair takes you up... to not the 1st floor. And you walk up another floor to get to Suite 110 on the "1st" floor. Service was quick, a lot of forms, and they have coffee and snacks for those waiting in the big room. Pro - was quick to get in and get an appointment. PT available. Downside was no x-ray/MRI there, and the PT was.. not helpful. Left with more pain than the patient came in with. Hm. Will have to see what their bill is, as they gave us receipts for the payment but not itemized to service. read more

After I completed an online assessment, received a call from Sal. He processed my insurance information, confirmed they are in-network and would text with me with insurance details (co-insurance, copy, deductible, etc) He offered me the next available appointment, which I accepted. However, when I arrived, I was told they do not accept my insurance--and that this had supposedly been communicated to me. If that were true, I wouldn't have made the appointment or wasted my time sitting in their waiting room. The lack of clear communication and accountability was incredibly frustrating. Would not recommend based on this experience. read more

Atlantic Spine center offers little to help me. I had the pain on the back. The therapy was very poor, not helpful at all. They sent me a bill of approximately $1000, even though I have an insurance coverage. I think they are just grabbing money. read more

Dr. Kadimcherla and Dr. Liu are excellent surgeons. I had a bad disc at L4-L5. They performed a lumbar discectomy and now I am pain free. I was in and out in three hours, and I walked out of the surgicenter!!!! I am so happy that I found these doctors. The staff are excellent and extremely nice. Would not recommend Dr. Lui. Language barrier is a big issue. Dr Lui also rushes you in and out of the office-does not take time to thoroughly answer questions nor explain anything in detail. Dr Lui sent me for an MRI and then quickly read MRI and told me I had one degenerative disk. I have followed up with a different Dr and he spent the time reviewing full MRI with me which Dr Lui did not. It turns out I have two degenarative disks as well as three bulging disks. I can not recommend Dr Lui with good consciousness. In a rush to get patients in and out of office visit as quickly as possible. I guess it's to see as many patients as possible in order to bill insurances as much as possible. Disgusting! read more

Dr. Liu removed a herniated disc on my thoracic spine. This is a procedure that very few surgeons would even attempt using a minimally invasive approach. I feel lucky to be operated on by probably the best surgeon in the world for this condition. He's a great person, very good with pre-op, and post-op, cares so much, and quite literally changed my life when I had very little hope for getting help. If you're getting this procedure done and have some lingering nerve pain, be patient. You're in good hands here. My life is considerably better now, and I am so grateful. read more

I would just like to say how wonderful Dr. Arora is. I went to him for an emg nerve test and he is just an excellent doctor. He makes sure you understand what the problem is, even went to the extent to show me what a healthy spine is supposed look like before he showed me my mri so I could see the difference. He also takes the time to make sure he explains the issue and what he is going to do before he performs the test. He is very thorough with an incredible bedside manner. I cannot speak highly enough of him. My boyfriend who attended the appointment with me even said that was the best dr he's ever spoken to. read more

My experience at the Atlantic Spine Center was amazing. My Physical Therapist, Sridhar Yalamanchili, developed an excellent treatment plan for my condition. My condition has improved and I feel much better. He was attentive to my needs and listened to all of my concerns. I was always greeted with a warm smile from him and his assistant, Vanessa Lopez. Overall, they were professional and genuinely concerned about the care of their patients. It was evident in the care that they rendered. To that end, I highly recommend the Atlantic Spine Center to anyone seeking physical therapy in a warm, caring and professional environment. This center shouldn't even be rated as a 1 - as I would give them a zero. Because of previous addiction issues as I am now in full recovery. I went to Dr. Liu for back issues. Went through the MRI found out I had small herniated L-5 disk. Went through the nerve test - confirmed the pinched nerve issue. Stated that I had a tear in my joint and was prescribed tramadol for the pain until the next procedure. I was discriminated against when the pharmacy called the to tell them I was on another medication that would counter act it. They even lied to the pharmacist and told the pharmacist that I didnt provide that information when I did. They made me look like a fiend. Even though I have an actual medical condition that physically hurts. No matter that as a responsible patient I said that I would not take the medication so that I could take the tramadol. Office manager said that she didnt want to cause further addiction issues. I could understand it it was a continuous refillable prescription, however it was in the interim of the next step in the process of correcting the issues once and for all. Not merely a band-aid fix. I figure that at the amount we are paying these people they could have a little consideration for the fact that I am not lying about the pain. It is a real problem. However, because I am now compartmentalized forever as an addict, I will continue to be so in their eyes. The worst service ever. I have never been made to feel so low about something that I have already overcome. So sad. There is no hope for people like me, who have seen darkness and came to the light. But because of old age and the natural deterioration of the body, I will never be able to get the help needed or an ounce of relief. I don't deserve this treatment. And neither does anyone else in my position. I feel bad. So sad. read more

When I spoke up after 1 hour I was told there was one person ahead of my, 30 minutes later I spoke up again and was told the doctor will be with me in a few minutes, 30 minutes later I had to stand by to door for anyone to look at me. This is for the Manhattan location. I will start with the good parts of Atlantic Spine Center. Micheal, the patient advocate that you Initially deal with is a dream! He gives you lots of hope, especially when you have been to so many doctors and you're about to break, literally. My first appointment was with Dr. Arora & he is really amazing! I have absolutely no complaints about him and I will definitely go back to get pain management treatment from him. I waited a while to finally see Dr.Lui and once again there were no complaints I had with him at all. I was also not able to work,as a side note, for 3 months at this time so I was ready to finally be fixed. This is the start of the downhill with me. I saw Dr.Bitan in the meantime, since Dr. Lui is only at that location once a week. I needed to see Dr.Bitan because I needed some relief in the meantime. I was, and still am, taking 800 mg of Ibuprofen a day about 4-5 times a day to buffer the pain. He offered no medication and said he fixes with a knife, not medication. It's not like I was asking for narcotics! I just wanted anything other than ibuprofen since my stomach was starting to react to how much I was taking. So that was a useless trip. When I had to talk with Paola is when it started to really go down hill. She sent me an email that felt very cold to tell me the out of pocket would average $10,000. There wasn't even, I'm sorry for the inconvenience of price or anything. Just a form sent. I course, I wasn't thinking that this would have to be paid in full before you have surgery. I had also spoke with Michael pertaining to costs and he said that they would find a way to work things out....Nope! Perhaps it was a communication issue on my end but I don't think most patients would think they have to pay 100% of their out-of-pocket before their surgery. I have BCBS PPO insurance as well so how much would the surgery be? A million bucks? Feels like it had to be in the $20,000 plus range. I wasn't getting a sex change! Wtf!!! I was scheduled to have surgery....finally and I was SO relieved that the roller coaster of pain and mental draining was coming to an end, for my back at least. I was sent an email that I have to pay $8000 out of pocket a week before surgery in full! That's INSANE! There were ZERO options to make a payment plan or anything other than that. After all of that I had to cancel my surgery because I could not afford I it. It saddens me that I tried to stay positive and hopeful, yet in the end I was having to start over, again. I also have made many trips there and since I have back issues I have no choice but to take an Uber. That cost is around $80-$90 round trip each time from Brooklyn. So I spent around $500 just to get nothing. I hope they find a way to help patients with the cost because it's extremely unfair to think that everyone has a credit card with a $30,000 limit or rich parents. I would not suggest going here unless you have this much money to throw out for surgery. If you do, throw some my way! :( read more

My Testimony - Atlantic Spine Center & TLIF Saved my life! About 7 years ago, I flipped off a bike while riding down a steep hill, but I did not experience any major complications, just soreness all over and some cuts and bruises. About 4 years ago, I started working-out at the gym on a regular basis. Trying to get my former military body, right and tight, I began working-out sometimes 5 to 7 days a week. After the first 7 or 8 months, it began to feel like the more I worked-out, the more my body hurt. But I was looking good so I kept at it! Finally, in November 2015, my body broke down on me and I could barely walk - I was experiencing severe low back pain, numbing in my legs, paid in my hips and I ached and hurt all the time. I started to see the gyms chiropractor and although I experienced some relief, eventually, I found myself in the chiropractor's office 3 days a week for several months. I began additional physical therapy for several months, but continued to live in pain, morning, noon and night, day after day, after day. It became so debilitating that I began taking time off from work, because I could not roll out of bed. I was taking all kinds of over the counter drugs, with no real relief. Doctor sent me for x-rays and MRI, and finally, it was determined that I had multiple spine and disc issues; it was found that I had degenerative spine issues, spondylolisthesis; spinal bones were crushing nerves, and instability in the L4, L5 and S1 areas. Immediately seeking for a solution on google, I found the Atlantic Spine Center, located in West Orange, NJ, which was so convenient to where I lived. But, being nervous and listening to people who also suffer from back pain, tell me, "you don't want anyone cutting on your back," "just deal with the pain," "exercise", so, I did nothing for the next 3 months except cry, scream, popped over the counter pain relief, used soaked in Epsom salt daily and still, I was deteriorating and my quality of life was diminished. For the next 3 months, I suffered daily. Being a grandmother of 5 kids from 5 years to 2 months of age, I couldn't enjoy them... I started to research early retirement due to disability and began reading every part of the Atlantic Spine Center's website, read every testimony on the web, watched the surgical procedure videos. I had to make the decision to retire due to disability and live without holding any of my grandchildren OR choose to get some help. I was brave enough to make the phone call to Atlantic Spine Center. Starting with Dr. Liu, who relieved my spinal nerves by a procedure called "Endoscopic Lumbar Laminotomy." I was able to walk again without my cane! I still had severe disc issues that needed attention, but I suffered the loss of my mother shortly after that procedure and mourning left me unable to care for myself. A few months later, I went back to Atlantic Spine Center, wearing a back brace to keep me standing upright, tip-toe walking because my low back, legs and hips were always in dire pain. I was introduced to Dr. Praveen Kadimcherla and Dr. Daveed D. Frazier. They told me, "We can help you and that everything is going to be okay." I was almost in tears. He explained the entire process of a TLIF (Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion), which was a minimally invasive procedure that would stabilize my spine and clear the degenerative disc. My procedure was performed on March 22, 2017, I spent 1 night in the hospital and was discharged, standing and walking. Yes, I had some pain after the surgery, but not from my back, legs or hip. The new pain was from the procedure for which I was given prescriptions to deal with pain. It has now been 6 weeks post operation, I have been OFF pain medication for 3 weeks and I am walking and standing with no back, leg or hip pain. I would NOT recommend this place. I was going there for years and they would continue to do the same procedure that did not work, telling me that it should. Well- it didn't. I got a phone call from the doctor who did my procedure that same morning telling me that he operated on the wrong location on my back. We had spoke about where exactly he would focus on. I was then put under general anesthesia moments after the conversation. Not sure what happened between our conversation and him putting me out. I have only good things to say about Dr. Liu and the staff at Atlantic Spine Center. I dealt with a ruptured disc for more than 6 years, the last round of steroid injections did nothing for me. It was then I first saw Dr. Liu. Surgery was the only answer for my issue. I was assigned a patient advocate so any questions I had I always spoke with the same person, who was so willing to answer any question regarding scheduling and what to expect. My surgery went even better than I had expected, I was home in just a few hours and for the first time in a long time I was without pain. I had surgery there in April of 2015 for a herniated disc/sciatica in the L-5, S-1 region. Two years later, the pain is the same as the day I walked into their office for the first time. Absolutely no relief at all! Dr Liu or whatever his name.. is supposed to be some world reknowned surgeon or whatever. While I did see him walking around the day of my surgery, I believe the surgery was done by an underling, Dr. Kadimcherla. I would avoid. I should of had it done in California with the guy that does all the athletes, A person in the billing department, Ulysses, is really rude as well. There was a mix up with the billing and this Ulysses person wrote me a really threatening email saying that they were going to sue me and this and that. No, "Good Morning, Chris", or, "We hope you are feeling better"- nothing. Just, "We are going to sue you if you do not cough up the cash the insurance company sent you a week ago- immediately!" I informed this person that I was living in a DIFFERENT country and that it would take me some time to coordinate with a relative in the states that was handling my affairs. No apology, nothing.
