I've worked out most of my life and spent years going to Planet Fitness, but joining Crunch Fitness…read moreHaverhill has honestly been a step up in every way. The gym itself is very well run, and you notice it right away. It's clean, organized, and has a great overall atmosphere. The staff has also been consistently friendly and professional, which makes a big difference when you're there regularly. What really made the biggest impact for me, though, has been working with Turner as a personal trainer. He's excellent. He took the time to understand my background, including past injuries, and built workouts that are tailored specifically to me. After all these years of working out, I was surprised by how much I still had to learn. Turner helped me realize that some of the strains and injuries I'd dealt with in the past were likely due to my technique. Since working with him, I've improved not just in strength, but in how I approach each exercise. His knowledge and attention to detail have made a real difference. Overall, I'd highly recommend Crunch Fitness in Haverhill--great facility, great staff, and if you have the chance to work with Turner, you'll definitely get a lot out of it.

I want to leave zero stars for the staff, especially the manager at the Haverhill location, Wilkin…read moreLara. However, the manager wouldn't give me their name so I used the name at the bottom of the email. I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with this gym has been frustrating enough that others should be aware before signing up. Do not sign up here, better gyms out there!!!!!! I initially reached out for simple account information, and it took several days just to get a response from the manager Wilkin Lara. Once I finally did, I was given inconsistent and escalating fees--first I was told it would cost $150 to downgrade my membership, then $300 to cancel, despite having been a member for over a year. The pricing explanations felt unclear and changed depending on what I asked, which made the process extremely confusing and frustrating. When I asked for the contact information for upper management to better understand the policies, I was told that information could not be provided. That lack of transparency was disappointing and made it difficult to resolve anything directly. Communication overall felt disorganized and unhelpful, and instead of working toward a reasonable resolution, the situation escalated to the point where I was told my account would be sent to collections very quickly, even though the billing situation was still being discussed. My bill was due the 13th and Wilkin said he sent my bill to collections on the 15 of April. Is this really how this gym does business? Unfortunately, I expected more professionalism and clearer communication from a fitness center, especially when it comes to account changes and cancellations. Instead, it felt unnecessarily difficult to get straightforward answers. At this point, I've chosen to move on and will be finding a different gym that offers clearer policies and better customer service. I would strongly encourage others to carefully review the membership terms before signing up here, especially regarding cancellation policies and fees. I suggest getting new management who can communicate with members.

Hey Ya'll this time I have a review on a gym. I just want to say that the nicest thing about this…read moregym is the 4:30 am opener. He is on time Everyday, says good morning to every tired soul that comes through the gym door. So if you are not an early bird FORGET ABOUT IT! I overheard the so called manager being rude to a member about the new policy they have about charging 20 dollars for a guest and her child going into that dirty daycare. I wish someone would slide me their card when I ask for a manager. (WHAT A SMART A$$)! Maybe he behaves that way because it makes him feel big. Let me tell you, you catch more bees with honey than vinegar and one should not bite the hand that feeds you. So stop being nasty to the people that pay your hourly rate. Mr. I am the Manager.

I'll start out with a bit about this particular studio, then share about how Orangetheory works for…read moreme (and why I love it). The Methuen studio is still somewhat new; it is SPOTLESS, friendly, accommodating, and host to a great group of members. Unlike other Orangetheory studios that can feel cramped; this one is large and lets in gorgeous natural light thanks to transom windows. The music isn't kept so loud that you can't hear the coach, but it's invigorating. Also, it's easy to get a spot in a class with 15 stations (I believe), a copious amount of parking at the Loop, and a wide array of class schedules. The showers are private individual rooms like at a spa. No towel service though, so bring a towel! If you ever need to shower on site; I also like that here the hair drying station is outside of the shower room so more people can get their showers in. It sucks at other OTF studios to need to shower & get to work but waiting while someone ahead of you is done showering g but you can hear they have been blow drying their hair for 15 mins. Methuen is my "home" studio. As a plus-size 40-year old woman I was NOT out of place at all (as I feared). All ages and body types in my classes. And people are so focused on the workout they don't even give anyone else a second thought except to congratulate one another at the end of a challenge! If you've ever considered Orangetheory (OTF) but were concerned you weren't fit enough; just try a class. You'll wonder what you were worried about. OTF is for every fitness level, every body, and will do wonders for your strength, endurance, and resilience -- both mental and physical. After having a major abdominal surgery over a year ago, I'd been super wary of getting back into fitness as my core muscles are soooo weak. But one class at a time, OTF is getting me back up to snuff! I love it so much, feeling amazing progress physically and mentally. I regret not joining sooner. Methuen is a WONDERFUL place to join up. Now about why I love OTF as a concept: I won't get into all the tech aspects as those speak for themselves (check the company website or ask @ a studio about how it works). TRY IT OUT. Non-members scoff at OTF being too difficult. DEBUNKED: The classes are designed to be intense but you get out of it what you put into it. YOU control your intensity. No one is going to care that you take the tempo / rest you need. Everyone is so supportive of you just using your body and giving it your all. You'll be amazed at what you can do (how little it how much) while still getting an amazing workout! Pregnant or injured people can still do OTF, so clearly modifications are common! The coaches give floor exercise modifications right along with the instructions and are so helpful in noticing if you need help. This is what you're paying for! Speaking of paying for it... people (non-members) complain about the cost. Especially in the realm of those $9/mo gyms. DEBUNKED: Here's how I look at it. I had a $19/mo gym membership for years that I hardly used because it was not motivating or fun. I wasn't organized enough to plan my workout or fit enough to keep myself accountable. At OTF I just walk in and know I'm going to get a kick a** workout. No thought, no pressure! In my first month I've already been to more classes at OTF than I ever did at my $19/mo gym in an entire year. OTF for me means accountability! A few years ago I did about 8 months of 30 mins of strength training with a personal trainer 2 x week (8 "classes" per mo) but I did my cardio on my own. The price was DOUBLE the price of an unlimited "premier" OTF membership. Here, you're essentially getting PERSONAL TRAINING in a group format with a sophisticated technology and a WOD type template. At the gym, even with a personal trainer appointment keeping me accountable. I never pushed myself hard on the cardio! Yes I saw gains in lifting and core, but my endurance never caught up because I don't like to inflict "pain" on myself. I am no good at holding myself accountable, so OTF works wonders for me. Pushing me to a place of uncomfortability (the good kind). The treadmills have fans built right into them so you don't get overheated and everyone in the classes is just so focused on their own efforts, you just get super pumped. IT'S FUN! I walk out of every class SPENT but SOOOOO happy. Endorphins, baby! OTF classes are so motivating! The tempo / focus varies (Endurance, Strength, Power). Each day is a little different, if you want to know what type of class you're running into, googling for the day's workout can usually prove successful on a message board or two out there in internet land). There are also special events sprinkled in throughout the calendar year. It's cool that doing good for my body can also be so enjoyable. And it's thanks to the enthusiastic coaches and staff (and OTF corporate methods) that make it possible.
