First I'm stunned by the negative reviews. Something tells me a few of the reviews below were from people that have never been to the south or by the ocean. Yes the toilets flush slow and take time to fill. I can only imagine what underneath these city streets looks like for infrastructure. My family has several places in South Florida and it's the same thing. Water doesn't always run ice cold either. And little critters and lizards are everywhere. Maybe these were old reviews and the place was renovated since idk but I'm a huge fan. Second I walked in texted friends and family back home and said I found a great spot in the heart of it all. Room is clean. Smelled like a five star hotel when I came in. Is pet friendly. Very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom and shower. Larger than normal fridge that works ! Coffee maker. Tv and WiFi. Yes the tv is small. Check In / everything was done online. Made the reservation on line. Paid for the room online. No contact check in was sent a code to get into my room. Worked better than a key card. Cute little four seat patio table in the middle. I would assume 14 rooms maybe less. Will def come back here. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. The room was absolutely filthy--sticky floors like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, terrible plumbing, and a toilet that wouldn't flush at all--even after staff supposedly came to fix it. On top of that, we found a live lizard in our room. Yes, a lizard. In our bed. Completely unacceptable. What made it worse was how the staff handled our complaints. We reported these issues multiple times, only to be met with excuses, delays, and zero accountability. Eventually, they even had the nerve to call us liars--as if we made everything up. The dishonesty and lack of respect were outrageous. The property is poorly maintained and even more poorly managed. The toilet clogged after every single use and had to be snaked outside and plunged inside repeatedly. The place claims to have 24-hour service, but no one answers the phone and no one is present in the office. They don't care about their guests--just the money. We were told we might get a $25-$30 refund, which is an insult considering the experience. This place is a health hazard and a nightmare. Save yourself the headache and stay far away. This place is frightening. There is mold and rotting wood and I had a terrible time trying to breathe from the reaction I had to staying there. The owner would not compensate me for how sick I was and threatened me saying he was lawyer. There are people living here and up all hours of the night. Please beware. On a business trip last week we found ourselves scrambling for accommodation due to events in the area. This place, not our first choice, is basically a strip of what one can only call outdoor rooms attached to each other. The unit is a bedroom and bathroom with a coffee maker, a decent size refrigerator and a postage stamp sized TV. The floors were sticky and there is a strong damp odour from the drawers. Other than that it is clean and well situated. The pricing does not reflect the accommodation and sadly we would not return here. read more

The service & assistance I received from Rachel & Hailey was exceptional from the moment I checked in! Exceptional and comfortable bed, shower & even a medium size refrigerator. Location was 2nd to none, and even when I somehow got lost...Rachel & Hailey came to my rescue! Rooms were kept exceptionally clean with daily cleaning! You can definitely feel the pride and difference from a family owned ( non corporate) establishment! I would not hesitate to come back. Supporting your local businesses (especially now,) is super important. Especially when they are as good as this one! The owner Hailey was super accommodating with all of our needs (as well as the rest of the staff.) Our room was clean cozy and bug free! The beach is a 13 min walk, downtown Delray is around the block and Publix grocery store is 5 min walk. I came to take my daughter to college with the University's only a 15 min drive. When Covid is over, I look forward to an actual vacation and would stay here again without thinking twice. read more

Where do I begin? What a great secret in Delray Beach! My wife had found this "Old piece of Florida" that I've enjoyed over the years compared to chain hotels that have taken over South Florida...We walked into a cute little inn that has approximately 10 rooms. My first impression was that this is a beautiful little place of years ago that was beautifully updated! We had a small glitch in that we didn't have any hot water but the on-call attentive staff had moved us to another room as quickly as possible. Helen, I believe who was also on-call and extremely apologetic after Simone had permitted to move us to another room. They went as far as even coming by the next night to explain that there was a problem with the hot water and to check on how things were. They are close to the craziness that nighttime holds on Atlantic Ave yet close enough to get away to quietness to enjoy the evening! read more

Don't go there. Don't make any reservation there. I made a reservation online on the 8 June 2018 through their website and after making the reservation online at 11PM, I went to the hotel and the office was closed no one was there, also I never received any email from the hotel. After waiting for two hours one of the neighbors came out and he told me that this is not the first time that one of the hotel gustes is left outside waiting for ours. The neighbor told me that the owner of the hotel closed the office very early and that in order to save money he is not hiring an employee to keep the office open at night. I tried to call the office many times but they never answer the phone also the same night I sent several emails to the manager but he never replay. After waiting 3 hours I decided to left the hotel parking lot and stop waiting, I had to go to Boynton Beach and rent another different hotel. The next day I received a phone call from a Lady from the office offer me 50% discount just for that night. Which of course I refused to accept. This is not the way to treat customers. SERENE GETAWAY QUICKIE My last visit was around June this year. Simone and Heather made check in, check out, and all other accommodations a breeze. Simone was very personable, friendly, and patient at all times over the phone. The owner Heather was also patient, friendly, personable, and helpful as we arrived to check in. The hotel really gives you a little hideaway feel located between peaceful residential homes and downtown commons. My friends and I enjoyed having a CLEAN, cute, and quaint room near the back parking lot. The bathroom was clean and contained all necessities (including shower caps) with no problems. We were able to walk to Atlantic ave in about 5-7 minutes with the beach close by as well. We enjoyed taking adventures to the beach knowing our quaint hideaway was awaiting our arrival. I look forward to escaping to Atlantic Hideaway again! read more

The Worst hotel, I stayed for 3 nights the maid walked in on me naked 3 times and then screamed at me on the 3rd day, the place is completely unprofessional, I've stayed at the best hotels in the world and this one is completely horrible and unprofessional DO NOT STAY HERE! When I closed the door on them because I was naked in bed she threatened me with the cops it's beyond, so do not stay here, I wish I had a camera detector because I feel like there was cameras in the room. Id honestly suggest staying at a motel 6 over this because it's just terrible and I feel disturbed. Please save yourselves and do not stay here it feels like a crack house and the pictures they advertise do not match up to the room, in reality the room is so small and you will be woken up at the crack of dawn and not have sleep. My BF and I had previously stayed in a big king-size Suite a few years ago and loved it.We booked what we thought would be a comparable King Size Suite and arrived to find 2 very small rooms connected by a narrow corridor.We had picked this room because it had a tub but the tub had no stopper and it took them nearly an hour to bring us one.The bed is just a mattress (very comfy) on an iron foundation so if you are moving on it it bangs against the wall and is all over the place.No outlets anywhere and a very slippery floor, we nearly fee in the bathroom. No suitcase stand so had to put the suitcase on the floor. But by FAR, the ABSOLUTE WORST thing about this "King-size Suite" was the noise!! The AC unit in the first room was like being on the runway of an airport and we even joked "we are about to take off". The one in the bedroom wasn't as bad so we closed the door so as not to hear the ruckus from the other one. And OMG,the noise from the road!!Zero soundproofing and our window was right on a busy road.It felt like the cars were going right through the room. After only one hour of earplugs and trying our best to sleep, we packed up and left.Seriously,if you are charging for a King Size "suite" but cannot even invest in some real windows,you should be ashamed of yourselves. Hightailed it our of room 14 and never coming back! Pity because now there is all sorts of great financing for impact windows (I know because I sell them) and management is not doing themselves any favors by not thinking of the guests' comfort and basic sleep needs.Nice people but terrible experience. read more

My review is generally in regards to a billing discrepancy caused by Atlantic Hideaway Staff and attempts to resolve the matter with them. Issue I stayed at Atlantic Hideaway for one (1) week on business. Apparently, two (2) days were booked through Travelocity. I extended my stay directly with the Atlantic Hideaway. I asked for a receipt of my costs for the entire duration of my stay and presumably received from Heather an itemized statement for the week of my stay that I submitted to my employer for reimbursement. As it turns out there was a difference between what I was billed during my first two nights and what Atlantic Hideaway had billed me for by around eight dollars ($80) Chronology of trying to resolve the matter with Atlantic Hideaway staff During the past week I called Atlantic Hideaway several times in the morning and talked to the housekeeper (who would not take a message) and she told me to call back in the afternoon. I called in the afternoon on Wednesday, February 26th and was told by someone in the office that they were checking in a guest and that said she would call me back, but I never received a call back. I called the next afternoon Thursday, February 27th and was told to call the next day in the afternoon. I eventually was able to talk on the phone with Simone. Simone stated that the mistake on my invoice was Heather's fault (way to throw your coworker under the bus) because she was new. First, a business is responsible for there mistakes, whether an employee is new, or not. Second, A guest on Yelp discussed Simone and Heather in a review on May 28, 2019, which mean Heather has been there at least nine (9) months and hardly a new employee. Next, Simone said she would talk to the Atlantic Hideaway owner regarding the potential to credit the eighty dollar discrepancy caused by Atlantic Hideaway staff. Literally, the same time I am on the phone with Simone I receive an e-mail from Haley Sones (not sure who she is as she does not identify herself). Ms. Sones states in her e-mail that, "[w]e did not handle payment for you so we would be unable to give you an exact amount paid to them or refund you any portion of that amount." Unfortunately, Atlantic Hideaway did provide me an invoice that was represented by them to be the exact amount I owed for my stay and I reasonably relied on their statement for reimbursement. In essence, it was their mistake and they should be accountable and responsible for it. I am tired of this run around flimflam from the Atlantic Hideaway Staff and have filed a dispute with my credit card company! read more

Very basic motel. We stayed in the two double beds room which was all that was left when we booked. Cons: Uncomfortable very squeaky beds, dirty under the beds (there was a gecko in our room when we got there so we discovered this in the process of trying to chase him outside), no bathroom ventilation (or AC as it was a wall unit in the main room), and our cable/satellite tv wouldn't work which we only realized after the office closed. Also very few outlets, with the bathroom one not working and only 1 outlet near the beds so we had to sacrifice a light and clock to charge our phones. It would be nice if they could add a power strip there for people who also use a CPAP like my husband! Pros: Inexpensive, updated room decor/bathroom, a quick walk to downtown and quiet (we were in the back). The lady in the front office was very friendly and gave us several free cold bottles of water. There is also a mini fridge and Keurig. All in all, if you're on a tight budget and looking just for a place to crash (and aren't picky about bed quality) this may be for you. I'll probably be paying a little extra in the future for one of the nearby hotels. read more

Beware. We booked through Expedia and prepaid. This hotel is misrepresented. This is a one star hotel. We booked 4 NIghts and got there to a disappointing scene..property is run down outside. No one to check us in... waited 40 min. Finally left. Expedia tried to get refund but owner gave us no options but to give up $800 or return to a hotel that is not what it looks like in the pictures. Do not pay over $99/nt not worth it. Loud window air conditioner, weird bathroom/kitchen sink area, sink was clogged, loud street noise and slippery floors. Definitely not worth $200/night. Owner is more about the $$ than providing service. I don't know where they are getting the good reviews. BEWARE read more

I booked through hotels.com and got locked into a no refund deal. Ok, my bad but the day I was to check in, my pregnant wife got sick and we couldn't make the 3 hour road trip. I called ahead to explain the situation but no manager was around and no one could authorize anything in the form of a cancelation or refund. I chalked that up to timing and hoped we could still fix the problem next day. A day later I called hotels.com to attempt a cancel as my pregnant wife was still sick. They said they would refund us but needed permission from the hotel. That morning, they called on our behalf but were unable to reach a manager who was authorized to make a decision. I called back that afternoon to inquire and was told no one with that authority would be on the property until the next morning. Really, a full day with no authority on property to handle their business. I called back the next morning, only to speak with another employee without authorization. She told me to call back after 3. I finally reached Andy, the owner, on the evening of the last night on my reservation and he told me that I should have clicked the cancel button on the website. I didn't do that because I wanted to speak to a human about my circumstances but he said that his wife handles everything and that there's nothing he can do. He said, It's out of his hands as she already denied our refund days ago. No one ever returned my calls to explain this to me days ago... I explained that I had called their hotel and hotels.com had called on my behalf for days but no employee was authorized to handle business on behalf of his business. His end story was that he can't refund me as the days have passed and if I hadn't booked all those days that they could have re-booked them. Clearly, if there was ever a "Manager with Authority" on property or an employee with a bit of customer service ambition to reach a "Manager with Authority" then we could have opened those rooms up to be re-booked with a simple discussion days ago and this could have been avoided. I try to support smaller, locally owned business along my travels and I'm usually happy with my decision. I understand I agreed to a no refund when I clicked online and I understand that a small business must make its money but when a business has no available personnel to run its business and I end up close to $700 lost out of pocket because of their lack of customer service....it must be noted. The owners with a hospitality background have spent their money in upgrading their units to fit the Delray Experience. Chic, clean, really clean, new gel foam beds, European style. Roomy. If I could give this place a zero I would. The rooms smelt like mold all the time. The front desk is rude to customers and have limited office hours. They make it difficult to check in. They overcharge for rooms that aren't that nice that smells like mold. The two owners are money hungry and that is all they care about. The housekeeper is VERY lovely and always want to help you. Super clean, fresh towels (smelled great) and bottled water every day, everything in room worked well, super friendly and helpful owner and staff. Here are my tips... look at google maps. Decent walk to beach. Ketcha Ride has spotty service, and we wound up having to walk to the beach plenty as no one answered the Ketcha Ride phone. Consider Uber. Atlantic Avenue has plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping to choose from (around intersection of 2nd Ave). Just note that the closer you are to the water, the quieter it is and less shops open at night. Renting chairs and Umbrella on beach is $50 per day, so budget for that. The special rate for multiple days was a whopping savings of $5 per day. All in all the stay was wonderful. read more

I will definitely be returning to this place to stay. It is a perfect little place to stay, a very nice and clean room and bathroom with a beautiful walk in shower. It is about a 5 minute walk to the beach and to the main strip of restaurants and shops. The "Downtowner" app is a cheap, fast and easy way to get around Delray Beach by golf cart! If I could give zero stars I would. This place tried to charge my card days before I was expected to arrive. That's new to me! I've traveled plenty and never had to authorize a hotel stay days before arriving. They proceeded to call me every single day for five days, to ensure I was coming. I spoke with the employee and assured her I was indeed coming and that I would pay when I arrived. I refused to authorize the stay when everything on my reservation stated I did not need to pay until I got there. Day of... I get a call from darian (sp?) and she informs me they canceled my reservation, because they couldn't charge my card. I drove 9 hours and was about ten minutes from checking in. She didn't really seem to care that I drove overnight and had no where to stay. I asked the owner to contact me immediately as I was traveling with my six year old nephew and disabled mother. I arrived just as he was walking out, and he had not contacted me to discuss my canceled reservation. The owner was less than helpful as well, extremely condescending, refused to let me talk. Furthermore, he told my mother he was not talking to her when she interjected, essentially telling her to shut up. He also kept saying my reservation wasn't canceled, but that it was pending but It still meant I didn't have a room....so I'm not sure what the difference is between Canceled and pending, when they both result in me not having a room. All in all stay far away from this place. He did me a favor by canceling/pending my reservation. Got a nice place with much better amenities. Also, the place looked vastly different from the website and to be honest, I wouldn't have felt safe putting my family there. The office felt cheap and the owner seemed money hungry. I also feel as if the owner is racist and wouldn't have treated me this way if my skin wasn't the beautiful brown that it is. Extremely grateful I didn't give this scum a single dime and that we made out with an upgrade elsewhere for a smidgen more. Never again Atlantic hideaway! I loved the Hideaway! It was exactly what I wanted in the neighborhood I wanted. I used to live in Delray so I know the town well. It was close to the main drag, Atlantic Ave, where all the restaurants are and close to the beach. There's a free shuttle downtown and most things are within walking distance any way. It has been remodeled so it is clean and modern with very friendly and helpful staff. Read their website; it is small and family owned so no you do not get round the clock service from staff or room service. You get friendliness and charm and a safe, clean place to stay. For the naysayer that tried to check in at 11:00 pm, he obviously did not read their site where they said to let them know if you will be checking in late so they can accommodate you. And the other person who complained about them charging their credit card days before, again they DO TELL YOU they will do that and then reverse the charge to make sure you can actually pay since they get many guests from overseas.
