The Hyatt Place has a lot to like. It's got a great location, within walking distance of Atlantic Avenue, restaurants and shops and all there is to enjoy in Delray. There are closer hotels to the beach, but on this day the beach was not my destination. I arrived mid afternoon for check-in, and I was lucky enough to get a spot right out front. The hotel does have a parking garage available at a cost, but there are also some free spaces out front. I checked in and the staff was very friendly and efficient. I got room 348 which overlooks the pool. It's a very modern room layout, consistent with most Hyatt Place locations. The AC was at a comfortable temperature, and the room was clean. The bathroom was ideal for a single traveler, it might be tight for a full family vacation. The shower pressure and temperature were decent, though unexceptional. The TV had plenty of channels, and the channels were listed in alphabetical order which made it easy to find what I was looking to see. The next morning, breakfast was complimentary, so I showed up right as the restaurant opened at 6:30 a.m. for fresh eggs, fruit salad, yogurt, etc. along with coffee and juice. Check out, with friendly staff, and a reasonable price. I am a Hyatt points member, and was awarded the right amount of points for this trip. My friend and I stayed here for a little staycation, and overall we had a great experience. Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had plenty of room to relax. We did spend some time at the pool, but it was probably the biggest disappointment of our stay. The pool area felt more like something you'd find at an airport hotel than at a hotel in the heart of downtown Delray. It was pretty basic and lacked the atmosphere I was expecting given the location. After that, we hung out at the hotel bar to watch a FIFA World Cup match. The bartender was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made great drinks. It ended up being one of the highlights of our stay. The complimentary continental breakfast was another nice perk. It had a good selection and was a great way to start the morning. The best part of this hotel is definitely the location. You're right in the middle of downtown Delray and can easily walk to restaurants, bars, shops, and other local spots, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a really good stay. The pool area could definitely use an upgrade, but the excellent service, clean and spacious rooms, free breakfast, and unbeatable location made it a place I'd happily stay at again. read more

If I could give zero stars I probably would. The ladies at check-in were nice but following that it was quite deceiving -- room smelled like musty mold, bathroom smelled and the toilet seat was wet (thought maybe bleach or chlorine but who knows) and the bed was littered with hair. Did an about face and left. Funny the staff didn't ask me what was wrong or what they could do etc. It was as if they knew. Sigh. Lesson learned. I first want to say the staff at the front desk went above and beyond to help me print multiple documents out that I urgently needed for the next day when the printer was down in the business center & they did it with a smile ! VICKIE & ZOE need to be recognized as the best employees that hyatt has & ever could have in the entire corporation no exaggeration. As busy as they were they were happy to help!! Hyatt are u listening?? As a globalist i have stayed at plenty of Hyatts all over the world & would not hesitate to stay here again. LOCATION IS GREAT. Was in town for a business meeting. Close to lots of bars and restaurants. Nice property and seems new. Staff was nice, however it seemed a bit too "woke" for me. Rainbow crosswalk? Some kind of woke party of sorts going on downtown. There was also transvestite staying there at the same time and always seemed to be around where I was. Made me uncomfortable. However service agent at the desk was also a he she so I didn't voice my concern. Flew in for our son's surprise party. First, the shower water wouldn't turn on. Called the front desk they sent a tech who called another tech. Thankfully, we showered and were on time only to get a phone call shortly thereafter that the pet friendly hotel they were, was not so friendly. Our 12 lb mini dachshund was barking. Umm you claimed to be pet friendly and took our fee per night for him. Our room was next to the gym and pool entrance so naturally he would bark when hearing the doors and people. Rundown hotel. Book elsewhere if possible. Summary: terrible check in, dirty rooms, poor customer service. Here is the detail of what went down: My gf and I arrived shortly after our scheduled check in. The front desk said rooms were not clean and we needed to wait. No ETA was given, no apology, no sense of urgency. This was extremely frustrating as I had an event I had to get ready for within an hour. Adding to the stress - there were about 10 people ahead of us waiting for a room to open up too (they had already checked in, but again, no rooms were clean/available). After 20mins of waiting - I went up to the desk to ask for an update. The type of room I booked wasn't ready, but they could put me in a room with a different layout and number of beds. Given my event I had no option but to take it. Not a huge deal, I thought the worst was over...unfortunately I was wrong. When we walked into our room we immediately got a feeling something was wrong. The first thing that jumped out at me were these white stains on the headboards of the beds - not to be graphic - but it looked like someone had just had sex in our bed. Then as we were walking around the room, my gf stepped in a random, large wet spot on the rug. Then she noticed a ketchup looking stain/substance in one of the corners. It was so gross, I legitimately lifted up the mattress to check for bed bugs. Again, given my event's timing I didn't have time to complain and switch rooms right then and there. Had to get ready in that room. Felt gross leaving my stuff in there tbh. Came back after my event, and thank god - they had another room to put us in. It was not fun having to pack up and move all my stuff, but glad I did. The second room was tolerable (clean at least). The one flaw we noticed in both rooms: the sink design is awful. The spout has almost no flow, and is so close to the sink's edge you almost have to touch your toothbrush to the edge to get any water on it. Furthermore, the gym was substandard and outdated. There were no clean cups to drink water from the cooler, but ironically there were many dirty cups thrown about. I gave the hotel this feedback. They offered me some points towards a future stay. I wrote back saying that wasn't good enough. I'm a pretty reasonable person - so I asked for a refund for the first night (given all the crap we went through), and was willing to pay full price for a second night. Haven't heard back - they couldn't care less. The most infuriating thing is this wasn't some cheap/flea bag motel. This is a Hyatt that costs around $375/night (that was after a discount code used for my event too). Unfortunately really. This place has poor management and needs a lot of work. Wonderful location and lots of parking. Free breakfast. I must specially mention Vickie at the front desk. Very gracious and welcoming as well as the rest of the team at the desk. Nice to have USA Today available each morning. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation so expect some noise during the day. But we were forewarned - also that the pool is closed for the time being. Hopefully the redone rooms tvs will have captioning available and the water in the bathroom will be properly temperature regulated. read more

Came and stayed here for one night. It was pretty good. The staff was super friendly and informative. The front of the hotel was very clean. There is a free breakfast buffet and parking at the back of the hotel was pretty good. It is hard to get the inside parking but the street parking is defiantly available. They do give you a parking pass to have. The room was super huge and wonderful. There was two queen bed and also a pull out sofa bed. There is a lot of space for you to put your luggages. The bathroom is super big and the doors are slide. Each room has free wifi. It is perfect to do work. The breakfast that is served isn't that great. It's the typical boiled eggs, pancakes, fruits and oatmeals. They are alright and free, but nothing special. The gym here is pretty good. There was the standard thread mill, bike machine, and free weights with one bench. There is a water machine there along with towels. Also if you did forget your headphones that's not going to be a problem. There are free headphones there - not really good quality, but at least you have music. You shouldn't need to wear flip flops in the shower! TVs that don't work. A dirty pool. And a single elevator for the entire hotel. If I needed to make my own bed and dump my own trash, I would have stayed home. I've stayed in hostels cleaner and more responsive to guests than this place. Save your money and your vacation. My friends and I stayed here on a Saturday night last month and I felt like we paid a fair price considering that we were in walking distance to Atlantic Ave - which has EVERYTHING. Check-in was easy, parking was a little hidden but not difficult to find, the room was clean and the staff was welcoming. We are expected to wear masks when entering the building and walking around the common areas. There are other options when it comes to breakfast since they're no longer doing the breakfast buffet (due to COVID guidelines). BUT we did not realize that we were going to be charged $20 per car so we ended up paying $40 on top of our room rate - we didn't mind doing it but it would have been nice if it at least one of our cars were included with the nightly rate. We wouldn't mind returning to this Hyatt again, probably just bring one car next time! read more

I stayed at Hyatt Place Delray Florida from June 10th -14th. The room had a musty smell and the temperature in the room was cold and damp. Lighting was poor and bathroom facilities are old. Shower door didn't open/close properly. There is no safe in room. Lock on front door was broken. Walls in room looked dirty. The fitness center only has a few cardio machines which were not clean. The hotel has few amenities. The location is close to Atlantic Avenue, but I don't recommend this hotel. It was a horrible experience. read more

Hotel I am a huge fan of the Hyatt Place hotels - and Hyatt in general but given a choice, I will try to hit a Hyatt Place first and foremost. This is a fairly new location in Delray and it blends in perfectly with the artsy area that is Delray Beach. Conveniently located within walking distance to Atlantic Ave and all the bars / restaurants. Front desk staff were outstandingly nice - quick with recommendations on where to eat or listen to music as well as where to park etc. Rooms were spotless and well maintained. I love the Hyatt beds- very cozy. Elevators were quick and I was able to take advantage of the on-site parking. There is complimentary breakfast that is very good- and their bar / lounge area was better than average and had a good amount of people in it almost every night. Decent pool area and room service if needed completes the picture. Bathrooms were well done - except for my sink which had the oddest faucet fail - the faucet was right on the lip of the sink so it made washing a bit challenging (see photo) Decent wi-fi and a refrigerator and coffee pot in the room - what more could you ask for? My overall impression of this hotel is that it is not clean. The front carpet as you enter the hotel is dirty and the couch in our room was torn with stains on it. On the 4th floor by the elevator there was clearly vomit but the clerk said that it was just an ordinary stain. You decide by the photo attached. Who goes down to breakfast and ask for butter and is told there is none. What kind of hotel does not have butter? The bathroom only has one small piece of soap. No other amenities. It's 2 blocks over from busy & noisy Atlantic Avenue, which is where you want to hang out but far off enough for quiet sleep. If you don't know, Delray beach is like an older Fort Lauderdale, great restaurants and shops, with lots of places to dine in/outside to enjoy good weather. If you stayed in a Hyatt Place before, you know what to expect. 1) informal check-in lobby, 2) really well-designed mini-suite rooms, 3) clean and well-maintained, and 4) free breakfast buffet. Further, the breakfast buffet includes: eggs, bacon/sausage, yogurt and cereals, toast and muffins, fresh fruit, juices & milk, coffee & tea, and more. Best offering? The cookies, not free, but amazing -- especially the $4.28 each Reese's peanut butter cup ones MMMMM, so worth every penny (especially when it's a business expense!). If you need any help or guidance (to the area or what-not), the front desk is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I'll definitely be up for staying here again. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Checked in late, girl at front desk was fine- certainly not welcoming, but fine. Downstairs lobby is lovely- arrived to our room through worn and dated hallways. First thing we noticed was the slick tile- like a film on the tile foyer of the room, we both almost slipped on it. Room was damp feeling and had musty smell, should've read the reviews before booking... seems to be a common complaint. Went to wash my hands and the soap, which was in plastic, was WET. The actual soap- which was INSIDE the plastic. I don't know why or how, very odd. The last straw was when we got into bed and I turned to get my phone from the nightstand- the attached pictures are what I saw on the edge of the nightstand- facing me and only 8 inches from my face. "Clean" is not a word I would use for this place. We left at 2am and checked into the courtyard Marriott- a fabulous clean hotel! read more

I was in Delray Beach under unfortunate circumstances. I needed a calm place to stay. This hotel made it horrible! When I arrived the staff told me there's transportation to the PCO Airport. Not True!! Following day I asked another staff member n they said their is only shuttle buses going around downtown but Not to the airport! Second this place doesn't want to serve you! If they don't feel like cooking they'll tell you the don't want to! I didn't most of the day in the hospital visiting a loved one. Al I wanted to do is go back to the hotel n eat n have a drink. Not happening! I asked that night what time are they open d to? Answer was "I'm the only one w here so I can't cook anything for you. I can't make you anything"! This was on a Saturday between 7:30-8pm! Next is the Keys to the rooms! For over 1 week I had to ask every staff member to have the lock fixed! We couldn't get into our room or building this hotel thinks by giving us free plastic cups and a bag will make up for their disgusting services. Receptionst up front, heavy guy, blamed the room keys on us!! Until another staff said it was the door not US ! We weee at this hotel for 2 weeks n everyday I was seeing a loved one in the hospital for half the day. All I wanted was a descent staff and a room to go back to after a hard day not knowing when I'll see my loved one next. Never got to this hotel! Bar tender, Receptionst, n maintenance are rude!! Why the location rocks: -You are a quick five minute walk from all of the Atlantic Ave madness (shopping, eating and drinking for days) -You are not smack dab in the thick of all of the Atlantic Ave madness -You are a 15 minute walk from the beach -There is plenty of free parking within walking distance (pro-tip, don't pay the hotel 20 dollar fee) Hyatt is always my go-to. You can always expect a spacious room, friendly staff and clean accommodations, and the Hyatt Place Delray Beach was no different. I'll also mention that the pool area is spacious with plenty of lounge chairs. Oh, and comped breakfast! So why a star off? Just a few small reasons that wouldn't deter me from returning. The blow dryer didn't work, housekeeping kept forgetting to bring enough fresh towels and conditioner, and the sink faucet was weirdly positioned and sprayed water everywhere upon use. Despite those small mishaps I'd still stay at Hyatt Place next time I find myself in Delray. Nothing beats a night out on Atlantic Ave or a beach day and the Hyatt is convenient to all of it. read more

I stayed here Memorial Day weekend. Our room was ready an hour before the check in time and we were able to check right in. The hotel is super clean! The pool area is clean and quiet and they provide pool towels as soon as you enter the pool area. All of the staff was super kind and friendly. There is a free breakfast included which had amazing hot biscuit sandwiches with egg cheese and meat as well As healthy options like fresh fruit, oatmeal, and hard boiled eggs. The coffee was amazing! The parking is conveniently right outside of the lobby and is only $22 a night. I will definitely be back! It is conveniently located in the heart of Delray. We arrived late at night and the front desk clerk was very helpful in getting us checked in and helped us find a late night restaurant. Very good service. The location of the hotel is central to bars, shops and restaurants if that's what you are looking for.Unfortunately it is a long walk (especially with kids) to the beach. Not so good for us. During our stay staff was friendly and the hotel was pleasant & clean. Good. After check out we realized we left a mens jacket in our room. Called from the airport and was told they had the jacket and to call back the next day to be given details on how to have it shipped to us. We called as directed and was told that the person in charge would call us back.....A WEEK later and no call. So WE called back and was told there was a external company that handled the shipping and there website & information would be emailed to us that day. A WEEK later and no email. So WE once again called the hotel and was advised that the staff member who dealt with us was out for the day and they would call us the following day. A WEEK later and no phone call, no email and no jacket. NOT GOOD! Very disappointing customer service. I wonder who's wearing my husbands jacket??? read more

We stayed at this hotel 4 days in September 2019. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff was very accomodating: Carmella Vivian Lizbeht Donna Patrick We loved the breakfast! It was really delicious. We loved the roasted potatoes with sweet potatoes, the fresh eggs, the bacon, the banana bread, the zucchini bread, and all the fresh fruit. The coffee was strong, just like we needed it! Yum! The best part is that the hotel takes pets. Great location in the center of downtown Delray Beach. Tons of restaurants and stores walking distance. Excellent choice for Delray Beach. Though not on the water, this Hyatt is in the heart of Delray Beach. One night we were there, there was a giant bike event and the roads were closed in front of the hotel. The bar was packed and cyclists were coming in/out with their cycles. This was odd, but not horrible as the backstreets afforded ingress/egress. We had a really nice room with a refrigerator. Breakfast was good and free! The bar was a good place to hang, but some nights it was packed. I really liked the garage parking. We stayed here over a week for baseball Spring Training in Jupiter and commuted in/out of Delrey. This is my 2nd year of staying at this Hyatt for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. The staff really earned the 5 stars for this visit. 1) Thank you so much for supporting and sponsoring the Parade. Thank you for making everyone feel welcomed and accommodated. 2) I had a wi-fi malfunction. They promptly sent up the "IT guy" (the manager) and we trouble shot through 4 devices to figure out that there was a glitch with their recent update. The gentleman was quite informative on the new wi-fi system and how all Hyatt's free wi-fi (yup, there is the extra star) 3) I extend a super thank you for helping to accommodate several Firefighters coming off shift but with our group. They did not spend the night but they certainly felt welcomed as a guest. 4) Another special thank you for allowing our group to be on the same floor. This was the cherry on top. Finally, I love the new modern decor and the many optional sitting areas in the Lobby. It allowed us to feel at home with a large group. You bet my next years reservations will be in early. Great hotel at a great location really close to the downtown literally right in Pineapple Grove. 1 mile to the beach. The room was a handicap accessible room that was clean, comfortable and well designed. The staff was amazing. Parking is 24 for the stay which is worth it with how packed the area is. Paid 250 per night in May thru Travelocity but found out that calling the hotel would have been 100 buck cheaper, didn't care it was that good. read more

Solid choice when visiting Delray Beach. I just picked up South Florida as a territory, with my largest customer being based in nearby Boca Raton. Without question, the best place that meets my needs is the Hyatt Place. Given the choice of paying more to be situated on top of the ocean (but a healthy walk to the restaurants in the heart of Atlantic Avenue) OR being situated 2 short blocks from the heart of the action, I choose the latter. First off, the hotel is relatively new. The rooms are huge and there is a nice desk area for me to conduct work during my visit. The hotel provides free wifi and whereas they claim they will charge you $15 nightly to park in their garage, I have never seen this expense show up on my bill. The bathrooms are more than adequate and they have a nice roof deck pool (wish they had a better and larger gym, though you can pay a daily $15 fee at a nearby full service gym). They do offer complimentary breakfast, though I am on expense account when I travel so I opt for the nearby Starbucks or other local options to mingle with the locals. Within a 2 minute walk of the hotel, if that, is a very happening Atlantic Avenue dining and bar scene. Lots of places to choose from in this lively, beach town....service can be a little slow at times, but they are friendly and I have had no issues thus far and am giving this hotel a solid 4, maybe even 4+ rating. I cannot comment on the food or bar service at this hotel, as I prefer to socialize with locals not the other visiting hotel guests. Well, it was not terrible by any means. Large spacious rooms. Great bathroom. Super clean hotel. Nice pool. BUT, ok, firstly, when we got our room, the rugs were so wet, when we entered the tiled area our feet were soaked and nearly landed on our butts. Secondly, the breakfast is only OK, the eggs are powdered,or at least taste like it, no meat. Nop bacon or sausage, but ok, not the end of the world. but just a -D breakfast. TV, its Direct TV - do i need to say more? It barely works with a light drizzle. They need local Cable like Xfinity,,, etc...NO TV the entire stay basically. Pool: lovely, but no music, no bar. Just a quiet pool. Fine, as long as you know, its not a happening pool. But the beach is 2 miles away, 20 min walk. BUT, the shocker was in the added, (without mentioning it).... parking fee of $20 per day!! I asked when I arrived if there was parking. She said "absolutely" but NEVER mentioned the charge. For this I would not go again. I dont like sneaky!!! (im originally from the area and know all the free and street parking). They could DEFINITELY improve. They should try, too many really good places to stay in Delray. Theyre very complacent on service. Honestly, I would skip this hotel. Who needs charges racked up after the fact!!! read more
