You could walk around and even go below to see some old photos. (They also have a bathroom down below) On this trip they let you help with getting the sails up, it was so fun to hear from them and see how much work it takes. The views were breathtaking and although it was a bit cloudy, the sunset was still gorgeous. We got to see a full moon rise as well! Tiki Hut can take groups of up to six on their boats (they have two). As mentioned in previous reviews they open their calendar in January and they book up for the entire season very quickly(days). Captain Scott and his wife Karen are great business people and excellent hosts. They work together as a well oiled team. They offer light snacks and amazing drinks. The drinks are well thought out with tons of personality!! I'll leave the rest to visitors to experience so as to not cheapen their first experience. Our early afternoon cruise was a lightly choppy day in the harbor but they as great hosts made it the best possible experience we could have. Cruises are 90 minutes in duration.

I was grateful because there were several other beginners like me. I'm fairly coordinated, but I've never done this before and didn't want to look like an idiot. Before we even got into the water, Kevin talked to us about the boat, sea conditions, and other important safety facts. His instruction was very informative and his funny, sarcastic side made it very enjoyable and entertaining. The water was pretty wavy and it was fairly windy out, but it was easy to paddle and it was super fun being in the water. Kevin taught us different techniques of kayaking and then at the end a "wet exit" which involved dumping yourself out of the boat and into the water. It was about a 3 hour adventure and well worth the money. My husband and I feel very confident to rent kayaks on our own or take a more advanced course, and we will definitely call Salem Kayak again. Awesome job!

The crew is incredibly friendly and chatty, sharing great stories that make the experience even better. They also give you a passport to stamp so that you can earn points to get discounts on future cruises which is cool if you live nearby or visit often.
