We are extremely pleased and highly recommend them. They did an amazing job!! We had 20 trees cut down, and they did it all in 1 day!! (5 of those trees were huge, and within feet of our house) And because all of the trees were so high, they had to use great caution to avoid them hitting our house, deck, fence, our neighbors house, and the electrical wires on both sides of them. They also did all the stump grinding and they cleaned up as they went. My neighbors were even impressed with their work and are looking at using them in the near future for their tree work. The workers were happy and smiley all day. read more

They worked on my house and removed about 20 trees, excellent work, very fast and clean

Called for an estimate. Sales rep started out by saying, " what were you thinking about a price"? The price for one tree went from 4500, down to 3000. The sales rep wouldn't take no for an answer. I felt pressured and eventually caved. Won't be calling for an future estimates read more

We had a massive tree fall in our yard during a storm. My husband started the job but it became too big of a task. We also had a relatively large dead tree that needed to come down before it crushed our fence, so we started seeking professional help. When I got home from work one Friday and found the flyer from Cheap & Great Tree Services in my mailbox with a "Free Stump Grinding with Purchase" coupon, I immediately showed my husband. We had two trees removed previously but left the stumps for later. It was hard to say no! I called Cheap & Great Tree Services that Saturday afternoon and an estimator, Dani, came out to our home to assess everything later that same evening. We were quoted for not only our massive tree removal, but the dead tree, our two stumps from previous tree removals, and three debris piles of branches stacked high. We were advised they were able to get the job done the Monday following our estimate. It sounded too good to be true but it wasn't! Not only did Cheap & Great provide a quote that helped us in more ways than one during a difficult time but Manuel and his team provided top notch service!! The crew was kind, courteous, and prepared. They knocked the entire job out in roughly 3 1/2 hours and left without a trace! We will most certainly be using their services again! read more

Did good cutting trees however with their heavy equipment driving on my driveway it broke a chunk of it. My driveway was only 6 years old and was not damaged before they drove on it, I had 6 videos showing them where the crew drove in the damage area. They denied it and told me I was lying and not their problem But I texted and called over and over and they never responded and left me stuck with coming up with a way to fix my driveway. I guess I'll try small claims court and see how that goes. read more

These clowns might somehow have rented these huge trucks they operate with, but they certainly do not know or care how to drive them. This huge box truck willy nilly drove through MY yard and made an enormous deep and wide rut. No one came to fix it. Atlanta's Lumberjack Tree Service - Unskilled uncaring and unprofessional - Tree Services Near Me - Acworth, Georgia

Able to show up quickly and take care of my trees very quickly. They were extraordinarily proficient and capable. Literally able to drop trees I thought would be difficult and made it look simple and fast. They handled a big job with several large trees as well as some moderate sized ones. Took care of my existing stumps in top of the new ones as well. They gave me a good price and then went around the neighborhood offering to extend my neighbors a discount for work that day since they were already in the area. Very pleased with their work. The before is another season, but it gets across the idea. We have since planted around 11 cedars, 5 apples, 4 peach trees, and a fig. So we replaced all the trees and placed them in places we would like them. read more

Had a tree fall and rip the meter off my house. Needed them to just chop 10 ft of branches off the tree so the power company and electrician could do the repairs. Sales rep came out and quoted me 1800 for an hour and half job. Me and my Dad ended up doing it and it only took us 2 hours and I hauled off all by myself in the same time frame. It was a $300 to 400 dollar job on a good day. Felt like they were trying to rip me off. read more

I was very impressed by the crew and team at Cheap and Great Tree Services. My estimate was very fair and with the senior and veteran discount applied came in under what I had hoped for in my budget. The team arrived in well-marked working vehicles and set up a safety perimeter. The tree I had removed was a very tall pine tree that had been struck by lightning and was dying from the crown. Luis and Eric, the crew leaders, asked permission to move items on my property to assure safety and ease of tractor movement. The crew designated a work area which limited any possible damage that could occur to my home or property. The crew was amazing! Their bravery and professionalism provided an expedited job of bringing down the tree. The team thoroughly cleaned up the area and replaced all items that had been moved. They returned the following day to provide the free stump grinding. I have lived in my home for 40 years and have had to have trees removed before. The crew and team of Cheap and Great Tree Services provided the best experience of tree removal and customer service at a fair price. Great work! read more

Not the cheapest by far! They require half payment before work is done. Though efficient, cleanup is not the best. Company is bonded which is a good thing! read more

Cheap & Great did an excellent job removing my trees. Everything was done on a timely matter and I will definitely hire again.

STAY AWAY!!!! I do not have enough words to say how bad this company is. They totally ruined our yard and won't do anything about it, left trash everywhere, lied about coming back to fix what they messed up. Left ALL the mulch on our yard and said it was in the contract, which they never sent. When I asked for them to email the contract to me, they hung up on me and would never pick up afterwards. If you decide to hire them, just know, you have been warned. (I don't usually like writing bad reviews, but if I don't say anything, then you would never know, and I feel I have an obligation to say something) read more

This is the second time I have used them and have had excellent results. They took down a large dead pine tree. Manuel and his crew did a great job, quickly and cleaned up well. I will say they are aggressive on pricing but at least it is in my favor. I will use them again. They worked hard to not damage my sod. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Extremely unprofessional will damage property . My neighbor used this company to trim branches on a tree in HIS YARD. This company drove a tractor thru my front yard over my grass and driveway to get to my neighbors yard instead of going up his driveway . I immediately asked them to remove the tractor from my yard and of course they all acted like none of the could speak English! My neighbor came out and reprimanded the company and made them move out of my yard. They also ran over a 2 ft by 3ft cable box in my front yard which immediately knocked out internet in the ENTIRE front portion of my subdivision. They didn't even bother to let us know they ran it over. No one knew until neighbors began to call each other and we noticed they ran over the box. I then called the Company to alert Rick of the situation . Rick had already spoke with my neighbor and was well aware of the situation but told me he didnt know what I was talking about. I asked Rick IF there was anyway he could assist myself or the neighbors " I work from home my internet was down two days" he hung up in my face. I will make every effort to let everyone and all proper agencies aware of their negligence. If they won't take responsibility for a CABLE BOX what happens if a tree damages your house, car or even you ??? read more

Unprofessional and Aggressive Behavior Hello Neighbors, I had a very poor experience with Cheap & Great Tree Services. After providing an estimate, Daniel immediately pressured me for a $1,000 DEPOSIT Daniel left my home and came back which then changed the DEPOSIT to $500. When I decided not to move forward due to their poor reputation and reviews, Daniel became extremely aggressive. Despite being told multiple times to stop calling and texting me. I called my husband and told him about the harassing calls/texting from this guy.. It eventually escalated to a verbal altercation where the contractor was cussing at my husband. A professional business should respect a "NO" and certainly should not harass or insult potential customers. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for tree services. read more

This company removed a tree from my yard illegally, without getting permits from the city. I received a fine for $2,400 as a result. I called them upon receiving it and they assured me that they had gotten permits and would promptly resolve the issue and call me back. Having not heard from them for several days, I tried calling again. Call went straight to voicemail. Odd. Called several more times over the next few days. All straight to voicemail. Tried calling from my wife's phone and it goes straight through and I talk to the guy at the office again. He tells me again everything was done right and he's follow up with me. Call back from my wife's phone and they had blocked her number as well. These guys are absolute scammers do not use their service. While removing the tree they also destroyed my mailbox and dropped the tree right into the street breaking the asphalt!!!! read more

Would not honor advertised discounts. The crew did fine but the "management" didn't do what was advertised.

Last week my grandparents were looking to have a tree in their back yard cut down. My grandmother had an estimate done by this man in the morning and they quoted her $400. My grandmother told the man who quoted her this amount that she needed to talk to her husband about it, intending on getting some other estimates done-- not giving the man a direct yes/no answer. Later in day while my grandmother was not home, she missed a call from the man who did the estimate, but he left a voicemail informing her that his guys were in the way to our house. She listened to the voicemail a while later. Shocked, she called me and asked if there were people in our backyard taking down the tree. Which yes, there were. I went out and confronted the 5 men, 3 of which were lounging on our outdoor furniture. They directed me towards the man they claimed was their boss, and he said that they had a card in file and had the go ahead. I told him he was wrong. The tree was already down. My grandmother arrived, and being in an unfair situation and caught completely off guard, she shortly left thereafter to get $400 out of the bank for these men. After the entire ordeal, I checked the yelp reviews for this company, and saw that this business is notorious for abhorrent business practices. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Don't hire this company. read more

I called them and scheduled an appointment. They were very late to the appointment, 2 hours. They are cheap; 100%. In fact, for one tree, they were $600 below the next lowest price. It's the "great" part where they struggle. The tree is gone and the stump is grounded, BUT we went through some communication hurdles to get there. They are pushy and even when I told them I needed HOA approval and Utility 811 lines marked, they kept pushing to come out. They showed up SIX times to do the job despite our agreed upon time to start. Best advice ... hold your ground, don't take their first offer ... or second ... or third. Get everything in writing. Ignore the coupons you get in the mail because they won't honor them. read more

I had a relatively small job that most other tree services wouldn't even quote me. They arrived the same day I called with a quote and started the work a few hours later. There was a lot of debris that didn't fit on their truck so they said they'd come back later. I expected them to come back the next day but they returned at 6:30pm to remove the debris and said they'd grind the stumps the following day. Which they did bright and early. Reliable work, fair price and fast service. I highly recommend this company. read more

Don't use them!!! We just used them today and they hung up on me when I called having an issue. They over charged and didn't do what they said they would. Tried to call to get info what went wrong and they hung up on me mid convo. They sent a 35% coupon in the mail and my husband didn't realize it so when I asked about it, he said it was the price with the coupon. They asked my husband what the other companies charges and he told them (he shouldn't have done that). This company reduced the price by $300 than other companies. When I called to say we had the coupon, they said they inclided the coupon. If thats truly the case, they are WAY OVERPRICED!!! We were going to have them cut down 3, 2 struck by lightning the insurance was going to pay for and one we were having done. They told my husband they'd come cut the one and wait for the other 2 for the insurance to give us the money. They got here this morning and cut ALL 3 DOWN, so we had to pay for all of them which we didn't have the insurance money yet. This is a shady company and if you call to discuss, they'll hang up on you. They got our money, they had no interest in discussing what went wrong. HORRIBLE COMPANY - BEWARE!! read more

I had an extremely tall oak tree and I was quite nervous with them removing it, because the tree was very close to the street. They did an excellent job! I would leave 0 stars if I could. Called the company for a quote and they came the next business day, which was great. The problem started thereafter. After trying to follow up via email a couple of times to request additional information, I received no response or acknowledgement. I called after 4 days of no response and then was told "we aren't currently servicing that area". I asked why couldn't they just respond to the email stating that and it was crickets. No explanation, no apology, no care at all. Abhorrent behavior from a business. Would not recommend due to the lack of professionalism. read more

Do not use this company. I asked them to top off my 6 magnolias and then thin out a few branches. I came outside after they had done 3 of them and saw they had cut almost ALL of the branches off, leaving a tall, almost bare 25 ft trunks! I call it a huge BUTCHER job. I was able to save the last 3 and manage the cutting, which was difficult since no one spoke english on the crew. I called the office number and asked the guy to come back out and take the 3 trunks down to the ground since they look so bad. After a big runaround conversation with him giving me attitude, he said if they get in the neighborhood sometime they will take them down. Welll.....we know where that will go! I should have trusted my gut when I saw the name. Next time, I will only use a tree company with a good reputation. read more

Cheap & Great Tree Services did an outstanding job at my home. The crew was professional, organized, and very respectful of my property. I called Cheap and Great Tree service to give me a quote to take a tree down at my home located in Brookhaven, GA. When they came out they looked at the tree and gave me a quote of $1,750 and mentioned that they would get the permit needed to take down the tree. They also mentioned they have done a lot of work in Brookhaven and know how to get the permit easily. I refused that service and told them I would get the permit myself. They charged me a down payment of $750 to schedule the appointment which I paid on credit card. They left my property and I immediately started working on the permit. When I went to the city of Brookhaven website to submit for the permit, the site mentioned that Cheap and Great Trees was prohibited to do work in Brookhaven. I even called the city of Brookhaven and asked them why it showed prohibited and they mentioned they are not allowed to do any work in Brookhaven. I called the company back and told them I need my deposit back because they aren't allowed to do work. The receptionist that answered the phone said she would talk to the owner and multiple days went by without receiving any update. When I called the 4th time they told me they don't provide refunds and I wouldn't get my money back. I disputed the charge on my credit card and finally got the money back. This is a company that operates unethically and I believe they have lied about getting permits in cities where they say they are getting them, especially in Brookhaven where they said they have done a lot of work and received permits. This company needs to be shut down and their business license revoked. I believe they have changed their name a couple times already and likely because they have been in trouble before. read more

I want to be fair and helpful. The quote was a little higher than another one but they said they could come out the next day. They arrived on time with a crew of six guys. They they went right to work, they had a great system, they were safe and quick. Four large tress down in about 3 hours. They piled up all the trees and said they would be back later that day to take them away. That was six days ago. Several phone calls, broken promises and a lot of frustration. My mistake and recommendation... I should have paid them half of the bill when they finished the take down, with a promise to pay the rest when the trees were taken away. This is their Columbia SC operation. They are affiliated with Greenville SC and Georgia, but I don't know the relationship. I was so ready to give a really good review, but that has all soured. read more
