They offered to "rectify the situation" by a) having us hire them to do more cleaning, b) having us hire them to remove the floors, or c) referring us to a cash buyer who would buy the home as is. I responded that this would not rectify the situation as a) we are not willing to pay for further services, b) they are not a flooring company with the tools and expertise to replace the floors, and c) we are not willing to sell our house at a loss. They did not respond further. While I appreciate that they reached out to me, the problem remains that we hired them and paid thousands of dollars for their services based on a claim they made that was untrue. Had they been honest, we likely would have hired a standard cleaning service with lower rates and replaced the floors without unnecessarily cleaning them first. Very Disappointed -- Poor Workmanship and No Follow-Through…read more I normally do not write negative reviews, but our experience with this comapny was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to warn others. We hired the company to perform water damage remediation and subsequently rebuild the affected areas, including installation of LVP flooring. Unfortunately, within approximately nine months of installation, the flooring began to warp, buckle, chip, and come up from the floor. This was not a minor cosmetic issue--it was a significant failure of the flooring installation. As soon as we noticed the problems, we contacted Moses, the project manager, who initially told us they would address and repair the flooring. Unfortunately, after that conversation, he stopped responding and effectively ghosted us. We continued trying to get the issue resolved and eventually contacted Rob, one of the co-owners, but we experienced the same lack of follow-through. We contacted the company within the first year, while the flooring problems were actively developing. However, we were repeatedly told that they were out of town and that they would get back to us. The delays continued, and by the time we were finally able to have the matter addressed, we were told that the flooring was out of warranty. That was extremely frustrating because we had made the company aware of the problem well before the one-year mark. In our experience, the company did not take responsibility for workmanship that had clearly failed within a relatively short period of time, nor did they make a meaningful effort to resolve the problem when we brought it to their attention. The quality of the flooring installation was unacceptable, and what made the experience even worse was the lack of communication and follow-through afterward. If you hire a contractor, you should be able to expect them to stand behind their work when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with Restoration 1 of North Atlanta. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this company do their research, ask detailed questions about workmanship warranties, and get everything in writing before moving forward. Based on our experience with the flooring installation and the way our concerns were handled afterward, we would not use this company again and cannot recommend them.

The house had water damage as a result of bad HVAC job (by Bardi heating, cool. Another horror story that I want to share soon..). The damage caused mold issues. Concerned for my tenant, I contacted contractors I have worked with before but they were all busy so I had to find someone else. I went on Yelp and reached out to Kyle based on the 2 good reviews. The initial convo went well and he sounded like he runs a good honest business; I went ahead and scheduled for an estimate. He gave me a quote including bathroom ceiling "repair" and closet mold removal. I agreed and paid the deposit and he came to start the job the following week. During the job, he let me know he needed to cut out the drywall in closet because the damage can't be remedied. And also the ceiling in bathroom doesn't need to be cut and can just be painted over with mold-treating-resistant paint. I agreed and asked for quote. Also now that ceiling doesn't need to be cut and repaired, I asked to adjust the first quote. He was reluctant for reasons I didn't really understand (something about because I already paid half). So I asked him to adjust the new quote and he did. So he cut open whatever he thought needed to be cut open and left a fan there for few days to dry out the remaining moisture and painted over the ceiling. At this point, the tenant needed to be out of town over a weekend after he picked up the fan. I thought this is OK so we can observe there's truly no more moisture from HVAC. And we agreed we'll schedule for him to come back and complete after tenant is back. Then he basically ghosted us. The tenant was not able to reach him at all. I was able to reach him once and he told me he has been really busy. I told him I understand but I'd like for us to get on his schedule and he said sure. I asked the tenant to try him again in case he forgets. And she was ghosted. I called and texted him just to be sure. And now I'm ghosted. A week had gone by.. My last text to him is "we will reach out to someone else" and he did not respond. I think it's safe to say at this point he doesn't want to complete the job. I don't want to say I was duped and paid more than what he actually did. I don't know if he even did a good job with mold remediation and painted ceiling. I don't know if he caused more damage than necessary. I'm not a professional and I'm not even there to assess it properly. But I'll assume he did a fair job and I paid a fair price for it. It is the fact that he ghosted on us and leaving us a mess to deal with that had me give this rating. Now we're left with a closet wall cut open, ceilings unfinished, and water stains still not addressed. I cannot recommend him. UPDATE: Given the response from Kyle's family, I changed the rating. As I said, I did want Kyle to work out to have a good reliable contractor to reach out to as a landlord managing remotely. Unfortunately it did not due to the reason stated in the response. Given an opportunity, I am sure Kyle "can" make a better impression on other customer but I can only rate on my own experience. I do wish Kyle a speedy and full recovery and his family well.
