ATI did great work for us remediating our basement after our sump pump went out and we got 3 inches of water there. Mike, Adrian, Ryan and Nolan were all amazing. I really liked how well they communicated with us. I knew everyday what they were planning to do and at the end of the day was updated on progress and the plan for the next day. The accommodated whatever we needed and we're very friendly and had great customer service. It is clear they all worked well together and kept the customer as a top priority. If you ever have an unfortunate incident like we did you should absolutely call ATI. read more

Not only did this company not complete any of the work over the course of four months they also had my entire basement ripped up to have removed and charged me $13,000 without going over the cost with me first. They also contacted estranged family members of mine that I never gave phone numbers to to collect a debt that I had only been notified of the previous week. Seems illegal to me either way. We contacted ATI Restoration during an extremely stressful water damage emergency, expecting professionalism, clarity, and support. Unfortunately, our experience--specifically with Thomas Snyder--was the exact opposite. Thomas was unhelpful, dismissive, and arrogant throughout our interactions. His answers were vague, condescending, and often outright unresponsive to our questions. Instead of providing reassurance or guidance during a crisis, he made an already overwhelming situation significantly more stressful. While the initial emergency dry-out and immediate mitigation were completed, we terminated our relationship with ATI Restoration immediately afterward and refused to move forward with reconstruction solely due to Thomas's behavior and lack of professionalism. Trust matters in disaster recovery, and we had none. In moments like these, homeowners need empathy, clear communication, and competence. What we received was attitude, poor communication, and unnecessary friction. I would not recommend ATI Restoration based on this experience. If you're already dealing with water damage, the last thing you need is a representative who makes the situation worse. read more

Cannot to be trusted to change a lightbulb, they'd do it wrong. In reality, they breached their own contract knowingly and willingly skipping major steps requiring all the work to be redone. They made a horrible situation worse showing us and our property no respect. Their project manager Jay tried to install my cabinets on top of a floating floor and then he yelled and swore at us when we called him on it. Flooring 101, cabinets are not installed on to of a floating floor but up to cabinets. Jay also left our property unsecured and a mess. We came to check on progress and the property was left open to anyone. We fired them and found thousands of dollars in damages to our property. The kitchen had to be reset as it was not level, the floors have grout they didn't remove popping through. They covered a live outlet which is a electrical code violation forcing us to turn off the circuit leaving half our kitchen without power. Beyond the shoddy work, Jays manager Nolan didn't renew our housing while work was happening. This resulted in leaving us homeless with missed work because of his incompetence. Really shoddy work from a really disorganized and unprofessional business that doesn't care about the work. They have a toxic culture that does not care about the project or you, just the dollars they can make from work they don't do. Avoid at all costs as it will cost you much more. If you like being disrespected, cheated and taken advantage of, this crew of simpletons is for you. read more

An absolute mess of a company. They couldn't even put the tarp on a roof correct. They did not bring enough supplies and had to travel back to their headquarters to get more. The water mediation was cut 5 days shorter than they had told my was estimated and told me my house was dry and good. I didn't believe them and bought a moisture meter and they lied to me. The head of water mediation came back out and told me they had lied to me. He then explained because it had taken them 3 days to come out and recheck that mold had potential grown in the walls off my house and they would have to cut open the walls because of their incompetence. After doing that it took 1 month to get through to the construction side of the company because they apparently only have one person running it and he didn't see my house as important enough to make time for. By January (the incident happened in October) they came out and had me sign a contract and right after having me sign under false pretenses they pointed out they left a whole $15000 worth of damages off the original claim to my insurance. Said they would have it settled in a few days. 2 months of me calling them and being ignored and gaslit they quit and ripped up the contract. As the project manager stated after saying he was going to rip up contract rather then explain to my insurance what the $15,000 would be used for, "I didn't want to do the work on your house anyway". ATI now says I owe them $4300 but won't tell me for what. I have reached out to the company and they have turned my calls away. I even had the Regional Manager Bridget argumentative and scream that they will break the law and not give me an itemized bill just to screw me over. I had filed a complaint with the referral service that sent them and the BBB but neither can get me any resolution as ATI won't answer their calls and refuses to respond to their emails. ATI was assigned to me through my insurance company. The project director didn't show up on time for our first meeting because he forgot. Following that, things appeared to go smoothly until I signed the contract and despite multiple attempts to contact them, did not receive a response for three weeks. The project director convinced me that he had extenuating personal circumstances (bereavement leave and an 2 week vacation but no out of office or other people checking his email) and that things would improve from there. The project manager came and told me they would start within a week and a half. After a week I had texted him twice with no response. I emailed the projector director who called me and ensured me the PM would call me the next day with a start date. I emailed the project director the next evening because I did not receive a call. I still did not hear back. I emailed the project director again to state that I would like my contract canceled due to their lack of responsiveness. I did not have a response. I emailed again about two weeks later and finally received a response that the contract was canceled, but that was was only after I informed them I would be filing a complaint with the BBB. This process should have taken less than a month and nearly three months later I am right back to where I began. I would never recommend this company as their employees are unresponsive and unprofessional. read more

Horrible experience. I wish I could leave 0 stars. Do not let yourself be duped by these people. Based on some other reviews that I have read, It seems that ATI's business model is a scam that involves providing a scope of services, not performing all of those services, but billing for the full amount in the hope that consumers will not notice that they did not complete the work. I had a leak in my house last year. I called ATI out and Josh (who, apparently other customers have had the misfortune of dealing with) provided a scope of services. Workers came out and told me that they were not informed that they were to perform the extent of the scope of services provided by Josh. I agreed that they could perform what they were prepared to do, which was only to apply dry wall to a small portion of my house and repaint it, and they told me to contact ATI and request that the bill be adjusted to reflect the work that was done. I contacted the ATI rep that very day and was told that the bill would addressed. Several weeks later I received a bill from Kristin (who other customers apparently also have had the poor luck to have dealt with). She sent me a bill for the full amount, which was around two thousand dollars in excess of the work that they actually performed. I contacted her and asked her to adjust the bill. She told me she would look into it, and I never heard back. Four to five months later I tried several times to reach out to Josh and other ATI representatives to inform that that I still needed to pay them. Josh finally reached back out to me and told me that they needed to send an inspector to my house to see if there was any evidence that the work that they billed for was not actually done. They sent the inspector and determined that the workers had actually performed all of the work. I refused to pay the full amount and asked them to adjust my bill. Josh reduced portions of it, but refused to properly adjust it. ATI then sent me a notice of lien on my property for the full amount of the bill (even though Josh had reduced portions of it). I was forced to hire an attorney to notify ATI that we would be filing a claim if they attempted to file a lien. ATI then got the regional manager, Brian Baumgartner, involved and after some back and forth with him, he ultimately reduced my bill by $2,000. The bill still reflected work that was not done, but Brian stated that he saw "no compelling reason" to further reduce the bill. While I was still trying to get him to properly billed me, ATI went ahead and notified me again that they were filing a lien for the full amount that they had originally billed for, even though their representative, Josh, acknowledged that amount wasn't correct, and Brian acknowledged that it was $2,000 too high. At this point we were only a few hundred dollars apart and I was worried that they would go ahead and file the lien anyway, which would have been very expensive to fight. The company's practices are unethical and likely violate consumer protection laws in Illinois. I chose not to file a lawsuit because the cost-benefit just did not weigh in my favor. I am convinced that had I not fought back, ATI would have wrongly filed a lien on my property. I reported ATI, Brian, and Josh to the Chicago Department of Business Affairs and consumer protection, and to the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. ATI's team in Florida is probably the most incompetent group of people I have ever encountered. They were supposed to complete the job in April, now it is almost July and it is barely started. The project manager Fred has done nothing but lie the entire the time. We followed up on things he said he completed, like building permits with the city and he never filed them. His boss Steve is not much better. I would recommend finding another company before signing up for this misery. read more

Recommended by my insurance company to performed a small flooring job, they took extremely long from the time they first came to asses the job; almost 3 months. Once they started the job it took them 4 visits over the course of 4 weeks. The job was completed in a fashion consistent with that of an apprentice, no attention to detail, having to re-do things, generating dust all over the place, couldn't gather all the necessary tools, no ventilation equipment available, and on and on. We had water damage in our basement and ATI was recommended by our insurance. Working with ATI to start was not a satisfactory experience. But when Phil Roppo came to the house he turned it around. He is AMAZING. He is such a hard worker, efficient, and great attention to detail. He did a significant amount of drywall repair and painting. All of it was done to perfection. I just went through a water damage and remediation project with ATI in Naperville and they were outstanding!Josh as the Project Director was on the ball from the start and put together a bid proposal that was readily accepted by my insurance company. He managed both the remediation project and then the restoration. His communications were on point and helpful. His counsel was most appreciated and valuable. The remediation was quickly addressed and the water was eradicated by a great crew of folks. The restoration end was skillfully managed and led by Mike Szpila whose attention to our needs and communications were the best. He remained engaged from start to finish and was a joy to work with. Once the painting and repairs started we met Phil Roppo and wow was he awesome. ATI is incredible but Phil is the superstar on their team. His attention to detail, communications and outright skill were the best. He is a real pro on a team of pros. His demeanor is the best and I had to stay away from engaging him in conversations as he is so easy to talk too, but even with my distractions he stayed on point with the job. His skill is incredible, he cleans up the work site every day, lets you know where he is at on the job and is always on time. He is such a pro. I used this company years ago and they were great, so there was no question when our Condo flooded downstairs I didn't hesitate to take my insurance company's recommended contractor (ATI). Then, the work began and the nightmare started! The project manager was rarely around, the subs didn't know what they were to do specifically, and yes mistakes occurred again..and again..and again. Not only did they break a water pipe and flooded the basement again, my insurance company had them fire their sub. They switched project managers as well. Then the work to restore the bathroom was so bad, again my insurance company had them fire that crew. This time, 20K of additional work was required. A 60 day restoration job is still incomplete after eight months. I asked them to level a door as their last punch list item, so it will open properly but they are now refusing until they receive a final payment. This is a horror story for sure. Never again will I use this company. I'm drafting a letter to the companies executive officer to let him know the details (by name) of what I'm hoping will come as a shock when he's told how bad some of his people are representing the company. Maybe the company changed hands or they are too focused on the bottom line now. But there customer oriented service is non-existent. read more

Our home flooded while we were away on vacation. Not knowing where to start, we contacted our insurance company who gave us a list of restoration companies to call, one of which was ATI. A representative from ATI came to our house within a couple of days (we had already started the clean up process or I'm sure they would have come out sooner) and provided us with a very comprehensive estimate. They were very thorough, answered all of our many questions and went over every detail of the damage and what would need to be replaced. Once we signed the contract, we were assigned a supervisor that stayed with us for the entire project (as did the project manager who gave us the initial estimate) and managed all of the sub-contractors doing the actual work. It was great to only have to deal with one contact....we just sat back and let them organize all of the work. They were extremely responsive whenever we had questions or concerns. The contractors were always on time and were very respectful in our home. We were very pleased with the process and with the final results. It was a stressful situation made much easier by the professionalism of ATI and their crew. read more

When we initially met with our project managers, we told them that repairs had to be done in the ceiling of our workout room in the basement. My husband came by each evening to see the progress of the repairs and the basement ceiling had been repaired, but not the one in the gym room. When I called the project managers about this, they said they'd follow up with me, but I ended up having to call again about it. The project managers also assured us that they'd cut and look into my son's bedroom wall to make sure there was no mold. That wasn't done at all. Instead, I had to call & email them because we found that the walls in his room were sanded and NEVER cut. It was as if they were going to paint as is and not even check for mold. Finally 2 holes were cut into the walls and photos were taken as proof. Also, we were told that everything would be completed in 2 weeks, but the project was obviously rushed. On the morning we moved back in, my son's room and the basement ceiling had JUST been painted that morning. Prior to this, I told the project managers that it was ok if they needed more time to complete the work after we moved in, so I'm not sure why they rushed to complete it so early in the morning. The paint job in my son's room was sloppy at best. I can still see the previous paint color in some spots and the paint bled in the corners of the room. While we were moving back in, we asked the painter if he was going to paint the entire ceiling to which he replied yes. We left to get out of the way over the movers and painters and when we got back home, we realized the painter ended up only painting a portion of the ceiling. After much back and forth with the project managers, I had to request he come back to complete the work. When he came back, he had an attitude as if he didn't want to do the work and then ended up stealing something from my common area storage. Some of my furniture was damaged when the movers brought the items back into my home. The moldings were to be painted per the scope of work and they weren't and when the crew attached new quarter ends to the molding, they didn't even paint the ends where they cut them. I packed 75% of my own belongings and their movers did the rest, but was still billed as though they did all the packing. When I asked for a discount, I was told to go back to my insurance company for one. WHAT A JOKE! I'd never use this company again and I'm sorry I did in the first place. I'd suggest doing daily checks to ensure that the work is even getting done as promised. read more
