If recovering from a serious sports related injury is your priority, look no further. Carolina…read morePhysical Therapy and Sports Medicine is your best choice by far. I seriously injured my left hamstring during a marathon, which required an ultra-specialized surgery to reattach and repair. Prior to the surgery I phone-interviewed and researched physical therapy provider options. I wanted a no-nonsense, respectful philosophical approach to guide my recovery activities. I spoke with the Center's director, Erin. It was clear that we were aligned here; she included a recommendation that I start physical therapy prior to the surgery, to strengthen my leg and prepare it for rehabilitation. As I had never used crutches prior to the surgery, there was also practice assistance there too! So I began my relationship with Carolina Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine's therapeutic staff, consisting of Erin, Joe, and Liz, and Amber, as their able assistant. My pre-surgery strengthening exercises included not only leg strengthening, but also hip and core and balancing and exercises. My post surgery rehabilitation plan was phased over the course of several months, and included the first phase which included quad sets, ankle pumps, abdominal isometrics, and upper body cardiovascular exercise to maintain my fitness level. Phase two weaned me from crutches and included stationary bike exercise, balance drills, gait training, hip and core strengthening. Phase three included a gradual return to light running drills, impact drills, elliptical machine use, in addition to the exercises in Phase two. Phase four included strengthening drills, higher velocity training, and a return to running. As a result their guidance, I was able to progress through the recovery protocol well ahead of schedule, and have been able to run 9 miles straight without pain in less than four months. In addition, the core and hip strengthening exercises have also improved my running mechanics. Erin, Joe, and Liz and extremely knowledgeable clinicians, and their pleasant, straightforward approach with me was aided by the atmosphere of the Center, which was always incredibly positive. It is clear that this team enjoys their work and enjoys working together. A real difference maker!

We love the community, the people, the low-country food, and the opportunity to enjoy and take part in all the outdoor activities. Unfortunately, I was enjoying it a little too much, and wrenched my back. I was in HORRIBLE pain. I have given birth naturally three times and never experienced pain such as this. Feeling completely clueless, I had to rely on online reviews in finding someone to help treat my discomfort. I came across Atlantic Spine and Health Clinic and was intrigued by all the positive reviews. They were exceptional, and certainly spoke to me and my situation. I immediately contacted the office and instantly knew that I was heading in the right direction.... "We are so sorry for your pain. Can you come in tomorrow at 12:45 pm?" Wow! Let me just say that as a visitor to the area, I was beyond impressed with this clinic. It's basically a one-stop shop, and every person I interacted with was exceptional. From Cassie and the front desk crew, and all the warm and skilled physical therapist... I couldn't have been treated any better. Just know when you go there, you are greeted and treated with respect and concern. Hollen, the PA, is ready and willing to listen to what your concerns are. She is very attentive and purposeful in her ability to see you through your pain. As a medical professional, she was able to offer my pain relief through medicine and lidocaine injections. In the 2 1/2 weeks that I was able to seek treatment, I always found her to be extremely warm and caring, and ready to help me through my healing journey. Alex, the chiropractor, was beyond supportive. She handled and managed my situation with the absolute best care. After a week of working with their staff, she knew that my pain needed x-rays and ultimately an MRI. Upon receiving the results, a herniated disk, which was pressing on the sciatic nerve and piriformis muscle, she educated and explained my situation thoroughly so that I could understand what was going on. She managed my pain with mild adjustments and learning stretching exercises through the physical therapists. I cannot express what an awesome chiropractor she is. The Atlantic Spine Clinic in Mt. Pleasant is the real deal. As a frequent, out-of-state visitor to the area, I wouldn't think twice about using their services if necessary. I only wish I had this kind of service at home. Thank you, Atlantic Spine Clinic, for going above and beyond, and treating me with exceptional care and concern.

I went in there stiffer than a dry board in the back of an out of business hardware store. Dr. Alex folded me like a pretzel and made me hear colors and see sounds. Midas may have had the golden touch, but Dr. Alex has more of the right stuff than a new kids on the block mall concert. She doesn't let me get away with not stretching. She keeps me honest in what I've been doing. I'm pretty sure she's called my momma at this point just to make sure I'm staying more in line than one of those adult coloring books. My wife goes there as well and comes home feeling just as good. Now that's talent. YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING. They also have a rolling table, I cannot comment how good it is for fear of making too many people blush. I love this office. I will continue my visits as often as I can. Thank you Alex and thank you to the rest of the team!!

Pleasant, SC, offers patients the very best in spine health expertise, technology and procedures. They have a wonderful physician staff, which includes spine surgeons, neurosurgeons, sports medicine orthopedic specialists, non-surgical rehab doctors and pain management specialists. My Mom has degenerative disc disease and Dr. Steven Poletti has successfully done two back surgeries on her. She has sung his praises for years to so many family members and friends. Unfortunately, he (or SSI) will not see her anymore because she has Humana Insurance or because my Mom's plan changed under Humana. I just know, if she goes there, they won't accept her insurance. She's 84 now, so I'm hoping she continues to do well. I went to SSI in June of 2024 and saw Dr. Timothy Bryan. Dr. Bryan sent orders downstairs to their surgical center for me to get an injection by Dr. Levin. Two days after getting the injection, my arthritis/sciatica pain was completely gone. No nicer group than the ones in the surgical center. Thank you, Dr. Levin!! Beautiful, clean, new building Wonderful, on-site surgical center MRIs done in the same building The Surgical Staff is the nicest! Only thing I could suggest.... The lobby is so huge when you walk in on the main floor. Maybe a snack cart, or vending machine to sell snacks or drinks? If a patient is seen up stairs, then goes to get an MRI, then they are sent to get a shot, your wait time could be longer than expected. Your driver may need a drink while they wait on the patient, too! **If you visit, take a drink and a snack, especially if you're a diabetic.
