I seriously injured my left hamstring during a marathon, which required an ultra-specialized surgery to reattach and repair. Prior to the surgery I phone-interviewed and researched physical therapy provider options. I wanted a no-nonsense, respectful philosophical approach to guide my recovery activities. I spoke with the Center's director, Erin. It was clear that we were aligned here; she included a recommendation that I start physical therapy prior to the surgery, to strengthen my leg and prepare it for rehabilitation. As I had never used crutches prior to the surgery, there was also practice assistance there too! So I began my relationship with Carolina Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine's therapeutic staff, consisting of Erin, Joe, and Liz, and Amber, as their able assistant. My pre-surgery strengthening exercises included not only leg strengthening, but also hip and core and balancing and exercises. My post surgery rehabilitation plan was phased over the course of several months, and included the first phase which included quad sets, ankle pumps, abdominal isometrics, and upper body cardiovascular exercise to maintain my fitness level. Phase two weaned me from crutches and included stationary bike exercise, balance drills, gait training, hip and core strengthening. Phase three included a gradual return to light running drills, impact drills, elliptical machine use, in addition to the exercises in Phase two. Phase four included strengthening drills, higher velocity training, and a return to running. As a result their guidance, I was able to progress through the recovery protocol well ahead of schedule, and have been able to run 9 miles straight without pain in less than four months. In addition, the core and hip strengthening exercises have also improved my running mechanics. Erin, Joe, and Liz and extremely knowledgeable clinicians, and their pleasant, straightforward approach with me was aided by the atmosphere of the Center, which was always incredibly positive. It is clear that this team enjoys their work and enjoys working together. A real difference maker!

Unfortunately, he (or SSI) will not see her anymore because she has Humana Insurance or because my Mom's plan changed under Humana. I just know, if she goes there, they won't accept her insurance. She's 84 now, so I'm hoping she continues to do well. I went to SSI in June of 2024 and saw Dr. Timothy Bryan. Dr. Bryan sent orders downstairs to their surgical center for me to get an injection by Dr. Levin. Two days after getting the injection, my arthritis/sciatica pain was completely gone. No nicer group than the ones in the surgical center. Thank you, Dr. Levin!! Beautiful, clean, new building Wonderful, on-site surgical center MRIs done in the same building The Surgical Staff is the nicest! Only thing I could suggest.... The lobby is so huge when you walk in on the main floor. Maybe a snack cart, or vending machine to sell snacks or drinks? If a patient is seen up stairs, then goes to get an MRI, then they are sent to get a shot, your wait time could be longer than expected. Your driver may need a drink while they wait on the patient, too! **If you visit, take a drink and a snack, especially if you're a diabetic.

I've been a patient here for just over 4 weeks now and I feel fantastic! I'm virtually symptom free and it is all because of Dr Huston and Dr Cassetori. Not only do I feel great, I'm back to doing things that I was missing out on due to debilitating lower back pain. I'm so amazed at how great I feel in such a short amount of time. And when I mentioned that I broke my ankle back in high school and it hurts every now and then, they told me they'd work that into my treatment too! I'm able to run again :) I love how friendly everyone is...you'll never see "the rude receptionist" because she doesn't work there. They have Sam and she's smiling all the time. She knows my name when I walk in the door. Dr Huston and Dr Cassetori greet me when I walk through the office, without having to look through my chart to remember my name. They discuss my treatment with me in a way that I understand. If customer/patient service is important to you, as it is to me, then this is the only place to go. Years of falling off horses began to catch up with me last year and I couldn't sleep because of back pain. Six months with one chiropractor did nothing to lift my skepticism. Then I was referred to Rick Huston at the Atlantic Spine Clinic. I'd also developed foot and elbow pain, partly, I believe, from parts of the Bikram yoga practice I love. Rick and the entire staff were wonderful. No waiting around; get on the spinolator or hang upside-down to stretch your spine. With Rick showing me on my xrays what was wrong and explaining what I could and shouldn't do, he worked to straighten me out before he let me begin some home exercises. I've learned from prior physical therapy that you need both in office and home exercises to repair and strengthen your body. Now I am doing the activities I love (Bikrram and riding), sleeping like a baby again and am pain-free (except when I take another fall like last weekend). Rick, Dominique and Sam are wonderful (haven't had a massage yet) and I'm hooked. read more

Amazing! I don't know what I would do without them! Sam is so friendly and really remembers who I am and what's going on in my life. I'm not just another faceless patient. And Dr. Huston is a miracle worker. He's even been able to help with my TMJ! And I really like the fact his adjustments have "sticking power". I don't just feel better for the rest of the same day I got an adjustment. The benefits and relief keep working! His adjustments plus Jackie's amazing massages have made such a difference in my quality of life! Truly excellent on every dimension. Start with Sam, the EASY..going, Can Do, No Worries! (more than) receptionist, who sets the stage for the optimistic, joyful environment experienced Every Time you enter the office. The Docs: Knowledgeable, and Strategic in approach, to the variables of each patient's structural AND OVERALL health situation. I have experienced a number of chiropractors across the country and many years. So have a good idea of what one is getting here. Summed up: Beyond whatever you are expecting. I really have the problems. Complicated. And in Give Up mode when I came. They don't give you a Chance to give up Here! And I am, like the other patients I talk to, am getting better. Wow! I absolutely cannot believe how much better I feel after going to Atlantic Spine Clinic!! My family doctor referred me to this office for neck pain and headaches (which I've had for years)--I was a little concerned about getting my neck adjusted, but after Dr. Huston took the time to evaluate me and actually review my MRI with me, I felt much more comfortable--and sure enough, it was painless. Everyone at the office is very friendly, and very professional. They handled all of my insurance questions, and there was no "salesman" like feel I've experienced at other offices. Atlantic Spine clinic was recommended to me by a coworker. My job is very physical and I could hardly turn my neck without shooting pains and my mid back had a constant dull ache. So I gave Dr Rick Huston a try. He's turned out to be the best chiropractor I have ever been to in over 20 years!! He is GREAT! After a few visits I was feeling like new! My neck no longer has those sharp shooting pains and I can move freely. Not only that my back doesn't ache any more. I still go back to see him once or twice a month to keep my spine in tip top shape and to keep my body functioning at an optimum level. He has a great staff and his fees are reasonable. I assure you that Dr.Huston is the BEST Chiropractor in Mt. Pleasant...hands down! I have been a very proud patient for 3 years and couldn't be happier with the results! Dr. Huston has helped relieve the horrific compression pain, caused by my scoliosis, better than any previous chiropractor I've seen. I am a patient with fibromyalgia and degenerative spine. The two together make for a lot of pain. When I first saw Dr. Huston, we joked about my listing all the parts of my body as 'what hurts.' After just a couple of months of treatment, my periods of being pain-free are expanding. My headaches are less frequent and I am able to do more physically at home and at work. Win! Dr. Huston and the whole team at ASI are the best. I've been to other chiropractors in other cities I have lived in, but never left feeling quite satisfied. My career that I am in leaves me with terrible neck and low back pain. Getting maybe 3 hours combined sleep per a night I googled what I thought was the chiropractor down the street from where we live. I'm new to the state and don't know street names quite yet, they answered the phone and told me not to stress I could be seen Monday morning! I was praying this would be our answer and maybe get some sleep! Monday came I loaded us up and my 2 min drive I thought I was doing turned into 10 not a big deal and figured worse case I'll never go back. I'm not joking when I walked into their doors I felt an instant weight lifted off my shoulders. Everyone at the front desk was so kind and smiling (I thought it was a ploy) and I truly was excited for my mistake. They took me back and did scans and then did a small adjustment on her as they didn't know quite yet what she was going to need care wise. We met the next day and Dr. Adam went over everything and set up a care plan. I was a little overwhelmed but my husband and I both felt it was important for not only our sanity but for our daughters health to see if this would help. We both were skeptical but after a few weeks I noticed she wasn't as gassy or colicky and while she still had these issues they were far more manageable. After 3 months of care visits we have Laila straight as an arrow and as happy as can be. While seeing them weekly I have watched my daughter form the sweetest bond with Dr. Lexi and she genuinely loves seeing her every week. The front staff are actually genuinely that happy and always have smiles (it wasn't a ploy lol) and they even prayed with me when my daughter needed to go for a small surgical procedure. I can say without a doubt in my mind that the amazing work and exercises I've been taught have helped Laila so much. My skeptical self was turned into a believer and I have never been so happy to have made a mistake, it turned into such a beautiful thing. The entire team from the front desk to the Doctors at Foundation Family are truly the best of the best and I look forward to many years of visits.
