When Amanda met me at the entrance, my first impression was that she had great energy, an awesome personality, a lot of confidence, and she was super cute! Aside from that, she was very small. Probably not even 5ft tall. But from my past experiences, I've learned that great things come in small packages. And that was definitely the case with Amanda... I like hard pressure on my back and medium pressure everywhere else and I usually get 1.5 to 2.5hr sessions. The day that I saw her, I had a 1.5hr session and from beginning to end, she was very consistent. Her stamina and strength was like no other. To add to that, her technique is just magical. She found a ton of knots within the first 5 minutes and for the most part, worked them all out during the session It's not hard to tell that even at her young age, she is more experienced than most veterans. Maybe it's her physical therapy background and her ridiculously comfy massage table, but whatever it is, she's very talented. Best of all, her prices are very reasonable, especially for being in Mount Pleasant. When I moved to the area, I was worried about being able to find a good massage therapist, but I really lucked out finding her and I am happy to say she's the one! Seriously, as long as I'm in the area, I will never see another massage therapist again! The selfish person in me almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want too many people to know about her and then make it harder for me to book an appointment. Pleasant employees earn an average of $41-$45 per hour depending on experience, while the owners reportedly grossed between $130,000 and $200,000 last year. Am I compensating an employee or pool boy? lol In good faith, I proposed a reasonable compromise: a refund of half the charge. Instead, I was offered 50% off a future service, which sidesteps the actual issue -- that I should not have been charged the full $130 in the first place. Had the situation been handled with any consideration for the circumstances, a $65 charge would have more than covered the therapist's hourly rate and reflected basic fairness. This kind of experience is exactly why longtime residents of Mount Pleasant feel increasingly alienated by businesses that prioritize rigid policy over community and basic human decency -- treating loyal neighbors like transactions rather than people.

I primarily see LaShea for lymphatic drainage massage because I have issues with my lymphatic system not working as well as it should. She is incredibly knowledgeable and always seems to know exactly what my body needs. Her lymphatic massages have helped tremendously with lymphatic buildup and have helped me feel more comfortable and loosened up so my body can function better. Recently, I had an upper trap injury after a fall and came in with quite a bit of pain and discomfort. LaShea immediately noticed that I was struggling and suggested that we focus on my back to help relieve some of the tension and pain. The massage was absolutely amazing. She incorporated cupping to help with the areas that felt particularly stagnant and tight, and the results were incredible. I had already seen a chiropractor for the injury but was still experiencing significant pain afterward. With her directions, it was very easy to find the location. I was a few minutes early and she was ready for me, having me fill out a quick information sheet before we started. The room was clean and immediately set me at ease. Cathy engaged in a bit of small talk with me in the beginning and communicated well with me throughout the massage. The massage itself was great - very relaxing, very thorough, and took up just about an hour. I knew I was going to feel better for days, both physically and emotionally. However, the after-massage is what is causing me to give 3 stars instead of 5, and ensures I will not be booking a second massage with Cathy. On a table in the room was a sign saying something to the effect of "If you enjoyed your massage, please feel free to leave a gratuity". I realized I had forgotten the cash I meant as a tip at home and only had a few dollars on hand. I had been really happy with the massage and thought I would get her card and book a second massage, with the intention of fully tipping her for BOTH at the second massage. When I walked out of the room, she asked how I felt and, with phone and Square chip in hand, told me that she accepts gratuities via card if I wanted to -- following that up with an explanation that she only gets about 1/2 of what Groupon charges and she only uses it for advertising. I had told her that the massage was a gift, so it was unprofessional to complain about how much money she is losing from advertising she chose to do. Without Groupon, I wouldn't have known she existed. But if she hadn't prompted me for a tip, I would have booked another massage, given her a full tip for both, AND used both Yelp and word of mouth to help tell more people about her.
