This review is long overdue. I was a client from Dec-end of Feb and hope to go back in May once my work schedule lightens up. In the past, I have been to other PT places (Athletico, Rehabilitation Inst near Northwestern) and I have to say the care I had received at ATi, Roscoe Village, was simply the best.
From the first day, I was warmly greeted and while nervous, I found myself relaxing and really embracing my visits. And that was due to two amazing people- Katie - this dynamic, super friendly, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, patient, funny therapist and Alex -also super friendly, knowledgeable, kind, patient, and compassionate assistant (ask to see his tattoos!:) There was never a time I saw them standing around chit chatting with each other or on their cellphones. It is 100% client focused. (Can't say that about the other places I was at)
There was never a session where I wasn't greeted and asked how did I feel after my last session. Katie really listened to me. Not just to my words but to what my body was telling her.
I came in one Monday 45 minutes earlier - another dr appt got bumped up by an hour so I needed to end my PT earlier. I thought ATI had opened up earlier. I didn't know I was the first appt. To my chagrin, there was no one there. As I was leaving, I ran into Katie who obviously was getting to work early so she could get things done, but I had explained my situation and she invited me in. I still had the same high quality session despite the fact I had bulldozed my way in.
Despite my not being the best client, I never felt I was treated less in any way. The atmosphere at ATI is very open in space and personality. Even the clients start chatting, joking with each other - Katie and Alex make everyone feel so relaxed and comfortable in an uncomfortable situation (and I am talking about some of these exercises!).
While I had selected ATI because of its close proximity to where I live, I would surely travel farther to Katie and Alex for the wonderful care I received. I miss going to my PT - how many people can or have said that!? In the meantime, I try to do my home exercises Katie gave me and wait for May to finally get here. read more
